Sonic Bloom is partnering with Our Future Now, a non-profit project promoting ecological responsibility through greening initiative programs, high-profile awareness campaigns and community involvement opportunities. Our Future Now's focus is to enhance the experience at music festivals by introducing compelling art and technology demonstrations. These installations will showcase ecologically responsible best practices and renewable energy technologies while providing a framework for deeper community participation. We are implementing a series of measures that will make this year's Sonic Bloom an ecologically responsible event. Our goals are to minimize waste and make this event as carbon neutral as possible. Beaver Meadows Resort Ranch

One of the sounds that grew out of the laptop music micro-movement that kicked off in San Francisco in the 90's -glitch- is finally trickling down to party people at large, and was even much gossiped about at Burning Man this year. What was once the domain of nerds and their dateless friends has been juiced up and smuggled into the ever-present post-hippy-raver breakbeat scene. Leading the advance is the Glitch Mob, an amorphous crew of local DJ-producers. Taking crunk and other urban pop music as its canvas to shred, the Glitch Mob manages to keep the dread-out yoga kids moving.

Saxton will be in the house for Sonic Bloom 2007, where he will not only be dropping a visual symphony of light on his boys during their PA set, but will continue to stick around high country all weekend long & serve as Sonic Bloom 2007’s resident LD. Anybody who has experienced one of Saxton’s dynamic light spectaculars, knows that we may very well be on the brink of something epic. Taking the concept of old psychedelic screen projections to new levels, the technology & lights themselves become another instrument that Saxton utilizes to create that signature, multi-dimensional production quality of his craft that has many enthusiasts dropping his name right along side names like Kuroda & Brightman.

Try this story on for size: three upstarts in Memphis use their classical and jazz training to hammer out beat-driven compositions encompassing the funkiness of the jam scene and the mind-bending progressions of electronica. The young bucks known as Pnuma Trio instantly find themselves in high demand, playing nearly two hundred dates in 2006 alone. Yet despite their success, Pnuma Trio hasn't stopped developing artistically. The new year brings with it a move for the crew – from the rock and roll birthplace of Memphis to their new digs, in the cool mountain air of Boulder, Colorado – but more importantly, for their music. A 100% organic, improvised experience, each Zilla concert proves to be a completely new occurrence. LYNX (aka Caitlin DeMuth), born and raised in Colorado, started playing guitar at the age of seven, sax at the age of 11 and started beat-boxing at the age of 14. Caitlin's all original music ranges from acoustic folk to looped live beat box with a touch of hip hop, funk and electronic jams. Over the past few years Caitlin has performed with Kan'nal, Zilla, Hamsa lila, Bassnectar and many more. She is currently getting ready to record her first studio album to be called FOLKTRONIC due out in June 07!!!

Bay Area producer and DJ Shakatura creates a lush and positive fusion of dubbed-over breaks, tribal house, and world rhythms. He has performed as a DJ at major festivals including Shambhala, Rainbow Serpent, Earth Dance, Fusion, Burning Man and now Sonic Bloom. A prolific studio alchemist, Shakatura has released music on Ceiba, Looq, Interchill, and CyberOctave records. He will do a late set and a set with friend, Sasha Butterfly Rose

Michael Kang - Artist at Large

Michael Kang is a multi-instrumentalist for the popular jam band The String Cheese Incident. The mandolin is his primary instrument, although he plays violin on several songs, and guitar rarely. He is a key part of the band, providing both a melodic and rhythmic sound. In addition to his integral role in SCI, Kang has participated in several well-received side projects. Notable among these was the 2000 album Head West by the collaboration called Comotion. Musicians joining Kang in the studio included Jeff Sipe and Tye North of Leftover Salmon, progressive bluegrass musicians Paul McCandless, Darol Anger, and Mike Marshall, and drummer Aaron Johnson. More recently he is found playing with the band Panjea and with Chris Berry.

Aaron has a vault of unreleased material (hundreds of tunes) that will be cracked open and looted for hidden gemz, but more importantly, brand new Jointz are being created daily....

The Motet

Using the rich musical landscape of Boulder, Colorado as their muse, The Motet has mastered the delicate task of constantly reinventing their sound while staying true to their various roots. Founded in 1998 by Dave Watts, The Motet has become one of the best improvisational bands touring today. Their ability to seamlessly fuse elements of afro-beat, indie-rock, funk, and jazz has led to a sound that defies categorization. EOTO: Michael Travis & Jason Hann

EOTO plays twice during the festival. Jason Hann (percussionist of String Cheese Incident) and Michael Travis (drummer of SCI and ZILLA), come together to create EOTO (End Of Time Observatory). EOTO is a brand new, 100% improvised, live-looping project. Drawing from the ethos of some of the great DJ's and computer artists of the world, they use cutting edge loop technology to create truly original and melodic dance music in the moment, with the undeniable power of live drums. The music is all created on the spot, looped, then mixed and remixed live to create an ever evolving musical experience. Hann and Travis play different roles in this band than in SCI. Hann plays the drum kit, percussion and sampler, while Travis is in charge of the tonal elements, playing bass, guitar, and keyboards, and hand percussion and live mixing.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Kris D graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Georgia. He currently lives in Athens, GA and San Francisco, CA. Kris balances his time working devoutly in his studio painting as well as collaborating with musicians by doing live performance painting. Kris has created hundreds of performance paintings over the past six years. When he was 15, Kris began a series of what he would refer to as doodles. Although he has drawn since before he can remember, it was at this point when he began working with the geometrical subject matter that is characteristic of all of his work. These doodles have and still are developing into the pattern intensive compositions that permeate his paintings.

Bil will collaborate live with ZILLA in addition to having his own set. Son of the Electric Ghost (SOTEG) also know as Bil Bless, is finally starting to get the recognition he deserves. He has become a household name among the truest of breaks heads. SOTEG has played Trigger in the UK more than any other American, released numerous tracks on his own label (Bless Records) and continues to push the envelope in the world of beats and bass.
