So here I am trying to weed out all these assignments. I realize I haven't gotten my behavior plan back still, so how can I do the functional assessment without the ABC Data and baseline data? UGH! Also, what assessment strategies are we supposed to be using? The stuff from the communication class?

Re: Functional Assessment & Communication Assigment
Sun, November 12, 2006 - 10:36 PMAny idea what she is looking for in Part A of the communication assignment? I am not sure what to put here. And is she serious about writing an instructional program for part III? Like what we turn into our supervisors but having to do with communication? -

Re: Functional Assessment & Communication Assigment
Tue, November 14, 2006 - 12:26 PMKasey, I believe she wants an instructional program. I am relieved that that part is so well explained.
For part A, I described what I am going to teach my student to say. He is able to communicate with oral language, but probably would do best with scripted responses to peer-initated greetings. I have it easy. My student is a social butterfly and very well liked, he just needs the tools to be able to respond to greetings appropriately.
For part B, I am struggling somewhat. I am teaching a script and appropriate response to an offer of handshake/Hi-Five.
For part C, I am not teaching using a communication system, since he talks
For part D, I am teaching in both the natural environment with his peers present and while walking down the hallway of the school when peers are not present.
Not sure how it is all going to look in the final project. My assignments have gotten a lot shorter. My Functional Assessment is 3.5 pages, my Ed History is 5, my Comm Project II is going to be about 7 including the instructional program.
Good luck! See you tonight.
