bieng totally new to tribes i am still investigating them. i have a lot to learn. like how do you connect/disconnect connected tribes. i have already started a few and joined several. i cannot seem to fathom how the tribes connect. for instance i wanted this tribe to link to other tribes beside the one shown. anyone have instruction?
it seems to me that one of the distinct advantages of tribes is thier graphics capacity. since i can find no FILES the CLUB PHOTOS will be used for "COVER PHOTOS" of members skoolies. you know what i mean? exterior quarter shots. put your name in the title so interested parties can find your personal album. put ANYTHING YOU WANT in your personal album. and apparantly as much of it as you want. PLEASE POST a PHOTO to your profile. it can be ANY PHOTO of ANYTHING. i am sure you notice the difference in acceptable content here vs. groups.
another plus for tribes is that when you search it ALL instants of the word appear. boy do i wish groups had that. SOOOOOO it appears that if we are going to build any how-to capabilities HERE we will have to START THE SUBJECTS NOW! NOW!
THATS where YOU the members come in. help me by thinking of the most asked questions and posting NEW SUBJECTS so the the threads can get going. instead of WAITING for questions lets make this a pro-active tribe. lets hear what YOU DID in any particular area of your conversion. i'll get some started. tell us what you did. the subject matter can be ANYTHING. if you have ideas about how we can make this tribe better please post them.
i am really counting on the membership to build this TRIBE !
thanks for joining.

Re: this tribe
Sun, December 11, 2005 - 11:14 AMDAMN! wouldn't you know it!!!! i joined TRIBE because of thier laize faire method of operation. within one month of my joining they make a BUNCHA FUCKIN RULES. pisses me off. i can understand the porn censorship as a matter required by law. but the rest is BULLSHIT!!! why do they make rules saying EVERYBODY BE NICE???? EVERYBODY AGREE blah fuckin blah fuckin blah! wake up CHILDREN it ain't reality. tooooo bad you just couldn't let things progress NATURALLY. thats non-exclusive, that allows for stimulating conversation. but hey it's ALL ABOUT CONTROL EH?? -

Re: this tribe
Mon, December 12, 2005 - 1:20 PMAgreed, its outrageous. Maybe ultimately the way places like tribe have to go is something like a peer-to-peer network ala the old Napster.
But there is still a chance, the real test is not the Fine Print, but in the Enforcement. I live in a world of lawyers and contracts and I can tell you that thousands of words, dollars, and hours spent are nothing more than a smokescreen put in place to molify The Man.
The real deal is never any more or less than what my counterpart and I shook hands on at dinner the night before the legal army starts churning out paper.
So, until they start actually shutting down Tribes or kicking people off, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. The TOU may just be empty words thrown up to feed to The Beast. Empty words, are of course, The Beast's favorite food. -

Re: this tribe
Sat, December 17, 2005 - 6:03 PMya i think you are right. we can hope they are hollow words to placate. thats about what yahoo is. but since i ain't into porn i wouldn't know :) the real test IS in the enforcement. but who has the balls? big moola involved. or even WHY? because some ASSHOLE is fucking it up for everyone else. i am sick to death of losing my liberties "FOR THE CHILDRENS" sake. even sicker of POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, NETIQUETTE, POLITENESS respect etc. etc. ALL forms of CENSORSHIP bearing NO RELATION to the legalities of the situation or the realities of life. but hey it's FREE so i'll give the benefit of the doubt too.

Sat, December 17, 2005 - 5:44 PMbut on the other hand it is FREE of cost if NOT FREE of control. so lets use it. we have ALREADY HELPED one person with thier insurance problem. so for my money we already broke even :)) let's try to help more people solve more problems.

Re: this tribe
Sun, December 18, 2005 - 3:38 AMYep it sucks.I had a whole ID removed by Yahoo because of a TOS issue. While it would have been just as easy to ban me or remove me from a group who was offended by a statement I made. Now here is the worst part.I wanted my screen name back but ofcourse couldn't get it.So I came up with a similar name.Used my real information, name, birthday, and zip code. When setting up the account. But that was all. When I went to add a profile they already had my old profile associated with my new screen name. They also had credit information from my past screen name added to my new account.CONTROL AND BIG BROTHER????Messed with my mind for sure.

Re: this tribe
Sat, February 18, 2006 - 6:14 AMOK i'll put it another way... think of groups.yahoo.com/group/sch...versionuts as the LIBRARY and tribe as the CAMPFIRE... i hope we can avail ourselves of members OFFSUBJECT expertise here.
