Wonderland Auditions

The Wonderland Project is announcing open auditions for a production of Alice in Wonderland. A single performance of the piece will take place at the Fuego De Los Muertos Arts Festival in October of 2007.

The very adult version of the Lewis Carroll story is that of a girl searching for her identity in a world she does not understand. It calls for character actors: 4 men and 4 women, ages 18 to 40. We are asking for a one minute monologue followed by a cold reading and movement.

Looking for SD jugglers and Circus Folk!

I just moved back to San Diego from San Francisco where i was surrounded by all sorts of fire toys and circus folk, but i cant seem to pinpoint where they are hiding in San Diego, I'm in north county right now looking to make my way south would you know anywhere kids play with fire or where the clowns are hiding?

It's me! Gordo! What's going on?
Congrats on the great write up in san diego magazine. Made me remember...whatever happened to those people who came and were taking photographs around the time of Street Scene? Does anyone have a link to that story or those pictures?

Everything up here is going well, we haven't really kick started our ventures yet but it's on it's way. I live with Jake (you know, jake?) in a magical, entirely blacklight playground known as fancy land. It would make the good Doctor proud.

I think i'm going to be coming down for XARA. How cool would that be?

accident in oregon

for those of you who know kim hagun, i had word last night she was recently in a serious accident. she is in a hospital somewhere in oregon with head injuries. don't know anything about her condition yet. will post more when i know.

SAT's ONCE IN A LIFETIME AMAZING FREAKIN SHOW !!!

In my 10 years / 400 show of circus and performance art, saturday's show was one of the most special. From the flea-off with Willy Bologna to the Fishtank Ensemble to aerials by Xep to Dr Hoonose's 3D blacklight masks to Murrugun's sideshow extreme acts there was something for all.
As me and willy bologna, aka MY CLOWN, aka Glenn Allen, talked about some of our best shows over the years, we discussed our Point Arena show in 2002 and this show comparing the two.

FREAKIN FANTASTIC !
DID YOU SEE ALL THE SMILES ???
Even dare I say, Cheryl Lindley was impressed. WHOA !!
The eyes of the audience were wide open & boisterous, the vibe was undeniable, EVERYBODY WAS ON ON ON !!!
DAMN THAT WAS GOOD !!

BIG THANKS TO ALL THAT HELPED INCLUDING
MY DAD EARL CARTIER - who worked the door all night
MARIE PIERRE - taking photos all night
SWARTIE - took movie of the blacklight show
THE VOLUNTEERS - thanks for helping keep the fuel going

THE MUSICIANS - Fishtank Ensemble; were they the best gypsy band YOU"VE EVER SEEN? of course they were

much less. There is not enough I can say.
XEP -daring aerials, an easy spirit, interpretive dance
MC BRAINS - the techno sound man who kept it going
TAZ - undeniable good spirit, amazing fire and ameeba
RANDOLPH - ameeba who tasted the shoe, but like the bone
BRIDGET - dog puppet, Interpretive Dance
CARNIVAL BARKERS- what a cannonball act !! and the stupendous fun-filled levitation act !!!
PETER THE CLOWN- the most hilarious songs you can imagine
and did a pretty good BOXTROT too
SCAFFOLDING - Dr Hihor's scaffolding stage is our performance backbone, & carpet too
DALE CARTIER - loaned me the big propane heater to keep us all warm
THE AUDIENCE : thank you for keeping it live !!
