Ahhh...Spring...the time when a belly dancer's thoughts turn to...ink.
Suffice it to say, like many of my dance sisters...this year has gotten off to a rocky start...and I am craving some ink...but right now is definately not the time for me to invest money in anything but my bank account...
HOWEVER...my favorite tattoo parlor is doing something fun for Friday the 13th...for $13 and "a lucky $7 tip" you can choose from "Lucky 13" flash and get a small tattoo...this is from artists who've all inked me at one time or another and charge $150+ an hour...
Should I? I love old school flash...but have qualms about adding it to my very girly soft collection of new school ink...I was thinking of putting in a place where it would NEVER be seen by daylight (so visually it wouldn't be seen with my visable ink) and for $20 I can satisfy my craving without feeling guilty about the splurge...
Needless to say I wouldn't get anything if the flash isn't something I like...the stipulation is 'no changes to the flash'...so...it's love it or leave it...what would you do?

Wed, March 11, 2009 - 12:37 PMOh I can't say that I agree...I've seen flash that I would love to have and some day may incorporate into my work...most of my work is custom...but the butterfly over my heart is actually 'tweaked' old school flash...and I love it...

Wed, March 11, 2009 - 1:33 PMIf this is just a "need for ink" fix - don't do it. If it is a genuine interest to have...then go for it. Like the flash butterfly that has been tweaked...made it her own. But if they won't tweak to make the Friday the 13th tattoo yours then don't do it.
I have a regret piece that will turn into a better piece with my own tweaking but don't do it just for the needed ink fix. -

I am SOOOOOOOOooo glad that I did!!!
in a nutshell...I needed, in the worst way, to do something for myself...I didn't realize how much until after my new ink was on my body...I have been having a VERY difficult year...and this has gone a loooonggg way towards putting a missing smile back on my face! The tattoo is fun and 'cheeky' and I LOVE it and am so glad that I did this for myself!!!
