Perspective

I feel inspired to give my own personal perspective on where we are, as this Faerie Spirit Gathering is unfolding in quite a different way from the last three.

~ Inspiration ~
E!ureka, Dragon & White Ash attended a Shaman's Gathering many years ago at Zuni Mountain Sanctuary in New Mexico, and on the way home, we committed to creating something similar for our region of faes. We wanted to offer another gathering option for the Northwoods tribe, and also a chem-free option for the larger faerie community. We also wanted for this region to experience a gathering with a spiritual focus and a flexible framework, with events / classes / workshops / rituals coming from our own.

~ Implosion ~
During and after the third FSG, I, White Ash, was feeling like we had put a lot of time, energy and focus into calling for something magnanimous for the larger faerie community which yielded less than glowing results. I felt exhausted, defeated, and like the whole of faeriedom was tanking. During the initial Planning Circles for the 4th Annual FSG, we came to a place where the process needed to morph in a huge way.

~ Rebirth ~
It became clear to me that we had been so focussed in the past on ride coordination, registration, website and postcard design, Call language, et al that we were missing focus on the energetic and ritualistic grid building. It was decided that we needed to drop the Planning Circle paradigm, and begin having Visioning Circles. I personally came to an integration that regardless how logistics got planned or not planned, at a minimum, i would be spending quality time with a dozen to twenty people I care very deeply about, and, if we had to, we could all arrive with three bags of groceries and co-create the events and meals on the spot.

~ Flight ~
This tribe is a tool for us to co-create this year's FSG. This post shares my own thoughts and notices of the process that has led us to this point. I hope others will feel inspired to join us on the virtual and gathering-based journey.

You have posted a suscinct description of the planning and visioning. I have been able to meet with you all on two occasions, both times we talked about finding everyones voice, rather than representing all of Kawashaway and other faes. I hope that this forum allows faeries everywhere to share their visions.

With the intimacy of a smaller group, I am feeling less of a need for endless logistical plans. I talked about this being an unstructured gathering. One that unfolds, where the structure will coalesce of it's own. This came from the idea that "We could all arrive with three bags of groceries and co-create the events and meals on the spot."

Perhaps there is a little bit of planning that needs to take place. I suggest that those who like to plan, will. Someone had told me once, that he was afraid to go to a faerie gathering because he perceived a lack of structure. The man worked a bureaucratic job, where he found comfort in a ridged structure. I don't see his perception as a critique of faeries but an observation. With the emphasis on love and visioning and the spiritual gifts I can bring to the gathering, I have less concern for the logistics.

There are specific things that I would like to bring the the Spirit Gathering, and I want to discuss that at this tribe forum. By unstructured, I am saying without a determined structure. A non-structured event, where you reject all structure would have a structure. If I want to plan, or think on a ritual, event or meal today, I will. That's what I would like to bring: ideas. I am trying to find myself to be more open to that.
