CHILDREN OF EDEN

From Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, and Wicked) and John Caird (Les Misrables) comes a joyous and inspirational musical about parents, children and faith... not to mention centuries of unresolved family business.

Freely based on the first nine chapters of the book of Genesis, Children of Eden is a frank, heartfelt, and often humorous examination of the age-old conflict between parents and children. Adam, Eve, Noah and the Father who created them all have to deal with the headstrong-- sometimes cataclysmicactions of their respective children. The show ultimately delivers the inspiring message that "the hardest part of love... is letting go."

Stephen Schwartz's extensive score for Children of Eden encompasses a wide variety of musical styles from gospel to reggae to pop to rock to Broadway to soaring choruses. It is best described in a single word: "breathtaking". Children of Eden has appeared on Londons West End and is one of the most frequently presented shows in regional theatres, colleges, and schools.

There are several significant roles for adults and teens as well as roles for children.

Auditions will be held in mid-May (exact dates TBD at this point). Rehearsals will start at the beginning of June. Production dates are August 24 to 26 & August 31 to September 1 (8 performances). As always, everyone who auditions will be cast in the show.
