Everything is nearly completed here.
All the foods, water supplies, and such, solar and wind generators, and vehicles.
So far, it appears thet there will be some 12+ people migrating to a northern Arizona "retreat" very soon.
Right now, just awaiting additional purchases to "arrive" in the mail/ups delivery.
You can never have too much!
I'm referrring to radios, and related accessories.
"WE" have been spending at a rate of $2,000 per month now, for well over several years.
It takes a good deal of equipment and gardening suppies, seeds, etc, not to mention we had to have a waste containment and control system.
Now, all preps are ready, and the move will begin in less than one week.
Our communications are not limited to one type of radio or frequency.
We have at least 6 different radio types, and some, we have 4-6 of each as back-ups.
The "tower", has been pre-assembled into a modular form, and will be set-up on site in less than 1 hour after arrival.
The solar and wind generators will be all set-up and connected, in less than 2 hours.
We have already had numerous large water tanks delivered to the area, and dirt and rock has been delivered for raised be gardening.
The gardens will be the hardest and take the most time to set-up.
In all, it has been estimated that We will be totally self sufficient from day 1.
Chickens and rabbits are already ordered, and the modular buildings to "house" them are assembled and ready to set-up on site.
1 person will be in charge of the wildlife and others the gardening, and others for security and some for cooking, washing, and electronics/communications etc.
This is a small site and a small group, but well equipped for at least up to 50 people.
Trailers for housing as well as cargo containers, the conex types, are being delivered for the past week. They provide shelter and secured storage.
The entire area will be fenced, with electric hot wires, to deter local wildlife from entering to eat the trees and gardens. (Deer, Antelope, Elk and Javelina).
The entire area is under 24 hour electronic video camera surveillance.
(Weve had some vandalism and theft before from the site)
We have people that are craftsmen, and do construction professionally, automotive mechanics, electrical engineers, and machinists/welders.
Only a few things/people, we do NOT have:
A Doctor, or an RN/LPN, a Dentist or an EMT.

Re: Time to "go", approaching quickly.....
Mon, October 6, 2008 - 9:46 AMArizona huh? sounds about right... I'm in CO now and I'm thinking about this winter. They say it's gonna be harsh. If that is the case I may want to re-evaluate my bug out plans. Currently I'm set to disappear into snow country...depending on the scenario...but I'm second guessing it lately... how'd you go about organizing your survivalist group? Was it through tribe or some other social networking site?
Good luck Billy... I hope you find that lady you're looking for...let me know if she has a daughter, lol -

Re: Time to "go", approaching quickly.....
Fri, October 17, 2008 - 6:18 AMI started my own web site and it grew fairly quick, but then as time wore on, members seemed to fein interest or none at all. Participation was only with 6 members. 1 day I got an email from a memeber froma meetup.com group, and i was invivted to meet and have a cup of coffee. We met and 2 weeks later I was bringing my small active group to meet another 6 person group. We had dinner and a long discussion of what we wanted and planned on. I guess it worked out so far, as I am now on the emergency call list with others, and I have been offered a piece of acreage to go and set-up things in advance of the rest of the group. It's not too close to any towm for sure, completely off the grid. and any real roads to speak of!
The change in weather the past few days between where I am in Phoenix, and the site, is well over 50 degrees!
I bought a cast iron wood stove! There's more wood there than I could use in 4 years, IF I burned wood 24 hours a day!
