5th Annual Faerie Spirit Gathering
Kawashaway
Thursday 12th – Tuesday 17th June

As Johnnie Cashette sang (wearing a fabulous black number):
"I fell down into a burning wreath of fire"
This year’s Faerie Spirit Gathering will once again explore the crossroads of spirituality and creativity with an overlighting theme of “Circle of Fire”. Each day is designated for a particular activity [tentative schedule]:
Thursday ~ The Circle is Cast
We will have a ritual burning of the Yule Wreath, and will transmute personal physical belongings into our desires for the Spirit Gathering and the future.
Friday ~ Wreaths
Tallgrass will provide space for us to weave our own individual bio-friendly wreaths from the gifts the forest has for us.
Saturday ~ Firewalk
redWing will be helping us play with the stories of our spiritual journeys, as well as making art in the moment with our bodies and voices through InterPlay forms.
Timothy Cope will facilitate a Firewalk ritual.
Sunday ~ Embracing
Firewalk integration with guided meditation and Heart Circle.
White Ash will join our hands in a circle of Sacred Dance (wreaths on head optional).
Monday ~ Co-Creation
We will co-create a bio-friendly art form à la Andy Goldsworthy on the land, possibly incorporating our wreaths.
Tuesday ~ The Circle is Open
We bless our time together and honor our space with our hearts and hands.
As last year, we will observe “Clearing Time" ~ circling together to check in to see what needs done, and to plug in by communally prepping meals through to dishwashing, handling Gathering and Land tasks and attending to individual needs.
What will you be offering as a gift to the community's spiritual wreath? Is there an art/craft form or spiritual practice that you can share with the community? Yoga? Tai Chi? Beadwork? Cross-stitch? Chanting? Drumming? Prayer forms? Collage? You don't necessarily need to "lead", just inspire.
Bring your wreath making supplies, your arts & crafts supplies (scissors, glue, glitter magazines, fabric, jewelry) bring your dancing heart, non-toxic items for the Circle of Burning.
To register: email redWing
To pay online: www.kawashaway.org/contribform.htm
Details and more info can be garnered from the relatively relevant 2006 Call: www.spiritgath.org/2006/details.shtml

Re: Circle of Fire ~ 5th Annual Faerie Spirit Gatheirng
Mon, June 2, 2008 - 7:13 AMI had an (I thought ) amazing idea for our Co-Creation project… I was visiting Jamestown (loved it!), and in the Powhatan village, there was a ritual circle of posts with faces carved at the top. Wouldn’t it be awesome to create a circle of posts (sticks?) with our wreaths on top? We could do ritual inside the circle cast by our wreaths…
I'm hopeful that all our wreath supplies will be bio-friendly. Andy's installations in nature eventually all recycle organically back into the earth. We talked about burning our wreaths as we open the Circle (which coincides with the theme Circle of Fire). I had another idea as well ~ we could place our wreaths in a place less traveled that folks could happen upon and which would eventually decompose...
luv, wa

Re: Circle of Fire ~ 5th Annual Faerie Spirit Gatheirng
Tue, June 24, 2008 - 6:03 AMFaeries dear,
Like Mecca, I have wanted to write about the firewalk. I’m glad to see T6 reaching out. It would be nice to convene as a check-in post Spirit Gath. Is it a sin to have a heart circle in the swirl of Pride nearish to our booth?
This was by far the best Spirit Gath for me. I came back to immediately working towards making Fuzzy Bear’s 60th special, so I too have been in a whirlwind of activity. I knew going into my packed packed packed June that I would look up and it would be July, and that is exactly what is happening. And I’m feeling provided for and glowing embers in my psyche.
Can I just say that I love Clearing Time? That with the intimacy of Spirit Gath really makes the best positive difference for me compared to Lammas. Gath.
Luv u all infinitely,
Blessings,
White Ash
