Good morning./afternoon/evening Tantra! First off, I come to you listening to some Furious George with a large thanks to the inter webs. Usually I enjoy darker psytrance, but this is pretty good too. So how is the scene out there. Around here I have gone to some good psy parties some local, went to Orb a few times in New York, and I have been two a couple parties in Mass. The pine barrens were a freaky place to party, but it was awesome.

I plan on moving out that way to the Bay Area (as soon as I find a job. Anyone able to help a guy out with a new business degree or a couch? lol) I am just trying to get my name out there, say hello to my fellow Psytrancers.

My name is Zii. I like to spin poi and contact staff. I also contact juggle but im by no means a master in any of them. Im a pretty skilled amateur but I still have a lot to learn, but thats half the fun isnt it? Here is to hoping our paths cross.

New Tantric Yoga class

Auspicious greetings, I'm Ösel Dorje, a lay practitioner of the Drikung Kagyu lineage. Myself and Lama Drubpon Rinpoche have opened a Tantric Yoga class to everyone. There are no empowerments or refuge required. This is a very profound level of Tantra. It is advanced. We currently have a beginner group that is moving a relatively slow pace.

I would like to put together a small advanced group or group of brave students who are willing and able to proceed at a more rapid pace. The space is small at the Vajra Yoga Meditation Center, which is a Monastery as well so if I could put together about 15-20 people we could begin a Sadhana schedule which will serve as a foundation for Highest Yoga Tantra and Mahamudra in the Tibetan Tantra system.

I have 30 years of experience in Indian Kundalini Yoga. My grandfather is a 102 year old Yogi from Varanasi. I began learning from Lama Drubpon Rinpoche a few months back. He felt my experience was high level and asked me to teach. I've put together a fast-paced Sadhana, and some people might find it a little intimidating. I've had to pace it way down for my current group, which is fine.

However, if there are seekers who have some experience with Kundalini Yoga and Tantra, want to progress to enlightenment in this life, and are eager to practice at a high level, then please email me at osel@yogatantra.org. Tell me about yourself and when I receive enough responses, I'll see about scheduling a time to meet.

Ephemeral Mists is the newest side project by composer Brett Branning (The synthetic dream foundation & Abandoned Toys). The debut album, "Moon Ritual" is out now on Mythical records.

The sound of the project is best described as downtempo ambient electronics mixed with ethnic world musics in the vein of "Karma" era Delerium, Amethystium, and Dead Can Dance. Its really a very intoxicatingly beautiful creation and I highly recommend it to anyone into ambient music styles.

new healing space in SOMA

Im a chiropractor planning to open a new healing space in SOMA in Jan 2009... I have been offered a fantastic space with tall ceilings, kitchen, bathroom, extra rooms. and a room with a washer and dryer in it for a great price...its actually too large for myself and my practice. Some offers have been made to share it with other people and other business ideas but it seems that a new healing space would be perfect.
I love the trance community and it would be great to find other healers who would be able to commit to creating such a space in a truly up and coming neighborhood. Im open to many options including rental by the hour or sharing the space. cheers ~~Dr.jon

Looking for place to stay in berkeley

So I've realized that this town in the san joaquin valley I live in has been
the cause for some of the negative energy I have been
dealing with as of lately.
I have been feeling the urge to just pack my bags and go for
a long time now, but the urge has now turned into a gut response.
Does anyone know of any open houses or squatter pads or just friendly
people willing to open their home to a central-valley refugee around berkeley?
I am a very down-to-earth, friendly, laughing, hard-working person, and I will
work and help out any way I possibly can.
I am a certified massage therapist and apprentice body piercer (Still need to learn a few things)
so I imagine finding work would not be that hard.........

I need company for the Gemini Festival

I just got turned into psytrance recently... Well actually I have been listening to it on and off since '99, but the first event I ever attended was the Howweird street faire last month, and the energy of it just blew me away... Now I want to be a part of it!

I was gonna drive up to Belden with a friend. Except he's not really familiar with psy yet... And there's a chance that he will decide not to go at the last minute. I don't really wanna go alone...So...If anyone wants to adopt me into their group that would be great !

Like I said, I can drive up there (in my 4 door sedan), or I can ride with you guys/gals... OR we can just meet up there. I am coming from San Bruno/Daly City.

Unprecedented Tibetan Protests Worldwide

Pro-Tibetan protests have occurred in record numbers across the world showing the Chinese Authority that they may be able to kill and suppress inside Tibet, but the people of the world are speaking ... Protesters in Boston, Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa, Germany, Italy, Mysore, New Delhi, Chennai, Buffalo, Chile, Vienna, Israel, Denmark, Lithuania, Norway, Chicago, Bangkok, Seoul, New York, Sydney, London, San Francisco, Minnesota, Barcelona, Munich, Belgium, Taiwan, Paris, and even a vigil was held in Beijing. Unprecedented numbers of peace marchers, hunger strikes, vigils and protests in front of Chinese Embassies worldwide is surely not what the Communist Chinese Government had intended when they made the decision to 'crackdown' on Tibetans. One report even states that Tibetan protesters were gunned down in broad daylight in the streets of Lhasa. The Israeli parliament held a discussion about "the Genocide in Tibet".

Maybe the world is asking China to have compassion if they want to have their 'precious' Olympic Games if you read in between the lines. Several top athletes have already threatened to boycott the games and Beijing can't even promise clean air for them! I hope for a quick end to the utter stupidity and arrogance of the Chinese Authority in regards to the complete brutalization of any sense of the term 'human rights' amidst this 'crackdown' on autonomy ...

The second time I imbibed the mushroom sacrament was just after I graduated highschool, a friend and I were sitting in the park, blissfully enjoying each others conscious company, letting the mushrooms kick in as we basked in the amazement of each others awareness and playfully trying to cross our eyes in a manner that lets us visualize each others third eye. Our conversation became more of a completion of each others thoughts, that click and understanding, until there came a moment where we both felt the same thing, we were conscious of the Us consciousness, I and You melted away. The first click was a brief with a moment of confusion, sort of like 'What was that?' 'There is no 'Was', and We became I again. To keep up our connection it felt as if I would push us further along the spiral and he would pull with the energy of what hed learned, teaching my consciousness something to digest so i could in turn power level us deeper. The whole night our internal and external enviroment was a conscious syncronicity, we felt this is exactly what we should be doing, this is what we pine for, this satisfies every metaneed. The clearest thing that was communicated was him telling me that hed never truly experienced love and was abused as a child, and I could feel exactly how bad it was and cried with direct empathy. The timeless hours had worn out our energy by sunlight, throughout the night to continue stimulating the connection it had degraded a bit because we needed physical manipulation of each other for serotonin drive, still clothed, a pure form of bodywork, pure tantra, occasionally needing an affectionate touch on bare skin.

Marin Tidal Hot Springs: Happening, but Going Fast!

For those who have heard of the Marine County Tidal Hot Springs, but have never been: Yes they are real. I just went this morning and they're in fantastic shape! Unfortunately they will become rarer soon, so if you may want to visit them soon (like the next few days).

The springs are most easily reached by 'goat' trail near Steep Ravine Environmental Campground, located about 1/4 mi. south of Red Rock Beach, which is about 2.5 mi. south of Stinson Beach. Most of the time (i.e. >99%) the springs are covered by the Pacific Ocean, and they only happen during extreme low tides (i.e. when the tides are less than '0' foot mean-tide). These extreme low tides occur only during certain days (normally around New Moon and Full Moon). Summer and Winter have more extreme tides than Fall and Spring, and the Winter Storms often swamp the springs with high waves, no matter how low the tides get. Therefore Summer is the best Soaking Season.

Sadly, the 2007 Summer Soaking Season is almost over, and opportunities are getting rarer.

The good news is that we're in the middle of one of the last extreme-tide 'cycles' of the season. So the next Hot Springs will occur very early tomorrow (Sunday) morning, starting at ~4:15 AM (when the tide falls to '0' feet). The tide will then continue to fall to 0.9 ft. at 5:56 AM, and the springs will keep getting hotter. It will remain hot until the rising tide brings the waves, which will probably occur shortly before 9:00 AM (when the tide rises to almost 1 ft. above '0' mean tide).

The next day (Monday) everything will occur about 50 minutes later. The next day the it wil happen again, but not as much. By the end of the week the 'cycle' will be over. There are a few low tides in August, though they won't be as deep as tomorrow or Monday.

If this interests you feel free t reply and I'll send directions. Realistically, it's probably not a good idea for you to try to hike down the (very steep) trail to the springs in the pre-dawn dark unless you're hiking with someone experienced. Once you've been shown the way, there's no problem. Nevertheless, it's best to follow someone else the first time. Also: Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and/or socks (there's poison oak on the path -- no need to spoil you experience by getting stung :-)

Using Dance Music to Prevent Youth Suicide -- Calling Indie dance music artists, dj's and producers

San Francisco: a dance music project [SF:admp] is a trance centered music fundraising project for the prevention of child and youth suicide in the City and the Bay Area. "www.darkmother.com/themerep...sco"
It is being produced by the MERE Project Charitable Trust; "www.themereproject.org"

San Francisco: One is designed to be a compilation of finished dance tracks from indie dance music producers and artists in the City and County of San Francisco [only]. The Trust is seeking non-exclusive royalty free contributions of such and is accepting online submissions of demos for the project. Please send us a demo; we'll review it and, if it makes the final edition, we'll submit a request for a nonexclusive, royalty free master use license from you.

Submission criteria: All songs must be/have

1) Copyrighted by the submitter.
2) No more than 7 minutes in length.
3) Tempo set between 120bps and 136bps.
4) Positive; songs with vocals must have positive lyrics. No sad songs.
5) Infectious grooves -- when the groove is in full swing, it has to really get people moving and keep them moving.

Trance, psytrance, vocal trance, downtempo, house, world, any language, dance, pop/dance, sacred...; doesn't matter, as long as it fits the criteria.

The final product will be released internationally via most popular music services. While this project doesn't offer royalites, it offers those who make the final cut a lot of exposure. [Feel free to do a SF:admp mix.] Submissions for SF: One will not be accepted after August 27th, 2007.

Please help us spread the word; as a dance music community, let's represent! Send submissions to [our huge, free mailbox @ Yahoo], address above. Let's take action to help curb youth suicide in San Francisco, the Bay Area and beyond.

The party these three guys recently played at in Sacramento was a huge success.

Triton and Sparkle are residents of Alchemy and will get the antigravity generator started. From the playa to various clubs and parties, these two have kept floors grooving for a while.

I'm bicycling from Northern California, to Mexico City (hopefully further) with three kind friends. We are stopping in at a few "ecovillages / intentional communities" for work trade. It goes like this: We bring good energy and helping hands (we get down and dirty), you feed us once a day (we eat vegan and vegetarian) and let us sleep somewhere out of the rain. We prefer to learn something new and apply our creativity, but find mundane and repetetive tasks meditative as well. We are currently in the East Bay area, but willing to travel.

Sumerians, Tibetans, Egyptians, Cherokees, Hopi, and Mayans refer to this same 26,000 year cycle in their mystical belief systems and each have developed calendars based on this great cycle.

The Maya messengers, reknowned for their architectural, artistic, mathematical and scientific achievements, left a calling card as a series of super-human sized stone monuments and pyramids with precise calendrical computations. Planted with great intention, these dates were left to ensure that future generations would be alerted to the coming end point of this great 26,000 year cycle. A cycle which corresponds also to a 26,000 year relationship of our Sun orbiting Alcyone, the central star of the 7 Sisters Pleiades constellation. According to the Maya, the "future" which lies beyond this end date is literally "a new world age" - "a new creation."

The 26,000 year cycle of the Homo Sapien's evolution and development is mirrored by the 260-day cycle of human gestation. Collective humanity is right now maturing into the being we have long been encoded to be. As with any labor, it is not the mother, or the baby, who is in charge - it is the primal process of Birth itself unfolding its own destiny.

Thus the December 21, 2012 AD is not the day where all of the sudden a light switch will flip on and everything will change, rather, we are NOW in the process of this transition from one World Age to the next. The changes are underway and will continue steadily accelerating as we head towards the culminating date!

The ancient Maya understood this 26,000 year cycle to be specifically composed of 5 lesser cycles, each 5,125 years each. Each of these 5 cycles was considered its own World Age or Creation Cycle. As depicted on the familiar, circular MesoAmerican Sun Stone, (often called the Aztec Calendar) each Creation Cycle is said to have been ruled and destroyed by one of 5 elements. Specifically, 4 Jaguar, 4 Wind, 4 Rain, 4 Water.

Our present great cycle (3113 B.C. - 2012 A.D.) is called the Age of the Fifth Sun. This time period is ruled by 4 Earth. This fifth age is the synthesis of the previous four. 4 Earth (called Caban in the Maya language and Ollin in Aztec) has several meanings, including: movement, shift, evolution, earthquake, navigation, synchronicity, clue tracking, turtle. In the Maya language, the word "ol" of ollin means consciousness.

In Mayan calendrics, the initial date that Earth entered the Fifth World was August 13, 3113 BC, written in Mayan long count notation as 13.0.0.0.0. Every day from that point was reckoned by the number of days passed since the event of this cosmic beginning point.

As Dr. Jose Arguelles writes in "Time and The Technosphere" -
"August 13, 3113 BC is as precise and accurate as one can get for a beginning of history: the first Egyptian dynasty is dated to ca 3100 BC; the first 'city,' Uruk, in Mesopotamia, also ca 3100 BC; the Hindu Kali Yuga, 3102 BC; and most interestingly, the division of time into 24 hours of 60 minutes each and each minute into 60 seconds [and the division of the circle into 360 degrees], also around 3100 BC, in Sumeria. If the beginning of history was so accurately placed, then must not the end of history, December 21, 2012 also be as accurate?"

(Sidenote: Regarding the World Age cycle we are closing in 2012 and the new World Age cycle to dawn, there are varying cosmologies as to whether we are closing the Fifth World and entering the Sixth, or closing the Fourth World and entering the Fifth. For example, In the perspective of the living Maya Timekeepers of Guatemala, calendrically speaking, each element has a 5,125 year cycle. They teach that we have been through fire, earth, air and water already. The next cycle (beginning Dec 21, 2012) will be ether - the Fifth Age - the Age of Center. Likewise, the Hopi teach we are closing the Fourth World of Destruction, and preparing to begin the Fifth World of Peace. Regardless of the title given, what is clear is that we are on poised on the brink of a World Age Rebirth!)

Within the 5,125 year cycle lies 13 smaller cycles, known as the "13 Baktun Count," or the "long count." Each baktun cycle is 394 years long, or 144,000 days. Each baktun was its own historical epoch or Age within the Great Creation Cycle, carrying a specific destiny for the evolution of those who incarnated in each baktun. For example, almost all of the Mayan inscriptions were seeded precisely during Baktun 9 (435-830 AD). This era is known as the time of the Classic Maya. After this point, around 830 A.D., the great Mayan centers were abandoned and their thriving culture mysteriously disappeared. To this day, no one can verify or prove why they left or where they went.

The Classic Maya of Baktun 9 were of a specific destiny, distinct from Maya of other times. As Dr. Jose Arguelles writes, "In 830 A.D. the engineering team departed back to space, back to the other dimensions from which the Maya keep their watch on things. Slowly the terrestrial Maya melted back into the jungles. The time of darkness was setting in. Sure enough the conquerors came. By 830 A.D. Warrior tribes who took the ancient name of Toltec, which means Master Builder, entered the Yucatan. War and human sacrifice were introduced."

Earth and her inhabitants are currently travelling through the 13th baktun cycle - the final period of 1618-2012 AD. This cycle is known both as "the triumph of materialism" and "the transformation of matter." The Maya predicted this final baktun would be a time of great forgetting in which we drift very far from our sense of Oneness with Nature and experience a kind of collective amnesia. Like a memory virus in which we begin to believe the limited reality of appearances and grow dense to the spiritual essence which fuels this world, so humanity's sense of ego and domination has grown.

We entered this baktun cycle right after establishing the world wide coordination of Pope Gregory XIII's 12 month calendar system (1582) as well as the perfection of 12 hour 60-minute mechanical clock (1600), which had been evolving for centuries. These are no small matters. According to Valum Votan, these 2 instruments are what manifested humanity's "error in time" which is the following of artificial instruments of time that served to separate man apart from the rest of nature, operating by our own false timing frequency, to the detriment of the natural world.

The Gregorian calendar is not based on logic, science, or nature. It denies and covers up the true annual human biological cycle conserved in the body of woman. It is the current world standard because of the forceful issuance of this system upon conquered (indigenous) peoples who lost their land as well as their religious freedoms. The Gregorian calendar is a product of its predecessors - Julius Caesar's calendar and the earlier Roman Empire calendar.

The clock was the first existing machine - going on to become the heart of all machine technology to come.

The presence of the clock gave birth to the notion that time lies outside our bodies - that it can be tracked by a machine, and that we can sit and watch it "fly" by tick-tock as though it is something linear, containable, and separate from the organic, flowing process of life. The adherence to the clock for our sense of time and timing is noted as the greatest obstacle to allowing the full telepathic abilities of the human to flower.

Next came the Cartesian Coordinate Rectilinear Grid System (1637) which went on to establish the foundational platform of all modern math and science. Thanks to Rene Descartes (the man infamous for his quote "I think therefore I am,") the ceiling of perception validated only the reality of the 3 dimensions of physical space. The coordinates of X,Y, and Z rendered the fourth dimension obsolete from our worldview.

At that moment, time became reduced from its qualitative essence to that of a quantity. The mind who adopted the lens of the linear grid also adopted the limited perception of time as a 3rd dimensional linear progression of pure duration.

Our societal paradigms have continued to operate with these limitations in place. Thus if something can not be seen, touched, or proven with measurements, it does not, in effect, exist.

Through the Cartesian lens, Nature has become reduced to pure quantifiable resources - no longer a living qualitative aspect of ourselves, but now something outside of ourselves which we observe, analyze and ultimately come to replicate, manipulate, dominate, toxify, and even destroy or extinguish. As Rene Descartes stated plainly,"I perceived it to be possible to arrive at knowledge highly useful in life...and thus render ourselves the lords and possessors of nature."

It seems the modern world wants nothing more than to improve upon Nature, or at least extract her wisdoms and magical properties in order to make a buck by fulfilling increasing consumer demand.

And so, here we are - currently living the last 7 years of both a 5,125 year Creation Cycle, and the last 8 years of a 26,000 Grand Cycle, the Precession of the Equinoxes.

The coming end date of December 21, 2012 is also written as 13.0.0.0.0. in Mayan long count notation; just like the beginning date.

Scholar and author John Major Jenkins reports,"On 13.0.0.0.0, the December solstice sun will be found in the band of the Milky Way. We can call this an alignment between the galactic plane and the solstice meridian. This is an event that has slowly converged over a period of thousands of years, and is caused by the precession of the equinoxes. The place where the December solstice sun crosses the Milky Way is precisely the location of the "dark-rift in the Milky Way...'xibalba be' - the road to the underworld."

On the winter solstice of 2012, the noonday Sun exactly conjuncts the crossing point of the sun's ecliptic with the galactic plane, while also closely conjuncting the exact the center of the galaxy.

Jenkins further proposes that this grand cross in time is symbolized by the Mayan Tree of Life, found at the core of Mayan cosmology.

We are being invited to realize that we are Time. We are the Living Prophecy. The Synchronic Order of Natural Time governs the unfolding of our lives. Time's cycles are found within our bodies and within Nature's daily rhythms and cyclic seasons. We have forgotten this, thinking that time is money or that time is the clock, or the relentless progression of work weeks and weekends. Time is the ever-changing, unfolding Now as it synchronistically coordinates the Whole living Universe.

Science reveals that Earth's base resonant frequency is increasing (Earth's heart-beat), and that the magnetic fields of the planet are dropping - reflected in the shifting migration patterns of animals. These shiftings of the Earth's body allow us to release unwanted baggage - mental, physical and emotional patterns, conditioning, beliefs, attitudes, and programming. This gathering is dedicated to unifying our bay area, USA, and international global music family. Take hwy. 80 towards Sacramento. Take the Hwy. 505 off ramp and follow it to I-5. Take the I-5 North to Williams. Once in Williams, take the Hwy.20 East. ( Follow the Hwy.20 signs when you come to the first town ). Once past the first town you will follow Hwy.20 to Yuba City/Marysville. These 2 towns are separated only by a bridge, you can't miss it. Once over the bridge and in Marysville, be in the fast lane and follow the Hwy.70 signs. It's alittle tricky but if you pay attention you will get through it. Follow Hwy.70 about 49 miles past Oroville and turn right into Belden Town. There are signs for the town on the Hwy. "

Once in Yuba City/Marysville you will go over a bridge ( this bridge separates the towns, you can't miss it ) be in the fast lane and follow the Hwy.70 signs. It's a little tricky so pay attention. Follow Hwy.70 about 49 miles past Oroville to Belden Town. There are signs on the Hwy. for this town. Take a right over the bridge and your there.

Take the I-5 North to the Hwy.99 junction and take the Hwy.99 to Yuba City. Take a right onto Hwy.20 towards Marysville. Be in the fast lane and follow the Hwy.70 signs once over the Marysville Bridge. You can't miss it. Follow the Hwy. 70 signs carefully, they're a little tricky. Are there any particular artists/songs/albums where the connection seems particularly strong? We would like to invite you to participate in two fabulous fundraisers for Loveparade San Francisco 2006
(www.loveparadesf.org) and the SomArts Cultural Center (www.somarts.org). Both events willbe held
at SomArts, 934 Brannan Street in San Francisco.

On Friday, January 27th, Skills DJ Workshop has brought together 20
different production companies and 50 DJs for "GIVING BACK THE LOVE". This
should be a rocking party showcasing the exuberance and idealism of the
younger side of the bay area electronic dance scene. The flyer and lineup

The 2005 Loveparade was a great success with well over 50,000 people
spreading the love along Market Street and at Civic Center. The costs of
the city fees and personel required for a downtown parade were huge however,
so many groups are coming together to pay the remaining debts so that
planning for the Loveparade San Francisco 2006 can proceed full steam ahead!
For all those many people who forgot to give the $5 donation at the
Loveparade gates, here is your chance to help make sure that Loveparade
stays a yearly event in San Francisco, a city with an international
reputation for Love in the streets.

The SomArts Cultural Gallery is a non-profit art gallery and event space
that hosted many seminal electronic dance and art parties until those were
prohibited in 1996 because of permitting problems. Because of the
importance of Somarts to the community, the SFLNC pushed the City to allow
entertainment at SomArts and full time late night permits were granted in
2003. Recently, Somarts completed a major building project to allow high
occupancy for events, so the community is now coming together to help pay
off some of SomArts construction loans! After almost ten years, Somarts
will now be fully available to the community for special events!

All equipment, talent and labor for these events is being donated by the
community and all proceeds will be split evenly between Somarts and
Loveparade San Francisco!

While the DJ lineups are pretty much set for these events, we're still
looking for volunteers for security, bartending, and setup and cleanup.
There is also room for some art, visuals and performance.
