March Forth is . . .
. . . a gathering of good friends, great music by DJ's Alxndr (Downlow), Goyo (Uptempo Productions), and Donna Matrix (rEvolution, Panda Rejects) and a bonfire to keep you toasty as the sun goes down. We're raising awareness about sustainable use of Ocean Beach and having some fun in the process!
When: Sunday, March 4th, 2:00-7:30 pm
What: Beach Cleanup with good friends + a groovin' afterparty
Where: Ocean Beach, stairway 20
Why: Ocean Beach needs our help! Irresponsible burning and littering leave OB covered in litter. You and your friends can help by lending a few hours of your time for a good cause.
Who: All are welcome. Make new friends, clean up the beach. Enroll as many people as you can to join us!
RSVP here: tinyurl.com/3bbxno
Schedule:
2:00 Meet at stairway 20, just down from the sand dunes at Lincoln Ave. and Great Highway
- A member of our team will provide you with garbage bags and gloves (we'll have a table set up)
4:00 Cleanup complete
4:30 DJ's start spinning records
4:30-7:30 Par-tay (Alxndr, Goyo and Donna Matrix!)
6:00 Sunset
7:30 Party winds down-- everybody lends a hand to clean up
Bonfire-DJ's-drumming-marshmallows-good peeps...a beach party in March!
* Bring warmish clothing for daylight and afterdaylight. Bring your own food and refreshments to keep hydrated. Bring hot dogs or marshmallows and a coat hanger to use to roast them! We'll also be taking donations for the Ocean Beach Foundation which is working to build fire rings at Ocean Beach to ensure responsible burning.
* Help spread the Word:
Burn only clean wood
No Cans, Bottles or wood with nails such as pallets
Leave No Trace
Use the firepits to be installed in April
IF WE DON'T FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE RULES, BON FIRES WILL BE BANNED AT OCEAN BEACH.
Note: it is the Ocean Beach policy not to have alcoholic beverages on the beach. If some should happen to appear, they should be in non-descript plastic containers. For more on responsible beach fire policies please click here.
