Mon, August 11, 2008 - 10:27 AMYep, worked out great, little breakage of a few pieces some one foot pieces here an there. No big ones. Over all 99% o.k..
We had just enough to make it a dangerous op, loving a challenge lol. -

Re: Unassembling the Crane Saturday
Mon, August 11, 2008 - 11:40 AMThis occurred to me over the weekend......do you have a box of spare parts and spare supplies for any 'accidents that might occur'? I'm planning on bringing repair supplies and a spare parts box for the Gateway. -

Re: Unassembling the Crane Saturday
Mon, August 11, 2008 - 9:13 PMSo the crane is no longer standing in the meadow. It is now disassembled and the meadow looks weird without it yet it's all in parts...organized and ready for transport.
Mitzo had done some calculations on the truck and it's dimensions...and the end result was that the door dimension was like 7ft and peanuts. SO that meant we had to disassemble the wings and the entire deck...to which by the way, Me and the amazing Ninja Kitty battled on our own, while Pikey and Gothalot got their second wind. They took the rest of the deck frame down with the help of Clarice, the support post came out of the ground and the hole were filled in!
THANK YOU SO FREAKEN MUCH to Mitzo, Ninja Kitty, and Pikey! We did it! We did it in ONE freaken day!!!!!!!! whew! Skirblah we know you were there in spirit!
A couple of Ed's friends came out to the field to help with the head and tail. They were the scariest to do. We had more people to put that head on so it was a bit nerve racking. But we pulled it off and we are so relieved!
Feeling the aches and pains today though. Last night me and Gothalot treated ourselves to a 4 hour soak, in the hotsprings up in Harbin. It was so nice and comforting, I already decided THAT"S what we're going to do when we get back from BM!
Pictures of disassemble are up.

Re: Unassembling the Crane Saturday
Tue, August 12, 2008 - 12:11 AMVery glad that it went well, and that there are no reported injuries. I was worried about ya'll with there being so few. Yeah, was there in spirit, but that really dont do squat for the heavy lifting, tugging, lowering, etc.
I'll treat ya each to a good yummy morning mimosa out on playa!! -
