It is a fairly universal name. I have come across people who were Arabic, Indian and Jewish and it means something different in each language. -

Mon, July 16, 2007 - 5:21 PMI am Persian, and in Iran it means, The moment just before dawn. An Egyptian man told me that in Arabic it meant, To stay up all night long. In India it meant, Mesmerizing. In Jewish I have been given a couple of different meanings and one that I remember was something like, The new moon.
