Before I get my tattoo after stretching my ears? I just got my 8g in on Saturday. I'm hoping to be in 6g and comfortably with organics by mid July. I've heard that I need to space things out in order to prevent my body from going haywire. I was thinking of late June or early July. Probably early July.
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

Tue, May 6, 2008 - 9:52 AMI don't see why it would make a difference. Why would your body go haywire? -

Re: How long to wait...
Tue, May 6, 2008 - 9:55 AMYour body focuses its energy on healing the new 'injury'. This makes you more succeptible to catching colds and such. When you do a bunch of stuff all at once (piercings, tattoo's, or anything that causes a physical trauma) not only will they typically take longer to heal, your risk of prolems like infections and rejections or just getting a bad cold go way up.

Tue, May 6, 2008 - 9:56 AMI would think that as long as it wasnt a big stretch you should be fine to do it in a couple of days? When they stop feeling sore probably. -

Re: How long to wait...
Tue, May 6, 2008 - 5:25 PMI just got to somewhere between a 10-8g (spirals, so I'm moving up at the rate that the crusties and tenderness stop rather than any concrete schedule) and same as you hope to be somewhere around a 6g by july-ish give or take if something hurts and I have to slow down. I'm a wuss, and I have no desire to go too fast.
Unless you have reason to believe you are immuno compromised, I would say you should be alright. If you're sick, tired or otherwise not mentally in a place where you are feeling good about it, put it off.
I wouldn't push for additional stretching in the week before, and the week after getting your new ink. Mostly because it's mentally tiring to have to go ow, my ears ping if I answer the phone to hard - oh, ow. My shoulder hurts when I put on clothes. One annoyance at a time is enough to deal with. -

The first thing that popped in my head is that scene from and early episode of The Simpsons. Bart had his tattoo lasered off. He is sitting on the couch and Maggie is next to him poking the bandage..."Ow...quit it" (she stops...starts again) "Ow...quit it". hehe...I can picture my cats doing that.
If I get the 6g to mid June, I'm thinking that I should be ok to get the tattoo in early July. I was told to wait a few weeks before using organics after stretching. I don't want to get the organics in for a performance and then be unable to put the little rings back in when I'm done.
Thanks everyone.
