Oh now that's a good question! I await others responses :)

I find a peace there. It's a good place to retreat to when the rest of the world appears to be upside down with God knows what (which is a lot lately!). It's my place to exhale in the dance, especially in the comfort of other dancers. A good place where you can shed all of your roles (mom, career, wife, etc.) and just be you, if only for a little while...

It's got silly days too. Those days when we just can't get it together but we don't care cuz we're having fun anyway! Or those days when we drill til we feel it! (just remember to breathe!)

I still find peace in the dance, even as the owner and main worrier of the studio. :)

Although we haven't been down (and we want to -- Vickie is serious about starting to come down for Saturdays at least 2 times a month), a dance studio is very specially apart from the rest of my life. The rest of the world can wait outside for an hour or two while I dance.

From the very first time I walked in the door I felt at home and still do.

It is a place where I feel most welcome and gives me a sense that I belong there.
It is where Nayna kicks my butt with drills and constantly challenges me to be better as a dancer.
Having been dancing there for a while I now know that everything I've been through, all the challenges and obsticles in life have ultimately brought me to this place which brings me SO much happiness and joy.

I heart Lotus!

Lotus is where I go to confirm that I'm beautiful... because the whole vibe of the place is just that --- beautiful... and serene... yet wickedly fun when it's called for!
Lotus is the place where I can cultivate friendships and connect with people and learn... not just about dance, but about lots of different aspects of life.
Lotus is where I feel the support of friends in all my creative jaunts.
Lotus is where I can get my shimmy on!

For my dance sisters and my big sister Nayna that makes me hurt and i still love her 5 minutes later and I keep coming back for more. Love for the dance itself.
Confidence
For being able to look at myself in the mirror and think, I am beautiful and I dont have to weigh 105 lbs and have DD boobs to be a beautiful dancer.

I count Iona and Nayna in my blessings every day for bringing this place of peace,joy and fullfillment in my life.
