I played hooky from work today. Said I had a migraine. You would think that deter people from bothering me at home. Who wants to hear the phone ring when they are suffering a migraine?
But alas.
At 10 this morning the phone rings. It's my mom. I let her leave a message on the machine, which ends up to be about 5 minutes long. She finally shuts up. I fall back to sleep.
Phone rings. It's about 10 minutes after the first call and guess who it is now? My mom again. So I answered. She says "Why didn't you go to work?" I said "Migraine" She says "Oh you have a migraine? Did you take anything? I just called Angels For Animals and found out everything...." and she proceeds to go on this big ramble about getting the kittens fixed.
So I get up. Think I'm gonna have a nice peaceful day, maybe sit on the porch and read a book.
My next door neighbor has people siding her house today.
The next door neighbor on the other side has a construction crew there to rebuild part of his house today. (This is all damage from the tornado)
So they are pounding away, yelling at one another. One crew has music playing. I hear power tools. It's loud.
Cell phone rings.
It's a girl from work. I don't answer. She leaves a voice mail.
"Can you call me at the office before 5? You know the number"
While I am retrieving my voice mail, I get a text message. From her. With the same message.
It's a good thing I really DIDN'T have a migraine today.
