I just saved the space today for 2 fun events this fall! Both will be at the Normal Activity Center (old soldiers and sailors).
September 13, Blue Lotus Tribe Workshops and Show. The premier tribal troupe in the midwest comes to Blormal for 4 hours of workshops and an evening show!
October 4, Synergy RaD Showcase. Our semiannual showcase finds a new (larger!) home.

How about a "potluck hafla" at the end of April (the 26th)? If people are interested, I'll call Underwood Park (corner of Linden and Jersey in Normal) to nab a picnic shelter with tables; bring a dish to pass, a drum if you've got it, and something noisy for your hips. I'll see about having a boombox or something battery-powered if people want to bring CDs.
If you're interested, either send me a message or post here (sorry to hijack your thread, Sahira...) and pass the word along! If anyone wants to do something special at some point, we can work that in too--otherwise, plan on an afternoon of music, food, hanging out and dancing.

We start around 2-ish, party till whenever. Underwood is a dry park, so if you need something stronger than soda, make sure it's in a container that doesn't look like it holds anything stronger than soda. I, personally, am cool with small groups of friends and family tagging along, but if someone else is uncomfortable with it, please speak up.
Bring...salads, fruity stuff, desserts, chip-and-dip things, little barbecue sausages (omg I love those...), hummus and chips, veggies, whatever. We'll call it a BYOB to save table space.

Sat, April 26, 2008 - 12:08 PMok there is shelter at the park and we are going to still be out there, rain or shine, the first shelter you will see at the part wont be us, I just got a call from katie saying it was taken already, there is a farther back shelter that we will be at
