i just found out (was out of the loop for awhile) that the city of houston has put its own 5$ cover on every strip club door. a legal business, allowed to operate and under no penalty or broken laws, earns a 'sin'-tax making itself complicit in its own perceived immorality. the hypocrisy and violation-by-judgement/fining of my choice is nothing less than a violation of my civil rights. has this been defeated in other cities? if so (or not) how can we unite to repeal this?

Wed, December 3, 2008 - 5:39 AMI'd support it if they'd use the sin tax to support more sin, but alas
I think they spend it on junk. It is so totally and obviously sex-negative
prejudice that it should be soundly trampled upon.
