Re: Howdy folks...
Fri, March 9, 2007 - 7:19 AMMany folks, including me, have a tendency to lurk until getting a feel for a place.
Sorry 'bout that. -

Fri, March 9, 2007 - 7:22 AMUpon reflection, 15 members and 8 topics, some with multiple replies, in 3 entire days is pretty darn good, I'd say. -

Fri, March 9, 2007 - 8:39 AMTrue true...but usually theres something to lurk about! We have very little! If more people post ads, we can all lurk! ;)p
I wanna lurk!
You're right though, I'm so happy we have as much activity as we do! -

Wed, March 14, 2007 - 6:24 AMIn a way it is in a survivalist nature to lurk. I haven't seen any with their own talk show yet. Although that would be pretty awesome. -

Wed, April 4, 2007 - 6:17 PMI would do my own talk show if someone could set me up with one. I can cover any topic with little notice and can always talk to "experts" and understand what they are talking about.
So if you want a talk show I am offering to be the host.

Re: Howdy folks...
Wed, April 4, 2007 - 10:41 PMWell, I'm just poor country herbalist, out in the hinterlands of the San Francisco bay area. I've been married longer than some of you have been alive. While I'm no longer a drinking man due to diabetes, if I had my druthers I would sip fine tequila in the evening or a good 12 year blended malt. Since I don't imbibe I tend to like tea and good coffees. While some folks eat to live, I live to eat. I don't think my body is a temple...I think it's an amusement, especially the roller coaster ride.
I love gardens...especially if I can eat what grows in them. I tend to treat my roses better than some of my friends and colleagues.
I've seen much bad in the world, I have a grudge against the almighty, and I tend to believe in people more than I do deities who sacrifice their only sons. My wife is a dear woman and how the hell she ended up with me is still a mystery. She should be the wife of a school official, an attorney, or a research chemist. I have two loving daughters who treat me better than I deserve.
My latent skills are probably small area farming, primitive fish poisons, and coaxing plants to grow in soil they don't like.
As I grow older I like folk and Celtic tunes more and more...not to mention Cole Porter. It's a far cry from my days singing in a folk-rock-blues band in the 70's.
I'm a survivalist...not a game show contestant.
I'm a gun owner. Not a gun nut.
I play lousy dulcimer...but at least it's not an accordion.
I'm a mama's boy and miss my mother terribly these last six years come May 5th.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd sleep with less women, drink more hot coco, drive cross country two more times, learn to Tango, marry the same woman, have another baby, build a tree house, and fly more kites.
I guess that sums it up.
