I am a Cancer Sun on the cusp of Leo with a Leo Moon and a Cancer Rising. I love to be cozy with Cancers, and I love to party with Leos. However, I am "too selfish" for the Cancers, and "too sensitive" for the Leos. I have been on both sides of the Leo-Cancer equation.
I had a relationship with a man whose birthday was a day after mine, Cancer on the day before Leo, but he was very Leo overall in his chart. I gave what I am best at - emotional nurturing - he just didn't want that. He wanted physical nurturing (overly passionate wild sex) - what I gave was apples, he wanted oranges. I tried to give oranges, but he was basically too overwhelming to be around. The Leo side of me did not like being overshadowed by his prowess. Women loved him everywhere he went. He like me, wanted that Cancer security, he just wanted it in a very Leo manner (intense!)
The Cancer whose birthday was two days before mine - he found my wild Leo side to be way too threatening for him. He didn't understand that I was not out f***ing the men I flirted with. I am very monogamous - but he didn't like that I wasn't more like him - a homebody who liked to keep house and make dinner. He did get my emotional nurturing side - but he was a little too homebody for me. He was a lot of fun when I did get him out - funny I just ran into him at a local strip club the other night! He was out nurturing his coworkers with the sights of the pretty ladies! I miss him though - one of the most nurturing lovers ever.
Knowing that your guy is a Leo sun and an Aquarius moon - I would say run for the hills! That combo is polarized and someone with that placement, unless they consciously work on overcoming it, is going to have a tough time balancing within their wanting everyone to care about them and caring about no one in particular.
Leo is sun Cancer is moon - traditionally is supposed to be a good Father Mother combo. Being a Cancer though - though I love the Leo pride, I don't like being in relationship with Leo men - they are too self-centered for me. I was sitting at dinner with a great looking Leo man once - we were having nice dinner conversation when out of the blue he looks at me and says, "Why don't you make me feel important?" Being a caring Cancer, I said (without batting an eye), "Well, what do you need to feel important?" He said, "Telling you would take all the fun out of it." That was when I knew it wasn't meant to be.
Anyway - I don't know how it is going for you - please write and update... Remember that astrology only points toward tendencies. Anyone can choose their destiny and how they are going to behave. We are only at the mercy of our charts when we are unconscious!
xoxo
