Tide will be out in the casino bar immediately following the JGB show at the Crystal Bay Club Casino Saturday February 7th!
Tide played the same gig after David Grisman a couple years ago, and it was such a rad show! As the crowd exits, Tide is waiting to lure them back to the bar. It works every time. =)
I wonder if me, mags, and Stace could use our charms (and our tutus) to talk Melvin into sitting in on Matt's hammond B3?? That would be rad.
This will be a full blown Tide/Tahoe cabin weekend. Jeff's cabin sleeps 100+ =). I have been waiting to test its capacity for some time. Don't tell his mom and dad.
So, who's in?

Tue, December 2, 2008 - 11:07 PMThe cabin is at the base of Alpine Meadows ski resort near Tahoe City. It's a little bit of a drive back to the cabin, but so worth it for the free afterparty spot that sleeps a lot. Okay, 100 may be pushing it. I think almost 20 people can get a bed/couch though, plus there's plenty more space for air mattresses or sleeping bags.
I wonder if we could hire a party bus to take us to the show and back to the cabin? if we have enough people, it wouldn't cost too much maybe...
I'm making the trek from SD both weekends in a row, so if I can do it everyone else can too!
Tide is talking about playing another show that friday somewhere close by in Nevada or something.
Martina, the stacy/jeff bad girls breakdown is on archives from last march at Winston's. me and mags warn tho, that heartbeat of SF was not a polished performance in its early stages.. skip that track maybe. -

Wed, December 3, 2008 - 8:23 AMOk lets see first of all party bus sounds great, Reid knows how to get one, he used to do it for 2me and it is cheap.
2nd off, I think doing one that Friday s perfect and we should get on it. We can do Tide and Izabella in Chico. I have spoke to Sidd and he thinks the time has come as well, so get Jeff or whoever to call Sidd and get the ball rolling, they need to do it soon though because Lost is getting booked up fast now that they are pretty much the only venue in Chico now. Now that I am thinking about it, I dont know if Chico will book a Friday, but hopefully Sidd can work it, and if not there are places we could do it. Lets see Fridays, they should book both those Friday shows.
Cosmic Cafe in Placerville is a good one
Another Sac Show would be great, they should do Marilyn's instead though, but that is just me, I like it better than Blue Lamp
No sf it is too far

what is this biltmore? is it like down the street from the venue?
chris mentioned fargo's cabin on north shore as a possibility. how far is that from crystal bay?
i don't know if somewhere in nevada would be too opposed if tide is just playing an afterparty in tahoe.. depends on the club i'm sure.
we were thinking about sparks, carson city, or reno possibly.

i'm pretty sure the crystal bay club is not really concerned with tide's touring schedule. they know they are selling their tickets and bringing a huge crowd in for JGB. They are not exactly expecting tide to bring a ton of their own fans to the show, plus it's a free show in the lobby. It is set up so that the JGB crowd sticks around to hear a little more music on the side stage (also coaxing people to stay later, drink more, and gamble - all in the casino's favor.)
i just double checked with jeff, and they're working on a possible show in sparks for the night before. sweet. -

Cabins are cool and I can ony imagine the dynamics of the after party raging in one, but who would be sober to drive? Keep in mind it will most likely be snowing or at least have snow on the ground. Not too safe... -

Tue, December 23, 2008 - 2:49 PMYeah I just went to crystal bay too, and the guys who work there said the 7th in feb is going to be crazy weather, so we should plan on staying there, we could always cancel our reservations as we get closer, but driving might be a bad idea do to weather. We saw this cool suite that was only 120 at the crytal bay. I would be down to get that, the cabin are nice at the biltmore too and they are like 25-50 bucks a night and sleep 5 comfortably -

Tue, December 23, 2008 - 3:08 PMyeah feb is likely going to bee snowy. What I really miss at the crystal bay is the tahoe brewery being next door, they had the best food. Otherwise you are stuck with the casino food. Anyone have any secret food spots in crystal bay?
Also I head on the news that the silver club in sparks is closing its doors soon, but they didn't say when.

Wed, December 24, 2008 - 10:38 AMI was at the Biltmore a few weeks ago when BTS played in the Crystal Bay Red Room. The Biltmore had a great deal on rooms ($50 a night with the second night free). It's a great place to stay, but they seem to be getting a little burnt on the music scene crowd. The manager told me that they had several rooms severely trashed a month or so ago by concert goers and they are watching things a bit closer when a show is going on. That said, I was still able to have a nice little after party in my room with the band and the bees without getting hassled, but we were behaving ourselves. ;-)
Overall though, Tahoe shows (and reno for that matter) are dangerous for me. Alcohol and Blackjack are a bad combination for my wallet! -

2009 will be different, that was so 2008.
chris said it is possible to walk to fargo's, but a little gnarly in the snow. i couldn't even make it across the street to zeke's room at the biltmore without falling on my ass on the icy roads! we can cab it cheap tho. i hope that works out, amber you've been to fargo's, how many of us do you think could sleep there if he lets us? -

Thu, January 8, 2009 - 10:48 AMCheap ass rooms at the TAHOE INN which is right down the street on the Cali side! A breeze to walk to....but no casino action, might bee good for someone like Brian. hahaha
regular slightly meh small rooms, but kinda peaceful, and WAY cheap.
Cal Neva is really good if you want to be on the lake side (neighborhood behind the hotel yhou can walk to the shore) and if you want a more Hotel Casino experience. Drew and mark and I stayed there for Umphreys and it was really nice and cozy. -

I have done the Tahoe Inn and is not a bad option. Literally 500 yards from both CBCC and Bilty, and on the Cali side, which I like.
Sometimes their winter rates are through the roof however, so beware of this spring time gem.
