topic posted Sun, May 6, 2007 - 11:28 PM by  Robt.
This is a topic for accumulating the food shopping list.

If you are Planning a Recipe for the gathering
you can post your ingredients here for the Shopping List.

You may be asked to purchase certain items, a special spice or condiment, say.

Please check back here to see which items you will need to bring.

If you buy food for the gathering, consider the purchase part of your registration fee.
so, if you were planning on donating $100 for registration
and you are able to buy $20 worth of groceries for meals
then reducing your registration fee to $80 and
That way eliminating an accounting reimbursement.

    Dry goods:
    3 packages whole wheat pasta (12-16 oz ea) either spirals or pene (whole wheat/durum)
    1 cup rice
    1/2 cup CASHEW PIECES (for 2 vegan servings)
    Canned goods
    6 cans diced TOMATOES (I like "Roasted Garlic" flavor or herb flavored)
    3 cans whole, Large, pitted BLACK OLIVES. (the bigger the better)
    6 cans GARBANZO beans (chick peas) 15.5 oz ea. or 93 oz total
    2 bottles of good VINAIGRETTE. (like Good Seasons Sun dried Tomato)

    Produce
    2 large ONIONS (prefer red onions)
    1 1/2 stalks CELERY
    1/2 cup minced FLAT LEAF PARSLEY (optional)
    2 GREEN PEPPERS and one CUCUMBER (optional)

    Canned goods
    6 cans diced TOMATOES (I like "Roasted Garlic" flavor or herb flavored)
    3 cans whole, Large, pitted BLACK OLIVES. (the bigger the better)
    6 cans GARBANZO beans (chick peas) 15.5 oz ea. or 93 oz total
    2 bottles of good VINAIGRETTE. (like Good Seasons Sun dried Tomato)

    Dairy & Cooler food
    4 (or 6) cups MOZZARELLA Cheese 'Finely" Shredded.
    2 cup PARMESAN Cheese Shredded.

    I suggest we buy pre-shredded cheese and Freeze them.
    They would act as a refrigerant and be thawed by Sunday.
    I won't be taking a cooler with me.

    I will buy the Salad Dressing.
    I'm not sure of the Size of the institutional cans, if one of those is too big for the Garbanzo beans.
    I could buy the canned goods too, but I might end up taking the bus
    in which case I will need to pack super light or maybe I take a shopping bag?

    I couldn't decide on 4 or 6 cups for the mozzarella.
    If folks may be big cheese eaters, well because it's easy when you self-serve to take more.
    If we buy 6 cups, the extra left over from lunch could be placed in the breakfast nook cooler.

    * cumin * ~ fer sure fer sure

    * sea salt *

    * baking soda *

    * Bragg's *

    * raw apple cider vinegar *

    * olive oil *

    plus I'm a bigtime * lemon * queen

      I also need a few onions. Oh and I as thinking lemon for lemonade would be rather lovely. So maybe 5 lemons; I can get them if the food shopping has already been done.
