So what's the deal? Can it be done? Wearing ANY earrings for more than fifteen minutes leaves my ears red, hot, throbbing and painful. Is upping the size out of the question?

Re: Gauging sensitive ears...
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 4:56 PMany standard earings? or any body jewelry? I typically cant wear standard earings for more than a few hours but bood quality body jewelry is fine. My daughter is the same. We had her ears pierces and put in tiny tiny skinny captive barbells and they are fine, any other jewelry she cant wear though. -

Re: Gauging sensitive ears...
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 6:47 PMI would think glass, because it isn't as reactive to cleaning products or your skin as metal. Although jewelry metal isn't supposed to be reactive, all metal is on some level. -

Re: Gauging sensitive ears...
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 9:40 PMI haven't started at all, but so far every piercing outside of standard ears have been nightmares. Belly button... rejected Tygon skin pierce... rejected teo upper ear pierces... rejected. Very frustrating.
So I figure since I've got the standard holes healed, then I might as well work with what I've got.
So, okay. Glass. Hubbs owes me a treat cause he ordered powdered vitamin crap online. Glass sounds good.
Is there anything I should be looking for as a heck no you shouldn't do this sign? -

Re: Gauging sensitive ears...
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 10:24 PMDo you have access to a reputable piercer? You might consider talking to someone knowledgeable who can maybe advise you.
Surgical steel is supposed to be okay, but I know some people still have trouble with it. I would think glass would be okay, but you never know.
Good luck!
