Hello everyone,
I recently blogged about this, but I really need to find a good tan removal lotion.
The jist is that I just got a burn from swimming after the sun already went down, and the only thing I hate more then sun burn is the tan that inevitably follows.
Since I've obviously become oversensitive, I really would like to try to remove some of the uneven coloring taking place on areas like the top of my chest, and my forearms.
There are lots of websites out there that give "home" remedies, but the ingrediants are not easily obtained, and I'm not really willing to be playing around with glycernine (nasty stuff). Besides, these sites never give any feedback as to what works. The last thing I need to do is ruin some clothes, or a new hair color, because I've slathered myself with a mixure of lemon juice and peroxide.
SO....
If anyone knows a TRIED and TRUE lotion/creme out there, I'd be really glad to hear of it. I don't mind ordering over the net, or importing either.

I recently acquired a skull (cheap and plastic--do you know how much the decent ones go for??) and it looks like the painted resin it is. I'd like to use this as part the still life for some modern day vanitas paintings (oooh, so nifty), so it needs to look bone-like, which it doesn't.

I was disappointed to find that Google can't tell me everything--most searches for "stain skull acrylic" (or similar) got me suggestions for Halloweeny stuff, or just to use MinWax Mahogany...way too dark. It doesn't need to look Neolithic, just like bone.

The plan was to sand it down some to take some of the glossy-ness away and then use washes of acrylic paint in yellow ochre and burnt umber. Not sure what to do about the teeth. The teeth are crap. Suggestions? Better ideas?

*sigh* You know, I work right next to the medical school, and I know they have corpses in anatomy, I wonder if I could ask and, y'know, get a leftover or something. Probably not legal, but one can hope. ;)

We have some large antiques, and on the shelves and inside curio cabinets you'll find our very large collection of Vampire Movies and books, books on Witchcraft, True Crime.. Jack the Ripper and so on.
Many of these are right along side classical music selections, the kid's movies and so on..
There really isn't much that is obvious.

Then there is the Office, where it is the most Gothy room we have, complete with an Iron Door Knocker and a Gargoyle.

I'm forever longing to paint and decorate for a more.... Gothy feel. But, I may have to stick to an idea... Draping dark fabric on the walls... There is only one problem with that.... It would attract dog and cat hair.

My hubby and I spent over a week refurbishing a room in our house. Its never really had a purpose until now. Lucky for us the two layers of wallpaper had old paste on them. We could literally rip the paper off of entire walls in one piece! Yay!

Ken and I tried to go for the English victorian library look with rich dark wall colors (name of dark wine paint is Flur de Lis) and dark stained wood. We think it turned out just perfect... rather a subtle romantic goth look.
