-Kunti stuti & Bhishma stuti

-Chatushloki BhagavataM

-Vidura Maitreya samvAdaM

-Kapila Gita

-Daksha YajnaM

-Dhruva Charitram

-Ajamila story

-Prahlada (two parts)

(and the same JaDaBharata story is here too)

http://www.geocities.com/profvk/VK2/Bhagavatam_Introduction.html

From the Daksha Yajna story:

Lord Vishnu announced at the finale of the yajna as follows: “I am known as the supreme cause of the worlds, its soul, its ruler, the witness of everything, the self-effulgent being and attributeless Absolute. But in truth I am both Brahma and Rudra. I assume different names appropriate for the creation, sustenance and dissolution of the universe. He attains eternal peace who does perceive no difference among us three”.

Four articles on Śrimad Bhāgavatam:

-The first one is on Advahut philosophy as expounded by Lord Datatreya to king Yadhu involving the lessons learned from the Lords 24 guru's
http://www.mudgala.com/sri-krishna-mangal/gems_from_bhagavatham_1.html

-Parts two and three deal with the story of King Puranjana
http://www.mudgala.com/sri-krishna-mangal/gems_from_bhagavatham_2.html
http://www.mudgala.com/sri-krishna-mangal/gems_from_bhagavatham_3.html
(Note: This story, like some others in the Bhāgavatam, condemns animal sacrifice.)

-Part four is the story of Jada-Bharata
http://www.mudgala.com/sri-krishna-mangal/gems_from_bhagavatham_4.html
(See also the previous topic on Jada-Bharata http://tribes.tribe.net/srimadbhagavatam1/thread/94005004-688e-4cb8-9cbb-9ad7122aa6fe )

Aum Namo Narayanaaya!

Srimad Bhaagavatam 11.28.35-37 (Also Uddhava Gita 23.35-37)

eṣa svayaṃ-jyotir ajo 'prameyo mahānubhūtiḥ sakalānubhūtiḥ /
eko 'dvitīyo vacasāṃ virāme yeneṣitā vāg-asavaś caranti //35//

etāvān ātma-sammoho yad vikalpas tu kevale /
ātman ṛte svam ātmānam avalambo na yasya hi //36//

yan nāmākṛtibhir grāhyaṃ pañca-varṇam abādhitam /
vyarthenāpy artha-vādo 'yaṃ dvayaṃ paṇḍita-māninām //37//

"The Supreme Lord is self-luminous, unborn and imperishable. He is pure transcendental consciousness (mahA anubhUtiH) and perceives everything. One without a second (advitIyaH), He is realized only after ordinary words cease. By Him the power of speech and life airs are set into motion.

Whatever apparent duality is perceived in the self is simply the confusion of the mind. Indeed, such supposed duality (vikalpaH) has no basis to rest upon apart from the Atman.

The duality (dvayaM) of the five material elements is perceived only in terms of names and forms. Those who say this duality is real are pseudoscholars vainly proposing fanciful theories without basis in fact."

~ BBT translation

"This selfluminous, unborn, immeasurable Greatness of Understanding aware of everything is the One Without a Second where words find closure, and by Whom impelled the speech and life airs move.

Whatever the notion of duality the self might have is but a delusion to the unique soul, as it indeed has no basis outside of that very self

The dualistic imaginative interpretation [in terms of good and bad, by so-called scholars of this in names and forms perceivable duality which unmistakably consists of the five elements, is only vain.

~ ISKCON translation

"The Supreme is never hidden from veiw.
It is self-luminous, unborn and imeasurable.
It is pure trancendent conciousness, fully aware.
It is one without a second.
It is beyond speach-
For it is That which impels speach
And by which the vitalit functions.

Indeed, there is no basis
For a perception of duality
In the Self -
This is simply the product
Of a confused mind.

The world of seeming multipicities
That apears through the five tattvas
As name and form
Has no reality.
Those who argue that it does,
And that Vedic passages referring to them
Should be taken literaly,
Do so because the do not understand."

~Swami Ambikananda Saraswati translation

"The Atman is the self-luminous Consciousness, un-originated and unfathomable. IT is the Self-Consciousness all-pervading, without the polarity of ‘subject and object’. IT is the Absolute One without a second, intuited beyond word and thought.

When the Atman is the sole Existence, it is a delusion of the mind to see anything different from IT. For, apart from IT, the Atman realized as the Self, there is no other support for duality or multiplicity of the world of objects.

It is only the purva-mimamsakas that consider this world of multiplicity, constituted of the five gross elements and distinguished by name and form, as real and hold that the passages in the Vedanta revealing the nature of Reality are only eulogies of the agents, celestials and other factors entering into the sacrificial cult of the Veda. Such a contention is without basis."

~K.R. Paramahamsa translation

Aum! Shanti!
