Viktoriya (Utah dancer) has died

topic posted Sat, January 15, 2011 - 7:27 AM by  Shira
In April, 2009, the Russian dancer Viktoriya was in a devastating car accident. It was a head-on collision which left her in serious condition. Sadly, she died yesterday.

If you're not sure which Viktoriya, it's the one in this youtube clip:

Charles, on the Utah Belly Dance Yahoo Group posed this yesterday morning:

"Thank you everyone, who were there with Viktoriya, when she was with our dance world. Thank you Sheline, Sultra, Deb, Aziz, Raffa, Thia, and everyone else that visited Viktoryia.
Thank you everyone who helped with her fund-raiser in July.

She passed this morning, at about 4 am. She had friends & family there, until about 3 am.

We will miss her.

I don't have anything yet on services, etc, but I'll try to post something, when we know more. We want to get out a mailing address for notes.

This is very sad! My sympathies go out to her family and friends.

Years ago, one of my closest friends died in a car accident. (The two of us I learned how to dance together and even started a belly dancing club on campus. The last time I saw her we were practicing.)

I am very sorry to hear about this. We played music for her on New Years Eve several years ago. She was absolutely fantastic. A total class act. Very sweet person. May she be in the greatest of places right now. I wish I could say things that would make people feel better, but I do not know the words.
Perhaps we can all try to do a little better in her name.
      Regards to all,'
