Soul Crew Number One,
First off, Happy Holidays y'all. And secondly, when i look back on 2006 only one word comes to mind: "damnmuthafuckaswhatthehellwasthatcanigetanother"! I'm totally overwhelmed when i think of the year this group of peeps created together. Brilliant and alive. Gorgeous and stellar. We are truly blessed to have what we have in this family of friends spanning the country from New York to Los Angeles, San Francisco to Philly. So from me to you, thanks a ton for your energies and goodness in 2006.
A few SOULICIOUS '06 manifestations worth mentioning:
• Our fund raisers and collective hard work raised camp, raised the Hopium Den and raised the vibes on the playa.
• Abby Girvin becomes Mrs. Stephen Clark in the most entertaining wedding of all time (complete with custom MuffHeadz hats and magic brownies for the entire family.)
• Ashram and Soulicious play nice together in the world's greatest sandbox.
• Joseph Bertot Perez lands his first major motion picture, acting on screen with Mr. Tommy Lee Jones.
• East meets West meets North meets South. The soul crew becomes a national love puddle.
• Caparro and Braden lay it down at the SOULICIOUS holiday party. Props to Andrew for opening his home.
• The Philadelphia Experiment is in the House! Welcome Lee Mayjahs, Rafael and Marques!
• The SOULICIOUS decom at the Standard Hotel was beautiful.
• Debi Mae's bowling B-Day rocks it hard.
• Wiseacre brings the love to the 212 crew at a few choice spots.
• We've heard on many occasions from complete strangers "who are you people?", complete with a hug.
• Juan Carlos still wears his "Thursday" shirt on thursdays. Sometimes on fridays too.
• There's gotta be a ton more, feel free to chime in..
Bruce, Dale and I are off for our excursions in Asia. We'll be celebrating Christmas, New Year's and Dale's B-day Bash in Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. Also scouting for new playa gear for both camps (maybe we'll bring back a 4-story tall Buddha for our BRC landmark.) On the return trip, I'm flying from Bangkok to Baja for dennis' big weekend. Nothing solves the jetlag problem like a bachelor party in Mexico with 2 houses on the beach. Alright amigos, see you in the new year, sometime in late Jan.
Hello 2007.
Mad love,
Kevin
