The McReavy House Museum of Hood Canal is delighted to invite you to a
Lecture/Performance/Reading by Guest, Henry Quintero.
Quintero will discuss the role of songs from the peyote culture of the Apache and other Native American nations. He will discuss the way the origin of these songs, how these songs are adopted by singers and preserved in an oral tradition, and the work of these songs in Native American Church ceremonies. Quintero will perform songs and read from his own work.
Quintero is Apache and Mexican and spends his time between the Southwest and the rest of the world, traveling to perform ceremonies as a Roadman in the Native American Church and also to honor his duties as a Tibetan Buddhist. Quintero received his Masters in Fine Arts (Poetry) at Arizona State University. He translates, archives and sings Native American Church songs; he performs, prays and publishes widely.

This event is free and open to the all. Parking is limited to 60-65 spots. Ridesharing is greatly appreciated. If you are interested in helping before and after to prepare and restore the space, please contact Todd Fredson (todd@hctc.com).
* President of the McReavy House, Mike Fredson, met for the better part of a day with Claire Bishop from the Seattle Foundation. The McReavy House is in various stages of the grant application process with several agencies. We continue to seek grants and funding and are constantly encouraged by the support of McReavy House members.
