please help spread the word from an elder.
forwarded message, written by Thunderbeat: "Aho Everyone! I was contacted by my friend Gilles Novaks who is a Montagnais Indian from Montreal. He is a Medicine Man and a Healer. He asked me to get as many Tribal people to participate in a worldwide ceremony called the "8,000 Drums". "He was contacted by two Huron Clan Grandmothers from up there in Canada and they asked him to help spread the word to all Indians everwhere. It will take place on March 21, 2008 at 12:00 noon MEXICO TIME!! Which is Central time. "All you need to do is play a drum any kind of drum either alone, or with a group or have the whole Tribe participate. The purpose is to fulfill the OTOMI PROPHECY. The Otomi's are Mayan Olmec and Toltec descendants. The drums will be played so that the Creator will hear us and grant our wishes as we pray for help in the Healing Process of our Mother Earth."
that rises so far away from me!
Stay, stay and let me feel you more, for truly its been so long.
Your touch i balm to this weary soul, so far away from home,
For i have fallen into forgetfulness, of how it truly is!
Dont unwrap this shawl of memory, and leave me cold and bare.
Stay awhile, please stay awhile..........

I now know why you are here, Sacred White Smoke Brother.
Your light makes rainbows in the heart, and unity to flow.
Oh dearest Brother, how much can one heart miss you?

You wish that i, walk the smoke with you, never to return!

How Grandmother Spider Brought Fire to the People - Cherokee

How Grandmother Spider Brought Fire to the People - Cherokee

In the beginning there was no fire, and the world was cold, until the
Thunders, who lived up in Galun lati (Gah-lun-lah- tee), sent their
lightening and put fire into the bottom of a hollow sycamore tree which grew
on an island. The animals knew it was there, because they could see the
smoke coming out at the top, but they could not get to it on account of the
water, so they held a council to decide what to do. This was in the long ago
time, when the animals could talk one to the other.

Every animal that could fly or swim was anxious to go after the fire. The
Raven offered, and because he was so large and strong they thought he could
surely do the work, so he was sent first. He flew high and far across the
water and alighted on the sycamore tree, but while he was wondering what to
do next, the heat had scorched all his feathers black, and he was frightened
and came back without the fire. The little Screech Owl (wa'huhu
[wah-hoo-hoo] ) volunteered to go, and reached the place safely, but while he
was looking down into the hollow tree a blast of hot air came up and nearly
burned out his eyes. He managed to fly home as best he could, but it was a
long time before he could see well, and his eyes are red to this day. The
the Hooting Owl (Uguku [OO-goo-koo] ) and the Horned Owl (Tskili [Skee-lee])
went, but by the time they got to the hollow tree, the fire was burning so
fiercely the the smoke nearly blinded them, and the ashes carried up by the
wind made white rings about their eyes. They had come home again without the
fire, but with all the rubbing they were never able to get rid of the white
rings.

Now no more of the birds would venture, and so the little Uksuhi (Ook-
soo-hee)snake, the black racer, said he would go through the water and bring
back some fire. He swam across to the island and crawled through the grass
to the tree, and went in by a small hole at the bottom. The smoke and heat
were too much for him, too, and after dodging about blindly over the hot
ashes until he was almost on fire himself he managed by good luck get out
again at the same hole, but his body had been scorched black, and he has
ever since had the habit of darting and doubling back on his track as if
trying to escape from close quarters. He came back, and the great black
snake, Gule'gi (Goo-lay-kee) , "The Climber," offered to go for fire. He swam
over to the island and climbed up the tree on the outside, as the blacksnake
always does, but when he put his head down into the hole the smoke choked
him so that he fell into the burning stump, and before he could climb out
again he was as black as the Uksu'hi.

Now they held another council, for still there was no fire, and the world
was cold, but birds, snakes, and four footed animals, all had some excuse
for not going, because they were all afraid to venture near the burning
sycamore, until at last Kanane'ski Amai'yehi (Kah-nah-nay Ah-eye-yay-hee
[the Water Spider]) said she would go. This is not the water spider that
looks like a mosquito, but other one, with black downy hair and red stripes
on her body. She can run on top of the water or dive to the bottom, so there
would be no trouble to get over to the island, but the question was, How
could she bring back the fire? "I'll manage that," said the Water Spider; so
she spun a thread from her body and wove it into a tusti (toos-tee) bowl,
which she fastened on her back. Then she crossed over to the island and
through the grass to where the fire was still burning. She put one little
coal of fire into her bowl, and came back with it, and ever since we have
had fire, and the Water Spider still keeps her tusti bowl.

That is how fire came to the People.

Hope you all enjoyed the story.

Aho! We are All Related!

Tomorrow a Lakota warrior will pour cement....

Every spring is special.
But not every spring offers so much hope to Lakota families for a better tomorrow.

My friends and I have a non-profit organization called Trees, Water & People that works on the Pine Ridge and Rosebud reservations in South Dakota. We have installed more than 140 solar heating systems for families there and planted windbreak trees and shade trees for an additional 160+ families.

Tomorrow... a new spring cycle starts for us.

Tomorrow the descendent of Chief Red Cloud - Henry Red Cloud - a lakota elder and 21st century Oglala Sioux warrior will pour concrete - for a wind turbine that he and I and others will install in May. The concrete needs time to cure before it will be ready.

In a few weeks...on April 26 about 15 of us will arrive in Pine Ridge to plant more trees. We will also bring six fire dancers and continue to bring the "Dance of Fire" to our Lakota friends. While the Lakota have been dancing for 10,000 years... we who are not Native Americans have at least a few moves worthy of sharing... :>)

On May 7-8 at Rosebud - we will plant more "energyscape" trees - trees planted in ways aimed to lower outrageously high Lakota utility bills. On May 9 we will participate with Rosebud and national tribal leaders in putting on a 1/2 day renewable energy conference.

On May 10th we will go to the Little Thunder family home and install a demonstration solar electric system and on May 11th we will install a demonstration wind turbine.

Our goal is to develop new ways to work WITH nature... that are culturally appropriate and help real families with real problems.

It is not for me to worry about the past but to rather build a better future.... one family at a time.

I hope you will too.

Check out our work at www.treeswaterpeople.org .... or email me at richard@treeswaterpeople.org

We could use your support and involvement in spreading this approach and technology to other tribes...

O-Si-Yo, I'm looking for a Reservation, particularly in the central U.S., AR. OK. KS. AZ. NM. CO. UT. S.D. N.D. and NE. are my interests.
I'm a Two Spirit. I make Moccasins, Leatherwork, Beadwork, all kinds of Native Handcrafts.
I'm looking to join a new Lodge, my interest is really Cherokee because that's what I can speak. I'm a Fire Keeper and I'm training to bee a Sweat Master, I can already conduct and lead a Sweat Ceremony but I don't have the proper tools yet.
If anyone knows a Lodge (A-Ni-Pi) that needs any of this or some work in trade for just a place to sleep at night, that would bee great...
Bold as Love, David _-=StOmPiNSiLLy=-_

It´s an old peace ritual of Human culture.
In the Time of the dawn,
when daytime work was done,
we sat around the fire
and as more as we become
the bigger is the circle.

There is time to chew dried meet,
and to drink
Sage and Valerian roots
this is the time to
talk in peace,
to tell and to remember

the old wisdom
to enjoy the beauty of life
to honour the light and
to walk with it inside
in to the dark
and lay down our tired buddy

Renewable Energy and the Lakota

My name is Richard Fox and I am a friend of the Lakota. I wanted to take a moment to introduce you to our work on the Pine Ridge and Rosebud reservations in South Dakota.

I work with the non-profit organization, Trees, Water & People. For the last 5 years, we have been working with the Lakota to improve their living conditions and lower their outrageously high utility bills. We have been doing this by introducing renewable energy approaches that counteract the harsher side of nature. Since many Lakota live in substandard homes and suffer greatly from the weather on the Great Plains, we feel it is a good way to be helpful.

Specifically, we install supplementary solar heat systems that produce heat any time the sun is out for just pennies a day. We also plant trees as windbreaks to lessen the impact of the very fierce north winter wind that blows off the Badlands and sometimes creates ice INSIDE family’s homes. Finally, we plant shade trees to give relief from the relentless summer heat.

We have provided solar heat systems for more than 120 Lakota families. We have additionally planted windbreak and shade trees for more than 125 additional families.

It does not solve ALL of the problems there by any means, but it is what WE can do...and we all can do something.

Truth is... we cannot change the PAST where two cultures clashed and much blood was spilled. We CAN though help to build a better FUTURE, where tribal people are respected and we work together to make a stronger and more united nation.

Our projects are successful because we work WITH nature, and by doing so, we blend new renewable energy approaches with traditional Lakota beliefs.

In the spring of 2007, we will be involved in also installing a wind turbine and a solar photovoltaic system as renewable energy demonstrations as part of the “Clean Energy Education Partnership” with the Rosebud tribe. This will take place in May during a two-day workshop. Both installations will produce electricity and will greatly lower the utility costs of the Little Thunder family.

Additionally in the spring of 2007, we will once again take a small group of people to the Pine Ridge reservation to help us plant trees there. It is no doubt very hard work, but QUITE the powerful experience, with most of us camping out for several days in the community of Oglala.
reality

A long time ago i was in front of a seeviewpoint bar , among many people , who were guided by their imaginated ego .
I could see this theater and while I was watching and feeling lonely , suddenly a wrong thought flew from the right side , it came from behind the bar , ten meters away , upwards to the left in half a circle , always in the same distance to me and it said : " I DON´T NEED FOOD ! " and disappeared in the darkness of the night sky as fast as it came . Wow what a quarter of a second.
I was surprised and filled with wonder for a moment , never before i saw a thought flying around in the night sky ten meters away from me and - I slowly started to combine that there must be somebody behind the bar and ,as a minimum result of this thought , getting off the rocks (vomitting) .
An old woman , maybe 80 years old , appeared from behind the bar , fearing and in a hurry , looking around in the crowed , saw me , pointed with the finger and the whole arm on me , and cryed to me : " You can help , you can help ! ".
I was impressed that , once again , an old woman could realy and truly see me , I knew i was the only one who saw the thought , and in this moment I was shure to find her friend , another old woman , behind the bar vomitting .
So i came quick to help and found the other old lady vomitting and sinking slowly down from the chair heading to deth, a short circuit caused by an error , in the brain had turned the write to the wrong and continued like a domino effect , infecting and destroying her whole human systems .
I went in front of her , concentratet to and filling me up with only the truth of live itself and shined it into her brain and body.
Imediately she came up again and her system was reprogrammed , charged with the truth, with reality , of live .
She looked up to me , glasp her hands like to pray and said :" Thank you ! " to me.
She was 5 minutes away from deth and I could help in 5 seconds only by being and projecting into her the true real energie of life.

There is only ONE true real REALITY , and it is so beautiful we can not IMAGINE .This is existence of live itself , outside the darkness of imaginating people in samsara.
I didn´t create the reality , I only cleaned it from false.

Be blessed ....

Crystal canyon

I was going to look this one up and find out how long ago I had this dream. Years. But I still think of it a lot.

The feeling is a high desert river that is clear. Sparse ponderosa pine on the un touched land, sage and tumbleweed, too. There are planted groves of shade trees that are at least a hundred year old and huts that line the edges of the shade, fairly close together, for let, yet empty.

Walk right up to the edge of the river and see quartz crystals that are six to ten inches long growing abundantly, there like knives in the river at the bank. This is not a place to swim. So fly with me upriver. The banks grow to cliffs of stone, and the air is cool, the wind from flying rides along the scalp, hair free, in the shade of the cliffs for a long time then burst into a circular opening. The water fall river source has ledges all around in the bright sun people sunbathing in the buff and smiling as we arrive.
