I have looked online and it is VERY expensive. Does anybody know if it can be purchased for a reasonable price? I am looking for approximately 10 feet and 4 endcaps.

Re: Where can I buy 6 or 8-inch PVC pipe and endcaps for making cache tubes?
Mon, June 16, 2008 - 4:41 PMI would go to a plumbing supply house. It is not going to be cheap. If you know a plumber talk to them and maybe they can get you a good price. -

Mon, June 16, 2008 - 8:34 PMThanks guys. Actually I found a section of 6" PVC pipe at a salvage yard and ordered end caps at www.usplastic.com/. Saved about $60 going this route. -

Re: Where can I buy 6 or 8-inch PVC pipe and endcaps for making cache tubes?
Sat, July 19, 2008 - 2:17 PMMy guess is that it's either to bury a tube, and it has more integrity than a cube.
Tube vs. Cube man.

Re: Where can I buy 6 or 8-inch PVC pipe and endcaps for making cache tubes?
Tue, August 5, 2008 - 11:37 PMI had no idea 6 inch PVC was expensive. Seems I can always find a few feet of it scrap around construction sites. My dad has extra lengths of it sittin in the garage rafters from when we finished the basement.
Make sure you get a dome cap for the bottom end, and a threaded 'screw-on' setup for the top. Usually, the threads are one piece, it fits over the end and extends past the end with threads on the inside... then , a plug with a square block on top (for turning with a wrench) that threads into the end.
And if you're not well experienced with joining and sealing PVC joints, ask someone at Home Depot. Use the purple stuff to treat the plastic before the glue. Glop the glue on both surfaces, mate, and twist. a hole buried vertically will stay cool all year-round, all times of the day, and will DEFINITELY attract moisture if there is any gap in the seal.
