Respectfully requesting:

Somebody set up a PayPal acct.
Awno designates someone to access it.
Somebody else gets an agreement (with an optional extension for longer, would be nice) made with a local lab of Awno's choosing to run a series of the same blood test (a full chemistry panel, usually a 'Chem 20') over a period of weeks, each occuring after Awno's "sweat", and every other day or every day in between. And a 'CBC' thrown in for good measure occasionally.
Awno goes to the lab, they draw his blood. Done in less than 30 minutes.
Somebody receives the results.
We start becoming part of the solution instead of ................(you fill in the blank with whatever your *specific* aversion to this decision is, but you'll have to think a bit about that one)...............I'm gonna go out on a limb for this one, and say that for most people the specific aversion would be fear, but could be anger, the ego, etc.
Everybody donates to cover the fees to help create this particular safety measure for Awno.
Awno agrees to this.
We all get to go down in the Medical Journals for facilitating the process.

Like I keep sayin', in the end it's always all about me.

miracles

what is a miracle?

is it something that defies explanation or confounds scientific proof? is it something that happens to us b/c of our faith or do we choose to believe it's happening in order to give something meaning?

most importantly... miracles seem to must be something personal. and maybe that's why they're closely tied to faith in the 1st place. but it's usually the case... miracles & catrastrophies happen every moment of every day... pick up a newspaper, flip on the news, talk to anyone who's paying attention to the world out there - something extraordinary is happening somewhere @ sometime... usually how that's interpreted is up to you.

put it this way: if you were suffering in a particular way, say... you couldn't walk... if you believed in something enough that it healed you, you would probably consider it a miracle. if it didn't heal you, what then? -would you throw your faith away? or would you hold on, believing for another day? or even for some, believing that this was God's will for you to not walk?

faith works... in essence & @ its'core, b/c it gives people hope. and people who are in need of miracles tend to be people in dire need of hope. and hope, @ its' core, gives even the most dire @ least more time. this is reason enough for me to give room for anyone's faith... if you've known the gift of a 2nd chance, you understand how powerful it is.

some of us are given 3rd chances. & still, some of us never learn. that's up to us... to make of what we're given.

if you're looking for a miracle, consider lynnsane. consider that fall & her survival... consider her recovery. visit an AA meeting or rehab clinic... go make some rounds @ a nearby hospital, prison, or church... interview someone you know who's in love & ask them to describe what they feel when they think of their loved one... think of someone you love & ask yourself the same Q... take a meeting w/ someone like me who's lived enough to already have been pronounced dead.

do miracles happen? -i don't know...

The Time is Now, well almost

As all of you know I am a dialysis patient. My treatment for the last eight years has consisted of three to four treatments a week for 4 hours a session.
As some of you know I have been feeling a pull towards shamanistic practices and learning.
So of late i have been challenging myself to follow my intuition. To do that which i know is right to be done at each moment.
So....I am going to be quitting dialysis.
I have been 'hearing' that I do not need dialysis to survive. So I am going to listen to that voice.
I am going to purchase an Infrared sauna. And with hyper-usage plan on replacing my dormant kidney function with the sweating and filtering aspects of my skin.

I know that this is serious. I know that under normal circumstances a dialysis patient would be dead in just under 2 weeks without treatment. I am doing this because i believe it is the right thing to do. I am writing about it because i want a record of this action.
If my experiment is successful lives will be changed.

once the infrared sauna has been purchased i will stop going to my center for treatment.

This will be my public forum where I will document how things are going.
You all that have chosen to be in this group have declared your affections to me. I am know sharing what is the most personal and compelling decision that i may ever make.

The Integratron 6/28

SO I am finally setting a date. I have talked with many of you about the Integratron. This is a truly magical place. So
i want a group of folks that are aware of there non-corporeal selves to venture here together. Latley I have been feeling the veil slip between the various dimensions in which we exist at any moment. I feel that there is a pull that is drawing me back to the integratron.
The day would consist of the noon sound bath and 2 hours to explore the grounds. I would also hold space for meditations during our visit. So sound off with your interest.

Just got to say, there have been a couple of times in the last week when I've really needed somebody to unload some stuff on, and he's not only been a great friend, he's been willing to tell me unsugarcoated truth in a way I could still process it, and has helped me understand what I need to do.

Not that I've lived up to his excellent counsel, yet, at least ... but it sure helps.

I have a feeling he may be balancing a tightrope to do it, too ...

A week or so ago, Awno went into surgery in order to remove the lumps caused by the aneurysms in his left arm. He's got about two dozen big, gnarly metal staples in there right now.

You may know that Awno has end stage renal disease, which is a severe reduction in kidney function. Essentially, both his kidneys have virtually stopped removing the wastes from his bloodstream. (His doctors don't know why, but some of his relatives have had similar problems, so it may be genetic.)

As a result, he has to go on dialysis. Three days a week, for several hours at a time, a machine draws blood out of his body, filters it, and then feeds it back in. Initially, his doctors inserted a catheter into his arm in order to connect to a major vein and artery there. Because he's been on dialysis for so long, though (since 2000), he developed complications that eventually caused his arm to swell and to no longer be a good dialysis access site. He now has a graft in his leg that won't cause the same problem, and that allowed him to get surgery to remove the lumps.

The long-term medical solution is to get a kidney transplant, but there's no predicting how soon that could take place. It can take years to find a potential donor (mainly because U.S. law requires that people expressly sign up to become a donor if they should die).

I wrote this for the Jewish holiday of Passover, which is celebrated this week. In Hebrew every holiday has several names and one of those for Passover is: "The holiday of freedom". It is set to celebrate the exodus of the Israelites at the time of the Egyptian Empire from slavery into freedom.

My wish for all of us is that we too will take the path from slavery to freedom in our own life.

Living in Positivity

I revisited some old blogs I'd saved from a few years back. While reading them, I was struck by how overwhelmingly negative I was. Granted, after we moved here, the years 00-03 were super difficult, and anyone having gone through what I did might have been in the same place, if not worse.

Things got a little easier for awhile, but then again '05-07 were even more difficult. Granted I had a whole lot more support, and was beginning to worry whether I was leaning to hard on some folks. I don't believe I would have survived last year without those people.

I am now feeling like I am in such a better place now, stronger, generally happier, moving with forward momentum.

I worry though. Sometimes just one little thing might upset the delicate balance, and it's so difficult to rebound from. I struggle with staying positive with all the day-today business of living and surviving.

How do you stay positive? I know some people who say it's just a decision to choose happiness and to BE happy, but where do you chose happiness and still deal with the things that are difficult, scary or painful? What do you do to turn yourself around?

The ring.....

Awno is one of my oldest burner friends, from Alma 2006
and I have lots of stories. lol But as his unofficial "wife" I think
this story is necessary as part of the history of Awno in this community.

At BM 2006 my guy (Bad-Dawg) and I renewed our vows in the RLD camp.
It was incredible, done right under the stripper pole. We exchanged vows
with the RLD community circled around us, then exchanged new rings.
And then everyone went off to party for the night. It was a great time!
Anyhow a few weeks later I saw Awno at a BBQ in San Diego and as
we talked I noticed a ring on his thumb. I couldn't stop looking at it.
And finally I said, "that is such a cool ring, it looks exactly like our old
wedding rings..." to which he explained that he had found is lying on
the ground at Burning Man. Somehow in all that sand, Awno found the
ring that we didn't even know we'd lost and had been wearing it ever
since. I was wearing the matching ring on my other hand thus why he
jokes that I'm his "wife".... when in actuality he's just a very dear friend.

I just love this playadipity story....
