i joined the yahoo group several years ago, though i haven't been good about keeping up on things.

i've got a 1980 international 26' gas schoolie, still yellow. it's treated us great, and only has 55K original miles. i hope to remodel it over the next year or two as it's fairly utilitarian right now (bare pine 2x4's don't mesh well with my mid-century modern asthetic ;)

unfortunately, life has kept my wife and me from getting out camping as much as we've wanted the last year, but that'll change next summer. looking forward to sharing ideas with other skoolieheads as learning from each other's mistakes.

Steve, I admire you for venturing out to live full-time in the bus. I bought my bus last year (1989 Chev. 366 gas full size) and I'm hooked on the skoolie idea now. Mine is more for weekends at NASCAR and the like. My wife thought I was crazy but the idea is growing on her. I still have to park it at a buddie's house though. She was tired of her friends asking her if she was driving bus part time. That helped convince her that it had to be painted right away. But that's another story...
