I just spoke with Michael Glenn and it is official. Spherecamp is going to be held December 5-7 at Recreation Plantation in Dripping Springs. Since we are going to have more space I hope one of you crazies totes a German Wheel and wants to teach me how, they look fun... ;) I googled it and it looks like a super sweet spot: www.rpcampground.com/
I think this is gonna be the best spherecamp yet. I will definately be there and hope to do a playshop on hat juggling/rolling/spinning. Who else is coming?

Re: Official Spherecamp West Location Change
Wed, October 22, 2008 - 3:11 PM"Rec Plant" is an awesome location.
I have every intention of being there, work is a possible problem.
Any hints of possible special guests????? :) -

Re: Official Spherecamp West Location Change
Thu, October 23, 2008 - 8:31 AMThe only special guest I have heard of so far is Arsene Dupin. I hear that he may do some workshops and also a performance for us. If you have yet to find out who he is check this video out: www.youtube.com/watch He is an amazing performer! -

Re: Official Spherecamp West Location Change
Thu, October 23, 2008 - 4:24 PMI enjoyed seeing Arsene last year. His playshop was Extremely interesting, and crowded.
I would have loved to have gotten a bit more out of it, but I could not really see waht was going on.

Re: Official Spherecamp West Location Change
Fri, October 24, 2008 - 4:52 PMThe website hasn't been updated yet. So it's $60 for the whole weekend? Are there bunks in the cabins/rooms? -
-
Re: Official Spherecamp West Location Change
Fri, October 24, 2008 - 8:22 PMDont think so on the cabins/rooms, and you will be having to spend some money at the gate for the camping($20 for the weekend-F,S,into sun). I am glad that we will have an actual stage this year...as well as a place we can burn at without leaving. This is definately a plus. :) -

Re: Official Spherecamp West Location Change
Fri, October 31, 2008 - 9:36 PMHi Everyone,
Things have been strange for us lately (I will explain at a future date) but we are quite happy with what we've got in store for Spherecamp this year.
There is more information on Sphereplay.com don't pay attention to what's on the TryOut Toys website ( this is part of the weirdness of our lives right now)
Things are quite different this year since we had the new venue change, we are excited to have a stage, live music, several professional performers, some late night fun with fire, meals and more. Our prices are similar to last year but the structure has changed, since we will no longer be working within the McKinney Falls guidelines.
We expected to have up Registration in the next 48 hours and are offering early registration discounts, so please check back at www.sphereplay.com and we will keep everyone updated here at tribe.
Look forward to seeing you in about a month!
Be great!
Michael Glenn -

Re: Official Spherecamp West Location Change
Mon, November 3, 2008 - 9:27 AMHey Friends! I will be looking for a ride to Austin TX any time after Thanksgiving from North Carolina. If there is anyone planning on going from the east coast that would like some extra gas moolah and the added joy of my usual thomfoolery, ...hit me up. Otherwise I will have to give greyhound my money ... and I would rather give it to someone who will spend it on toys, ;) -

Re: Official Spherecamp West Location Change
Thu, November 6, 2008 - 2:32 PMIs this an open invitation, to all skill toy related people? I could post it up on a couple of Austin area burn related tribes.
Is there any danger of it getting "too big?" -

Re: Official Spherecamp West Location Change
Fri, November 7, 2008 - 1:48 PMHi Rex! It's totally open, the more the merrier! There's plenty of space and the new site is the recreation plantation in dripping springs, so you (and they) might have been there for flip side decompression this year. We'll be burning and playing late into the night...Thanks! -

Re: Official Spherecamp West Location Change
Fri, November 7, 2008 - 5:07 PMIs there any more information available? Start/end times, registration fee, etc. I noticed the new SP site hasn't been fully updated to the new location. It's getting to the point of planning for me to either go for it or scratch it. ATM, it's looking like a 12 hour drive or a $300 round trip flight. Ouch. -

Mon, November 10, 2008 - 8:43 AMYo-yo-Yo Monkey man... just so ya know I looked it up and I found a $194 round trip from Manchester to San Antonio if you are interested in hopping on a metal birds back. On another note, I am so excited about sphere camp! I am eager to geek out with all my friends and show you all the crazy stuff I have been breaking the mold with.
