Well, we finally did it.
Ty and Cory got there theatre.
It's in the fantastic theatre district giving us the ability to
bring real culture to the heart of S.F.'s theatre world.
With an amazing cast of characters all ready to warm our stage,
you can expect to see some outa site gigs.
If you go to our web site, stagewerx.org
(it's in the construction phase at the moment)
you'll be able to get the flavor of whats to come.
We take possession of the theater Jan 1st 2008 and in the mean time
we will be building it out to it's coming glory.
Thanks to everyone who believed in us and kept our spirits up through the search.
and to those who will help make this a place everyone feels at home.
Much love to all you.

stay tuned for our coming events.

Our first production is scheduled for the 2nd weekend in February. It's Called 'Heavy Hand' and is a Sean Kelly Production, or a Knife beats Hand Production. (Sean is gonna pop our Stage Werx cherry. How appropriate is that?!)
But were actually going to be booking gigs prior to that.

The coup though is were having a grand opening night mid January.
We will secure some short 5 minute acts from all our actor friends and then open the stage to whoever wants to perform a short act. It's gonna be really loose, free, and just a kick back, drink a ........, and watch some of the best of the best do their thing. Also as a opportunity for people to see the place and to get the feel for what it's like to do a production there.

Dont know how many of you know this, but after the show lets out, sometimes the actors hang around for an hour or two and get up on stage and do impromptu stuff. For me, It's always the best part of the show. This is what this night is going to be like, Grab a drink, find a chair, chat with some peeps, then watch a performance or two, nothing formal, just on the fly kinda gig. dig?!

oh and were shooting for January 19th 2008 for this grand opening thingy.
            Tentative but it's the goal.
and anyone can come perform if they want. It'll just be a bunch of actor types.
            Not a general public thing.

So our opening night is starting to shape up.
We sent out a call to actors who want to perform and
damn if half of sf didnt respond.
so were rethinking our format and trying to figure out who's in and who
just can fit. It's hard to have to sort through all this amazing talent and
decide who to pick. But we dont want a 4 hour show. In fact, we wanted
it to be half show half hob nob. But going through the list of folks,
were trying to bring it down to 2 hours. Crazy.
Were confirmed for Jan 19th and I've come up with a cool flyer for the show,
but now I'm scared to put it out there cause with all those performing and then those
who are the hob nob extras, were wondering if we might over pack the house.
We have to make it an invite/rsvp only kinda gig.
It's a 55 seat theatre but I'm sure for this night we will go over that.
Were going to feel awful sending out invites and perhaps forgetting someone.
So know if you dont get one and you really want to come, pop a message over to us and
we'll stick some hammocks hanging from the ceiling pipes for ya.
invites havent gone out yet. I'll post when they do.
