Hurray! Membership in this tribe has finally exceeded 100 members. OK, only by 1, but I'm thrilled that you all cared enough to join! Thank you all for joining and being such loyal customers and friends.

I need to make room for some new merchandise so I will be posting some sale items here within the next couple of weeks. That is, if Tribe remains stable. Be sure to tell your dancing friends and invite them to join, too!

MedFest 2008 is here!

For those of you in the Seattle area and those of you who will be visiting...

Come check out MedFest... Seattle's largest annual belly dance event, the Mediterranean Fantasy Festival!

I'll be vending again this year in a double booth located in the same spot as last year... end of the West center row farthest from the stage and closest to the kiddie pond. It's also directly across from the side entrance to the indoor stage.

Just like last year it's one-stop tribal shopping as they've located the large tribal vendors all right next to each other again for your convenience.

Tribal Fest... the rest of it!

Wow! What an incredible festival! I had soooo much fun, met so many great people, melted in the heat, and spent way too much money on glorious goodies!

I didn't get to see but a few moments of a few performances, but those I did see were awesome. I was fortunate enough to be cutting through the performance hall on the way back to my booth while Rachel was on stage. Yum! I also caught a few moments of Sabine with double swords, and almost all of Tricia from Portland's performance which was really quite lovely. I saw a few moments of a few others, but I wasn't sure who they were and didn't have a program handy. I'm just hoping that many performers post videos on YouTube.

I had an incredible helper, Patrice, who is a veteran dancer and costumer. She worked incredibly hard, never complained about the grueling hours in the heat, and shared her years of costuming wisdom and knowledge with all the customers! I couldn't have done it without her! Thank you, Patrice!

The days were long and hot, however, all the wonderful customers and friends that came into the booth over and over again to hang out and shop kept me energized and going, going, going! I met many Tribe friends, too, for the first time.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Silk Road Tribal's second vending experience at Tribal Fest a huge success! I love my job and I love my customers!!!

Tribal Fest Day Two

Local reports were that the temp today was about 100 to 103 degrees! The parasols are selling fast! Everyone was melting. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 90s. It will seem cool in comparison!

Those taking workshops in the air-conditioned building are thrilled they signed up for that workshop! Regardless of the heat everyone is happy to be there and in high spirits!

The shoppers are still out and about and spending all their hard earned cash with all the fabulous, incredible vendors. There's soooo much cool merchandise here this year! I'm having to restrain myself!

Well, Tribal Fest is less than two weeks away. I'm receiving shipments almost daily of new merchandise. I'm going to be stocked chock full of new goodies for ya all!

My double-space Bedouin Booth will be located out in the labyrinth. I'll have a big banner across the front so you won't be able to miss me! I'll be vending Wednesday through Sunday so lots of time to shop! And, don't forget... I do take Mastercard and Visa as well as cash.

Mah feet hurt!

After two weekends in a row of vending my feet are a wee bit tired.

2008 Emerald Rain bellydance Competition & Fete

It's that time of year again!!!

March 7-9 at the Hawthorn Inn in Arlington, WA.

10 categories to choose fro, shopping, open dancing, door prizes and drawings, Sisterhood of the Dance and Behind the Scenes awards, laughing and good friends.

Deadline for registration is February 15, 2008.

Don't forget the call in for Fete Dancing is January 20 at noon. Spaces are limited! This is a great way to perform without competing. Please speak with an actua person... don't leave a message as we need information from you as to day and times you would like to dance.

Friday night will be the Gal Fundraiser to benefit Kyra, (for those of you who are unaware Kyra has had serious health problems and then this last Spring lost her only child in a car accident). There will be a silent auction as well as raffels, all proceeds of Friday night will go to Kyra and her family.

Sunday morning at 10:00am will be the Gypsy Sword workshop. $25 preregister and $30 at the door. The workshop will be taught by our hostess for the weekend... Melody! For an hour... or maybe a little longer... she will teach you all the tricks of the Basque Gypsies as well as a few from Turkey and the Middle east.

Wow! Thank you to every single one of you who came out to our Caravan Stop at Ottoman Trading Company during the past five weeks. Today, at the Totally Tribal Hafla, was the icing on the cake! What fun!

We can't thank you enough for your business, your friendships, your costuming ideas, and the pure look of joy on your faces when you find exactly what you've been looking for! We are truly blessed to have every one of you in our lives!

Tomorrow we pack up the bundles, load the camels, and head out on our next journey. The camels will be arriving in Woodinville, WA by the end of the week just in time for Hafla al-Madeena!

Tribal Fest 2007

We'll be vending at Tribal Fest 2007 all five days, Wednesday through Sunday. We'll have a double booth located outside in the grassy labyrinth. We will be located between Desert Dancer Imports and Alter Egos.

We've been stocking up with all kinds of tribal goodness for your shopping pleasure! We just received a shipment from India and one from Turkey. And, another one from Pakistan is on its way!

Come by the booth and introduce yourself. Stay a while. Relax. We'd love to get to know you!
