Overall it was a lovely burn. She took a while and lots of tending by the crew to get her to fall but eventually she did. We built her too well and I think next time we will design some built in weaknesses so she tumbles more impressively.

There were many comments on how lovely she was and the appreciation by others. A testament to the hard work and love that was put in by crew before and after the burn.

Id like to thank everyone for participating. From the person who left origami paper to the people huddled under one of the baby cranes seeking shelter.

Mostly Id like to thank the hard working crew that stayed till the end and never faltered, through storms and heat. I love you. Thank you.

Yes, THANK YOU to everyone involved in this project - the build crew, the sohei, the volunteers that assisted this way and/or that, the people that came and enjoyed the temple, etc.... everyone's involvement means soooo very much to me - thank you, I love you!

It was great that we could bring this vision to fruition, and gift it to the community - I know it was well received - both from comments directed at me/us when we were working on it, and from others that had no idea I was part of the build crew.... just sitting there soheing and observing their interactions

you all ROCK, and i truly appreciate having you in my life - thank you from the bottom of my heart

Thank you both for your words of kindness and love. I return it to you in kind with my thanks for allowing me to be a part of this project, of something I was truly proud of. We were a COMMUNITY on playa, and our work was our temple. I will never ever forget the lot of us crammed into the Cryptabago for a community potluck, passing around the Oreos. It was a moment that shines through in my mind.

Skirblah is right on when he reminds us of the comments we received when working on the crane. I distinctly remember the Japanese burners coming up to the sign, reading the word, "Sembazuru", and it was like a light bulb came on in his head, reminding him of the sacred nature of the place. It reached out to him. I slowly bowed to him, as per Japanese tradition. He bowed back sincerely in the same manner. And then we hugged each other. The reaching out, the understanding in that moment will last the rest of my life in my memory. I told him I was honored to have aided in building the temple. And his soft and sincere "thank you" made it all worthwhile.

But enough of this.....tears in my eyes of gratitude are making it hard for me to respond. I think I'll go research some more about the proper way to tie-dye black on black t-shirts so's I can be a true goth hippy like you two.

I'd be honored to help you again. Just call.
