Benefits for Johanna
As many of you may know by now, our dear dance sister Johanna was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Our community is coming together to raise money for her medical expenses. Please come out and join us in raising some good vibes and cash to support her during this very trying time!

Middle Eastern Dance and Drum Circle
Every First Friday night beginning on August 3, 2007 at the Hip Expressions Belly Dance Studio @Yoga Moves. 1045 9th Ave. N., St. Petersburg. This event is geared for the dancers that bring our music to life. Dancers - come free dance, solo or Tribal-style! Drummers and Musicians - come learn some Middle Eastern Rhythms (all types of drums welcome, including doumbek, frame, trambourine, etc.; all types of melodic insturments welcome, flutes, strings, etc.) and learn to watch the dancer for cues and rhythmic changes.
7pm - 8pm: Free Lessons for musicians and dancers
8pm - till we drop: Jam Time!
Refreshments available. Donations Appreciated.

...to the Hip Expressions team. Along with Karen, she will be teaching the Saturday morning classes (11-12pm). She will also be our next instructor for the Choreography and Performance Prep course beginning Tuesday, September 18. She will be teaching a Tribal Fusion choreography. Workshops with Arwyn of Tribalations
Long time friend of Johanna, Arwyn will be in town to teach us some great new Tribal moves. Starting with "Gooey-licious Medium-Tempo Tribalation! combos" and ending with "Introduction to Improvisational Troupe Sword Dancing" she's going to bring some fresh moves to Tampa Bay! This is also an opportunity to support Johanna; all proceeds from her workshops are going to help with Johanna's medical expenses. Space is limited, so call Karen to reserve your spot! 727.643.5517.

Enjoy an evening filled wtih music and dance by Loud Zoo (our house band), great dance performances by our local professional and student dancers, shopping for your favorite dance accessories, and a fun raffle with proceeds going to Johanna for her medical expenses.
