ecological assessment B

Anyone else struggling? Suppose I should look at the readings to see if there is instruction on how to do a discrepancy analysis.

Not sure how to use the second form, so I am guessing. Just have no time to redo anything this quarter.

    Unfortunately not there yet. Not enough time for homework, dammit. I do think the readings are more helpful this quarter though. Hopefully there will be the info you seek there. If more people would join up on this tribe the answers we seek may be answered. :)

      I agree. Hope others join. It took me 6 hours to complete the Eco Assessment. Nothing in the readings about what we need to put in the second chart, so I guessed.

      Now, I am slogging my way through the communication project. I am not sure if I am hitting the mark. I wish we had some more direction. I feel like in each section I am repeating myself. Wish it wasn't worth so much. So far, it is 8 pages long with the first 3 sections complete and notes for the other 7.

      One more hour tonight, maybe I can find another 6 this week before class and I am going to have to call it quits.

        Lesley!!! You have to be kidding. I cannot believe that your communication project is already 8 pages long. I am (or thought I was almost done) at 5 pages. Damn, that must mean I am really hitting the mark.

    Yes, I am having difficulties as well. All the activites I have observed are more "academic" vs. a more life skill. I haven't even gotten to the discrepancy analysis yet. I am hoping Jackie can help clarify things on Wed.

      I am going to see if I can elicit examples from previous generations who have attacked this assignment. I'll know tomorrow. I will let you know if I can wrangle up an example or two. This assignment is showing in crystalline fashion how divergent my students are compared to our current crop of assignments. This is an interesting quarter to say the least.

        Yeah i can't do the ecological assessment. I'm actually sick right now and didn't go to my student teaching so I am going to try to figure this one out. If i can not do it today I"m going to ask her if she can give us some examples.

        My communication project is almost 8 pages typed single spaced. I"M CRAZY!! I don't understand part VIII what are the communicative responses that will motivate a student to interact socially? I need examples.

        Also where does the vocabulary invetory fit in? I think it goes in VIII and how do you do it. this is all i need and i'm finished.

        I totally do not care if i just get B's this quarter. I"m sick of school, and i have to much work to do at my job.

          I don't get the ecological inventory, or part VII of the communications project. I wrote something up for part VII, and I think that I'm pretty much done with the cmmunications project with six pages. I have nothing for the ecological inventory. I don't get what she's looking for. Why did Jackie give us assignments that she never went over?

            Thank you for mentioning part VIII of the Comm Project. So far, I have one paragraph on the section and it is the same sentence repeated a few different ways. My paper will probably end up being about 12 pages double spaced. It doesn't seem like I am saying anything meaningful.

            The Ecological Assessment was a bear and I doubt I did it right (I had to do a switcheroo on the students a little, which was OK-ed by my supervisor and master teacher). I wish she had given us the extra week she took when she gave us the assignment late.

            I am going to hand both papers in tomorrow and hope for the best. I am completely burned out on both.

    I am struggling too. But since she gave the assignment on Thursday evening, I won't even be at my placement until tomorrow. So I asked for an extension. It's like A right? We just have to see where our student is doing it differently? I am finding that in the Kindergarten class, I don't have anything for this student that I did not cover in the Behavior Increase/Decrease.
    In terms of the Communication Project. I am battling through it without having any information. There have been aide changes, problems with the parent and the student has been absent. All the rest of my student's Communication is not an Issue or they already have an ACC device. UGH! My master teacher is e-mailing her, but she already said that its still due Thursday. Not sure what she expects me to do with missing information.
