Believe it or not, I actually like Dolphina's The Goddess Workout CD.

The music is steady with a variety of tempos. It is geared towards the Western ear. The drumming is crisp.

I used severals songs off it for technique drilling.

Is this for teaching? If it's for teaching, I'd suggest using music that YOU like. I used to think that Ameribic music was the best because students are more acclimated to the blended sounds of east and west and it tends to be more rhythmically simple, but I have since changed my mind. I think if YOU flow with the music, you will help your students to do the same. The more comfortable you are with it, the more comfortable they will be. So go for what you know.

A CD that I find very useful (even 4/4 rhythms, nicely paced) is "Migration" by Gypsy Caravan and Friends. A few songs have tempo changes towards the end, but that can be useful for building up to shimmies, etc. There are also great slow songs that I enjoy using for warm up & cool down.
