The Time Has Come to Say Farewell

The lovely, talented and ever so fabulous Ailleagan has decided to step down as moderator of the Temptress's Boobiedom Spankatorium tribe, so I've decided the time has come to close the tribe for good. She was the generous person to surprise me with the tribe in the beginning and it doesn't feel the same having me be moderator ... to be honest it always felt odd/silly having a tribe just for lil ol' me ... so the time has come to say farewell.

Thank you Ailleagan for being so wonderful and surprising me with such a fabulous gift. Thank you everyone who has joined the tribe and made the conversations and banter so much fun to enjoy. I wish you all my very best and please keep in touch.

ok for all of you who have been trying to track me down here's the 411 on my schedule right now ...

Scarily between now and the end of finals I have in BOTH of my classes a research project/paper, oral presentation, exam and then cummulative exam. BOTH CLASSES!!! And don't forget my final in my statistics class. Seriously?!?!?! Oh and not to mention at work corporate is flying out 2 people to do an audit on our offices IT systems and that project is now mine and it's a freaking mess so we'll fail the audit. Can you say fun? Not!

None-the-less, all whinning aside I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who's been thinking of me and sending wonderfully sweet messages. I can't wait to see everyone & catch up after finals when I can finally breathe a little and actually enjoy some down time.

The federal government is sending each and everyone of us a $600 rebate ... some more & some less depending on whether you're married or not, blah blah. However, if we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer it will go to India. If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala. If we purchase a good car it will go to Germany, Italy, or Japan. If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan...and none of it will help the American economy.

The only way to keep that money here at home is to buy prostitutes, weed, beer, and tattoos since these are the only products still produced in the USA.

Nail in the fence

temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails

and told him that every time he lost his

temper, he must hammer a nail into the back

of the fence. The first day the boy had

you ever experience something so baffling you don't know how to even begin the process of where to go next?

a little recap of what has been going on over the past couple months ... I finally said yes to dating a friend of 14 years who has been asking me out for the last 5 of those years only to have him freak out once I said yes to dating and then have him fuck it all up so royally that we no longer are even friends ... all because he wants to just sleep around, do drugs/drink, party, be free right now / no responsibilities. While I respect his need to be free and live his life the way he wants and honestly do appreciate that he told me this very early on into the relationship/dating part, what really tweaks my noodle is why keep asking to date me if you were just going to muck it all up?!?!?!?!? Grrrrr!!! I will never understand men like this. And what hurts the most is that a dear friend of 14 years could be so selfish and cruel. *sigh* As our mutual friends are telling me, he's not himself right now due to all the partying and some day he'll wake up and really regret what he's done and what he's lost but in the meantime this is the sad state of his life.

I know I've been abscent from Tribe alot these days but please know I send you all loving & friendly thoughts daily. hope everyone is well - xoxoxooxo

Flynn staggered home very late after another evening with his drinking buddy, Paddy.. He took off his shoes to avoid waking his wife, Mary.

He tiptoed as quietly as he could toward the stairs leading to their upstairs bedroom, but misjudged the bottom step. As he caught himself by grabbing the banister, his body swung around and he landed heavily on his rump. A whiskey bottle in each back pocket broke and made the landing especially painful.

Managing not to yell, Flynn sprung up, pulled down his pants, and looked in the hall mirror to see that his butt cheeks were cut and bleeding. He managed to quietly find a full box of Band-Aids and began putting a Band-Aid as best he could on each place he saw blood.

He then hid the now almost empty Band-Aid box and shuffled and stumbled his way to bed.

In the morning, Flynn woke up with searing pain in both his head and butt and Mary staring at him from across the room.

She said, 'You were drunk again last night weren't you?'

Flynn said, 'Why you say such a mean thing?'

'Well,' Mary said, 'it could be the open front door, it could be the broken glass at the bottom of the stairs, it could be the drops of blood trailing through the house, it could be your bloodshot eyes, but mostly.....it's all those Band-Aids stuck on the hall mirror.

As many of you know in July 2002, our world changed, as my youngest child Colby at age 9 was diagnosed with AML (high risk Leukemia). Colby spent the better part of the next six months in the hospital undergoing extensive chemotherapy treatment. Something no 9 year old child (or anyone for that matter) should have to endure.

We were blessed, and got to keep Colby and today Colby James Chapman is a wonderful, bright and vibrant 14 year old! Something I am eternally grateful for. Many are not so fortunate, Colby lost his best buddy, Jonnie Lanners in 2003 and recently another friend, Bailey McManus has relapsed and undergone a bone marrow transplant, in which she spent 9 month in the hospital, away from family and friends. My friend Melissa's dad (Jim Hehli) has also been diagnosed with Leukemia. My teammate’s husband Dr. Stroberg is surviving Lymphoma, and there are so many others, I wish I could mention them all.

So today, I'm here to do something about it and to help them WIN this battle - let them know that they are not alone.

I’ve decided to race for a cure, I am training to participate in the San Diego Rock n Roll marathon June 2008 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program.

Please consider opening up your hearts and helping me along this journey. I'm doing it for the Colby's, the Bailey's, the Jonnie's, and the Jim's out there..........their memories - for their families and for mine! The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter: Its practical weight depends on how long you try to hold it." "If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress and its management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on." "As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for awhile and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can." "Relax; pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy it!"

And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.

Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Remind yourself that birthdays are good for you: The more you have, the longer you live.

Nobody cares if you can't dance well: Just get up and dance.

Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.

If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague or silent.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Never buy a car you can't push.

Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, were talking at a reunion and decided to go visit their
old university professor, now retired. During their visit the conversation soon turned into complaints about
stress in their work and lives.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an
assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite,

When all the alumni had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "Notice that all the nice-looking,
expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to

Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and
in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup; but you
consciously went for the best cups.... and then you began eyeing each other's cups.

Now consider this: Life is the coffee; your job, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools
to hold and contain Life. The type of cup one has does not define, nor change the quality of life a person lives.
Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee.

How's everyone doing? I've been a little absent from here recently as life has been painfully busy but I wanted to at least say hello, let all of you lovelies know I'm thinking of you and always sending good wishes your way. Also what's everyone been up to recently?

I survived midterms (and actually think I did well on this round despite them being ridiculously difficult). I survived layoffs at work (ugh that was stressful). My friends baby, Xander, is now a little over 2 months old and I'm as smitten as I can possibly be. TrayC did the Nike Women's walk in SF last weekend and I got to spend some wonderful fun time with her (and also Lisa, Sunshine, Jake, z, Ella and Mina). But most importantly, not new news but certainly something I'm grateful for, I am blessed with the most amazing people in the world being my friends :)

A BRITISH family is suing the Ministry of Defence for half-a-million dollars after a helicopter destroyed a section of their mansion while hovering over their sunbathing nanny.

The Daily Mail newspaper in the UK reported four servicemen were flying a Merlin helicopter within 500 feet so they could ogle the East Sussex family's au pair who was sunbathing within the confines of the sprawling mansion.

It's been alleged the down-draught of the helicopter badly damaged a seven metre glass conservatory - the winner of an architectural prize in 2000 - that needed replacing.

According to the report, the Ministry of Defence is defending the action, claiming the "alleged frolic" could not have caused the damage to the Eastbourne home owned by Barry and Anna George and once valued at more than AUS$4 million.

But barristers for the George family will argue the crew did not have permission to descend below 1000 feet in such a heavily built up area.

The case, set down for eight days, will begin in February.

Cracked pot

A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on each end of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the masters house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water in his masters house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect to the end for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you." "Why?" asked the bearer. "What are you ashamed of?" "I have been able, for these past two years, to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your masters house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts." , the pot said. The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and in his compassion he said, "As we return to the masters house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path." Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path, and this cheered it some. But at the end of the trail, it still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and so again the Pot apologized to the bearer for its failure. The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of your path, but not on the other pots side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back from the stream, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my masters table. Without you being just the way you are, he would not have this beauty to grace his house." Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots. But if we will allow it, the Creator will use our flaws to grace the Universe. In the Creator's great economy, nothing goes to waste. Don't be afraid of your flaws. Acknowledge them, and you too can be the cause of beauty. Know that in our weakness we find our strength.

Old Butch

John the farmer was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called "pullets", and ten roosters, whose job it was to fertilize the eggs (for you city folks). The farmer kept records and any rooster that didn't perform went into the soup pot and was replaced.

That took an awful lot of his time, so he bought a set of tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.

Each bell had a different tone so John could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report simply by listening to the bells. The farmer's favorite rooster was old Butch, and a very fine specimen he was, too.

But on this particular morning John noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! John went to investigate.

The other roosters were chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing. The pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.

But to Farmer John's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He would sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.

John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result...The judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making: Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention?

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year old Irish wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home. As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why." Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.

He said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?" The six-year-old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."

My best friend and sister in life is expecting her first born. His due date has already come and past so it is clear to us that this lil being is going to be very independent and strong ... hence arriving when he is good and ready and not a moment sooner. :) Our close group of friends and family have no started to guess on when he'll arrive and have a little bet going (no $ invovled just a curious competition). After giving it alot of thought I decided that he'll be arriving on 8/8/2007 at 2pm. I came to this date based on what definitions numbers have in our world ... 8/8/07 totaling to the number 7 and the relevance this has (a kene observer, intuitive and high achiever) and 2pm being the relevance for the spiritual qualities that this number embodies.

In thinking about the possible arrival time for this new lil miracle that I can't wait to meet, it got me to thinking about my own number in this world ... 9. Those will a life path of 9 are compassionate, generous, loving and chose paths in life that are rooted in humanitarian endeavors. I had to smile becuase that is pretty much me to a T. :)
