The Goddess, Mayan Prophecy & A New World

reply to: elainedodson@sacredjourneyretreats.com

Elaine Dodson presents...

The Goddess, Mayan Prophecy & A New World
with Jimmy Langkop and Margaret Christensen

The Divine Feminine is re-emerging everywhere around us and within us after 5000 years of patriarchal domination. She/it brings to us a new vision and a new world of egalitarianism based on cooperation, inclusiveness, compassion, interdependence, balance and individual empowerment.

The Mayans wrote of the end of time coming in 2012. Is that a death or a birth? Is this to be literalized like a religion or to be metaphorized for infinite possibilities and outcomes?

We have spent years in becoming the light to be change agents ushering in this new world. Now it is time for us to be the darkness! We must go into the areas of life that we have judged, avoided, and left underdeveloped. We must bring balance, integration, healing and empowerment into our own life, body and affairs to bring about the change we have been waiting for. That means being the light wherever darkness and ignorance exists in our life and around us.

We must take the “24 inch journey” out of our head into our body grounding ourselves down through our toes. The spiritual path is in the mundane - healing our bodies, finances, home, relationships, occupation all the way into our political world. Being spiritual is simply being fully human - bringing our light into our darkest or ignored areas.

We will explore

What Goddess energy is and how it is manifesting in us and our world,
How the Goddess energy is more healing and empowering for men than women,
When did Friday the 13th change from being the Goddess’ most sacred day to Christianity’s most feared,
Why healing the body is more than just about the body,
How darkness saves and empowers us,
Where the Mayan prophecy and calendar become truly significant for us, and
Who we really are and why are we here now!

Friday, June 13th, 2008
Time: 7:00 – 10:00 PM
Where: Elaine Dodson’s Shakti 200
The Plaza at Walnut Hill
2607 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite 200 @ Shady Trail (between 1-35 Stemmons Fwy and Harry Hines) • Dallas

Rhythm's of Spring

Reply To: mailto:angela@betwixt.org
What: Rhythm's of Spring Annual Festival
When: March 10-12
Where: Directions given at Registration

Rhythm's of Spring is traditionally a drum and dance festival that celebrates the quickening rhythms of the Earth as spring approaches. It's about settling your spirit long enough to examine your personal rhythms, to connect to those energies, and those around you. Above all it is about fellowship, joy, and the celebration of the coming spring. This is a camping weekend. Port-a-potties and hot showers are available but no electricity in the camping area. Directions to the camping area for this event will be given when you pay your registration fee and driving time will be approximately 2 hours.

Spring is coming, and after these recent dark times, we could all use sometime outside to blow the winds of change in around us. Everyone is welcome to join us as we journey back to Circle Star Retreat for our seventh Rhythms of Spring! We will have the whole of Circle Star Retreat to ourselves for a beautiful weekend of Spring fever, spiritual questing and magick.

We will be focusing on developing our new area that has been generously provided to us by the owners of CSR. Come and help us settle in to our new home. We will make wind chimes to fill Red Moon Grove with sounds. Bring tools and wear appropriate clothing to do some work if you want to participate.

The main ritual will focus on dedicating Red Moon Gove and strengthen our connection to the land. Betwixt & Between's dance troupe: Syrn's of the Mist will perform to further the bond between the land and our community.

Remember to bring your camping gear, DRUMS, what ever food you want to eat, and firewood. We'll provide the coffee. A couple things to share with the feast and your friends. Whip Cream, chocolate syrup, strawberries and any tasty fun treat you wish to share. Sharing is good. Magickal stones, beads, feathers, durable outdoor art, to help bring the magick to CSR, and to gift to the fairies.

Also feel free to bring toys, body paints, costumes, funny hats, kites, toy air planes, yo-yo's, hoola hoops, jump ropes, bubbles, body glitter, and anything else that will add to your delightful weekend, and stir your magickal child within.

This is a low maintenance festival intended to help us shed some of The stresses of the world outside CSR! Even if you can only come out for the day on Saturday, come out, join us and escape the mundane for just a little while.

Schedule:
3/10 Friday
3:00 PM Check in Begins
Friday Afternoon Gathering In
Dusk Just for fun sing along - bring music maker of your choice
3/11 Saturday
Working on Red Moon Grove, making wind chimes, kids activities
Afternoon Meditation - Bring blanket or Magick Carpet and pillow
7 pm Main Ritual - Dedication of Red Moon Grove
Feast To follow Ritual

REVEL!!!

3/12 Sunday
Joyous Morning Glory Go 'Round
3 pm Festival Close

Circle Star Retreat has beautiful trails; our favorite is the Witch's Walk. Through out the property you will find art, statuary, magickal hide a ways, and secrets that will delight you. The caretakers of this dream have created a magickal retreat to sooth the weariest of souls. There are plenty of little spots to explore for the curious at heart. Feel free to bring something precious to you to leave behind. We suggest a stone, a coin, a piece of jewelry, a part of yourself.

CMA Samhain

You need to have been a member this year, however if you would like to be a member or would like more info check out:
http://www.magickal-arts.org/spirithaven_about.html

Dear CMA Samhain 2005 Registrants, and members,

As you may know, CMA Samhain is upon us. It is due to increased gas
prices and an economy that is taking its toll on so many around us of
us that we come to you today with the project "All For One".

We currently have around 270 members registered at this moment, give
or take what's in the mail box today and these are the heavy days of
registration. Several individuals that I know just haven't registered
yet, just like myself and many in my own personal camp. What we are
concerned most about at this time is not the registered members, but
the morale and spirit of this membership who find themselves in
situations that prevent their attendance and our community at this
time as a whole.

This board and many of the staff's email inboxes are filled with
emails from folks who wish they could come but can't. The distress
that not being able to attend this event felt by many regular event
participants is heart breaking to say the least. A real part of our
reality is that with such devastation in the region, the affects of
Katrina and Rita on us all, and the recent loss of long time CMA
member Kevyn Petsch, that folks need CMA for the reasons it matters
most to us all, so we can come together, all for one.

To survive as an organization it is important that we learn to bend
and shape to the economic climate as it wanes on. At the same time it
is also important that we remember back to the reason CMA was founded
those twenty-five years ago, so that we could gather together, twice
in the wheel, to reconnect and to rejuvenate our spirits, while
observing the season.

We come to you now to ask you to think outside the box for a moment
with us in an effort to do what is best for the membership as a whole
at this time of great crisis in our community.

After great consideration we as a board have set up a fund for
donations to offset the cost of tickets for members less fortunate at
this time so we can let anyone who has been a member this year who
needs and wants to come to the event do so.

As mentioned earlier we are calling this project `All For One'.

With `All For One' we will open the event for everyone who would like
to attend, whether they can afford a ticket or not as long as they
have been members during the year 2005.

As Executive Director I take full responsibility for this suggestion,
but also know it has the support of the rest of the board who are
great team players who I owe such gratitude for their leap of faith
in this matter.

Our thoughts as such, those of you who can afford to come have
probably already registered for the event or are still planning on
doing so.

We canvassed the first two hundred of you who registered early to get
your suggestions and opinions about this idea. For those who
responded we thank all of you involved in the process. Your support
of this matter brings all of us great hope about what lies at the
heart of our village.

This has been such a rough year, many of our folks are hanging on by
their fingernails, and to be able to open up this event, seems like
the very reasons CMA was originally founded to begin with, to be a
gathering place where we can find our strength together in our times
of need, to bring together our folk, our brothers and sisters of this
village. The folks who are in the direst straights at this time are
the folks who need CMA the very most right now.

Even before "All For One', this event was going to be run on a shoe
string. We have no outstanding debt at this time, and the land
payment has already been set back in the savings account.

Many of you that we have contacted have already offered to help as
you can in response to this call of action.

Some of the folks we have contacted have already volunteered to
donate money to help cover the additional cost impact we face by
having the additional members attending the event. Some have offered
to help with car pooling.

Gryphon, the vendor, has saved us the cost of all tent rentals by
offering to provide our tent needs this event, along with other
assistance as we need it. The Magick Cauldron has been generous in
donations towards the cost of work weekends, and has donated $1000.00
to the 'All For One' Ticket Fund.

We have all of our printing needs donated this event. The cost of the
entertainment that we had already contracted will now be covered by a
donation from Walter Five and myself as our hand fasting present to
our village.

There has been so much pitching in at the idea of opening the gates
to the members that it would be hard to list it all.

This offer is open to all members who have had a current membership
within the year 2005. To come to the event through the `All For One'
program, we ask that you RSVP at the email address provided below. This
information is crucial to help us make sure we have enough services for
the number of attendees we anticipate.

We also ask that if you can contribute something toward your ticket at
this time please do so. We ask that only members in real need apply. If
you can offer additional help beyond your required two hour community
service level, we would also greatly appreciate that. All event attendees
will be expected to do their part by doing their community service.
Again, remember it takes village.

Tickets@magickal-arts.org

We are asking members to also utilize their area lists and `The
Village' list to help coordinate community kitchens to support the needs
of our village, to reduce the redundancy of items we all bring as ways to
help orchestrate and facilitate car pooling in your areas.

*Please note food tickets that have been purchased for the Bubbling
Cauldron will operate just as they always have.

As Executive Director I must impress upon you how important it is to
utilize this time of gathering in to also open up serious dialog to
address the very construct of way this corporation is run if we hope to
ever move past that which continues to challenge us most with in CMA. The
current system we have in place to govern the organization as a whole
puts far to much stress on a volunteer staff leaving many of us working
40, 50 and 60 hours a week, every week, just to maintain a company
designed to put on two four days festivals. This is largely because most
of what we find our time being spent on has very little to do with
putting together a festival. There has to be an easier less stressful way
to do this for all of us, a kinder gentler way. There just has to be.

At this event we need to address the cost of owning and maintaining land
as it is becoming increasingly more difficult in light of such economic
down turn and cannot continue to be maintained the backs of just a few.

While much of these ideas and concepts are not how CMA has done business
in the past, this effort is intended to help us all find a way to get
back to the heart of the matter, our desire to gather and observe Samhain
and it's season as a village.

Witches in the Netherlands get tax break

Oct. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Margarita Rongen, who teaches spells and potions to witches in the Dutch village of Appelscha, says a court ruling that gave her trainees a tax break brought in hundreds of potential new recruits.
Rongen, 56, who offers the Netherlands' only program that certifies witches, is getting applications from as far off as Australia and Dubai, she said. The court, in the Dutch town of Leeuwaarden, ruled on Sept. 26 that the 1,830-euro ($2,208) cost of her course is tax deductible.

``Many people who have reached a dead end come to me because they want to make a change in their life,'' said Rongen, who's been a witch for 37 years. ``Now students know they will get their money back.'' She spoke in an interview on Sept. 30 in her school's shop, which sells products such as blessed magic candles for 6.95 euros apiece.

Rongen has for seven years run 366-day courses, each encompassing 13 full moons at the school she founded and called Heksehoeve, or Dutch for ``witch farmhouse.'' The court decision, which recognizes her training as a legitimate way of making money, prompted Rongen to sell weekend tutoring and English- language compact discs. She's employed her son and his girlfriend, also a witch, to help.

Books including J.K. Rowling's ``Harry Potter'' series and ``Lord of the Rings,'' by J.R.R. Tolkien, helped raise awareness about magic, Ronge said. She holds five-day summer camps for children as young as 12, where instruction includes how to make a ``witch altar.'' The altar holds items such as a candle, a saucer with salt and a small statue of ``mother earth.''

`Interest Resurgent'

Interest in witchcraft worldwide has been ``resurgent,'' according to the Web site Bible.com, which promotes the Christian religion. Bible.com cites the popularity of the ``Harry Potter'' books as a reason. The Columbia Encyclopedia attributes a revival in witchcraft partly to attempts at new forms of healing and a reverence for nature.

Among organizations supporting witchcraft, the Canoga Park, California-based California Astrology Association, formed in 1970, sells products including ``love spells'' and ``witchcraft spells'' and, according to its Web site, now has customers in more than 80 countries.

Rongen's course ``certainly helped me in my work,'' Maaike Buurman, 39, a pupil at Heksehoeve and plaintiff in the case that resulted in the tax ruling, said in an interview on Oct. 4.

The decision applies to taxpayers in the Netherlands on condition the training is used to earn money, said Gera van Weenum, a spokeswoman for the Dutch tax authority.

Pagan Federation

The ruling was questioned by the Christian Democratic Appeal, the largest party in parliament, on Sept. 29. The party asked to what extent a course for witches may be deemed useful for employment purposes. It said it intends to address the issue again in parliament.

Marcel Burgy, a tax adviser at Berk, an independent member of Baker Tilly International in Leiden, the Netherlands, said the court's ruling is logical.

``The plaintiff has clearly stated she's going to use the witch course to further her career,'' Burgy said in an interview on Oct. 4. ``It wouldn't have been tax deductible if the plaintiff had taken the course just for fun.''

Charlie Bruijsten, a tax adviser at Ernst & Young in Arnhem, in the east of the Netherlands, said Buurman qualified for the tax break because she took the course ``with the objective of improving her position in the employment market.''

Rongen says she's not aware of any other course for witch training in the Netherlands, which has no witchcraft association. Pagan Federation International, which has a Dutch branch in the city of Zeist, advises on performances of rituals at events including weddings and baptisms, not on witchcraft.

`Book of Shadows'

Buurman, an actress, enrolled in Rongen's course so that she could teach about the Middle Ages and witchcraft in schools. Buurman also does role-playing as a witch at Muiderslot, a castle in the northwest of the Netherlands built near 1280.

Rongen, who speaks seven languages, including German and Italian, is adding weekend workshops at her school, which is in the north of the Netherlands, to meet demand.

Students who take Rongen's full, 13-moons witch course meet nine times in the course of a year at Heksehoeve from Saturday until Sunday at noon.

During the nine weekends, learner witches practice aura reading, meditation and celebrating the full moon. They get four written assignments and record everything they learn in a personal volume called a ``Book of Shadows.''

The course finishes with an initiation ceremony, during which each witch performs a ritual of her choice, such as stepping on twigs or reciting a poem.

Past students include psychologists and accountants, Rongen said, declining to provide identities.

This is a story about a tribe friend of mine's neice. lets send this little girl all the positive vibes possible!!!!!

i apologize that this is such a long read!

Fighting from day one

Thursday, August 25, 2005

By Erin Musgrave/Staff Writer

Hollister - Some people are born fighters.

Seven-month old Hollister resident Abagail Rodriguez is one of those people.

Abagail’s mother, Michelle, gave birth to a healthy, 8-pound, 10-ounce baby girl in January at St. Louise Regional Hospital without a single complication.

But Michelle, her husband Bryan and their 4-year-old son, Marcus’s new-baby bliss was short-lived. Beginning the day they brought Abagail home, the Rodriguez family knew that although their daughter acted like a normal newborn something was dreadfully wrong - she was yellow.

Alarmed, the family took 4-day-old Abagail to Hazel Hawkins Hospital for blood tests.

“She was so jaundiced, she was yellow. Orange-yellow, her eyes, everything,” Michelle said. “I was totally petrified. I have a brand new baby, everything was fine, she ate fine, everything - she just looked yellow.”

The tests showed that Abagail’s jaundice levels were off the charts, but no one could figure out why. So the Rodriguez family made the first of many trips to the children’s hospital at Stanford Medical Center.

It was beginning of a long journey through a world of medical tests, alarming diagnoses, the terrifying possibility their newborn may not live and, finally, a cure that seemed miraculous. But the ordeal that took only a couple months left the family with $6 million in medical bills, yet thankful for the tiny fighter whose struggle to survive has inspired them all.

On that first trip to Stanford, doctors performed several procedures and managed to bring the infant’s jaundice levels down to a normal level. But just before she was about to be released, pediatricians discovered Abagail tested positive for Group B Strep - a virus that can be lethal in babies, Michelle said.

“The funny thing is that she never had it (strep), it was a fluke mistake,” Michelle said. “But thank God she tested positive because she had to stay 10 more days for antibiotics and on the fifth day she got really sick.”

So sick that the baby turned deathly white, and suddenly something started protruding from her abdomen.

For three days the hospital’s specialists poked and prodded Abagail, performed ultrasounds and X-rays and at one time thought she was born with an extra organ. But none of the doctors could determine what the enormous mass crowding the baby’s abdominal cavity was, Michelle said.

Abagail was deteriorating so rapidly that Michelle and Bryan gave the doctors permission to open up their 2-week-old baby on the operating table to determine what was making her ill.

“It was supposed to be a three-hour surgery, but two hours into surgery the doctor came out and said, ‘You’re not going to believe what we found,’” Michelle said. “There was a 14-inch long by 3-and-a-half-inch wide cyst that had attached to her vaginal wall, bladder and small intestines and was living off her body… and was pushing everything out. They still have no clue where it came from or how it formed.”

The doctors repaired most of the internal damage, but couldn’t remove the entire cyst from her bladder. More tests will have to be performed as she gets older, her mother said.

But after the roller-coaster medical ride and several weeks of practically living at the hospital, Abagail’s health was improving dramatically and she was almost ready to go home.

“I had just left her, got home from Stanford and my husband said, ‘Stanford just called.’ So I called Stanford and they said Abby had taken a turn for the worse,” Michelle said. “We headed back up there and they were resuscitating her - she wasn’t even alive when we walked in. They said the usual, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez, this isn’t good,’ and my husband and I just bawled.”

Abagail had stopped breathing and essentially died for a short time. Doctors believed she had vomited and aspirated the fluid back in when she received her first real feeding from her mother after living off intravenous fluids for so long.

Abagail’s last hope for survival was a heart/lung bypass machine called “ECMO,” an acronym for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation. The machine would have to serve as Abagail’s heart and lungs because hers were too weak to function on their own, Michelle said.

The machine, which sustained Abagail’s life for about four days, filtered toxic blood out of Abagail’s body and put clean blood in, while pumping oxygen through her body, her mother said.

In order for the baby to be on the machine, she had an IV inserted into the jugular vein on her neck and she had to be put into a drug-induced coma so she wouldn’t accidentally pull the IV loose - causing her to bleed to death, Michelle said.

The machine worked, and doctors gradually weaned Abagail off the support system. She finally made it home several months ago.

“She was like our little Frankenstein baby when we brought her home,” Michelle said, referring to the scar lining Abagail’s entire abdomen where the cyst was removed and the one in her neck where ECMO was attached to her 21-inch-long body.

And while Abagail is recovering surprisingly well, she experienced nerve damage to her left leg and foot, which she can’t use. It’s also too soon to tell if Abagail will experience any physical or mental delays due to the complications.

“It’s a huge waiting game, we’ll just have to see how she progresses,” Michelle said. “It’s been a ride, though. It’s something you see on TV and never think it would happen to you. Ever. But you get through it for the sake of your children. I’ve had my meltdowns, but you find out real quick it doesn’t get you anywhere.”

Abagail’s pediatric nurse, Marie Spencer, has followed the baby’s progress through all the trials and tribulations and believes Abagail should be able to lead a normal life thanks to her inherent “spunk” and will to live.

However the financial strain on her family has been tremendous, she said.

“This is a family who’s really good people who have fallen through the cracks financially,” Marie said. “But the community seems like its pulling together to help, and I’d like to see more services available to this family.”

Services that include subjecting Abagail to constant tests, hospital visits and physical therapy are part of the Rodriguez’s life now, but supplementing the techniques that could enable her to live a normal life come at a price.

And it’s big. Six million dollars, big, Michelle said.

While the family’s insurance will cover the brunt of the medical bills, the company dropped the family from its policy because the baby burned through the amount of money a lifetime policy provides in only a few months, Michelle said. Michelle is a stay-at-home mom, so Bryan has had to pick up several odd jobs in addition to his full-time job as an equipment mechanic to cover the several hundred thousand dollars the couple will have to pay out of their own pocket.

Fortunately, Michelle said the community has rallied to help them, providing emotional support, food and monetary donations. Michelle’s high school pal, Shari Hubbell, who also worked at Michelle’s pediatrician’s office, is organizing a rummage sale and raffle to help raise money for Abagail’s medical bills.

“I had to do something,” she said. “They were dealt those cards that, financially, were so overwhelming.”

While Michelle concedes the ordeal has been nothing short of every parent’s worst nightmare, Abagail’s fight for survival has taught her parents never to take anything for granted. And because much of Abagail’s illnesses were firsts for doctors at Stanford, the family signed a release allowing the procedures and problems to be documented in medical journals for educational purposes, Michelle said.

“If it’s going to help other kids and let doctors find out answers I think that it was well worth it. Maybe that was why she was put here, to find a cure for something else,” Michelle said. “She fought and fought and fought. She is very strong-willed. We’re doomed when she gets older.”

Tickets for the raffle can be purchased at Attitudes and Images at 650 San Benito Street, which will be held Sept. 11 at the Pinnacle Building parking lot. People can also donate directly to the Abagail Rodriguez Medical Fund set up at San Benito Bank.

For more information about the rummage sale and raffle, or to donate to the family, contact Shari Hubbell at (831) 637-4598, or at hubbell@garlic.com

Money spell

Posted with permission:

BLESSED BUCKS MONEY SPELL

This Money Spell is SO effective, I swear to you that I believe
it has been and still is the continuing reason for my financial
"success". For me, the results began to manifest in 3-4 weeks
after I started doing this Spell and since then I keep it going
by repeating it once a month or so. (I've been doing it for 14
years, now and I live in a house that's paid for with an acre of
beautiful land...and have never been "broke" once, since I
started)

Take one or more one dollar bills and write a Blessing on them
with a permanent marker. The Blessing I use is, "May You be
Blessed with Health, Wealth and Love". Natch, you can use mine or
make up your own.

Then take the Blessed Bucks out into the world and hide them in
places where people will find them, NEVER just drop one on the
ground---that might look like an accident.

Great places to hide them are:

Open a newspaper kiosk and slip one inside a newspaper,
especially in the JOBS section.

Carry a glue stick with you and go inside a grocery store ...
glue a Blessed Buck on the back of a food item, milk, or my
favorite, a box of Pampers.

Glue one to the stall door in a public restroom.

It doesn't matter where ... just wherever somebody will find it.

The only other Rule is, NEVER stay to watch who finds it!

I think the reason this Spell is so effective is, it brings the
Laws of "Reap and Sow" into play and the Universe pays off BIG
time, because while you're putting out the symbol of money, a
dollar, you're actually giving out JOY ... because, imagine
FINDING one! Wouldn't it just make your day? Wouldn't it change a
crappy mood to one of elation? Wouldn't you call everybody you
know and say, "You wont believe what happened to me today!"

Or ... suppose you were tired and broke and looking for a job ...
and opened the WANT ADS ... and saw this amazing surprise!

Altogether, for one crummy buck, a LOT more than a buck's worth
of happiness comes from it ... I think the Universe pays back in
the same symbol, dollars, but matches and 100-folds the Joy with
MORE dollars.

Plus, it's so much FUN. Once I was slifing thru the A&P looking
of a new place to hide my Buck and noticed the assistant manager
following me ... so, I hurried over to the Pampers and quickly
glued my Buck to a box ... just as the guy rounded the corner ...
and I froze, like a deer in the headlights, and he says, "HOLD
IT! OK ... what are you trying to do ... I've been watching
you!"

Natch, he assumed I was a shoplifter ... so, I showed him the
dollar bill glued to the Pampers ... said, "It's my hobby ..."
and left him standing there, open-mouthed. teehee!

Even ONE Blessed Buck a week will work, though I try to put four or
five out there. If you KEEP doing it, money will constantly be
coming back to you, MANY-fold.

The Samhain moon caresses the tricksters in the streets as they shadow their prey. In the depths of night, a song of ethereal pain lingers in the dampness as lost souls vent their loneliness. The immortal ones stir and assemble at the Witching hour. Darkness shrouds their unearthly manner as they begin to beckon. In this night of immortal ecstasy, we awaken and answer the ominous invitation …

The chill winds of autumn whisper to Witches and guests who journey from afar to Dallas to stir and welcome the creatures that walk among us on Samhain night. From time long ago, the people of the shadows used this holy festival to journey between the veils and beyond, where most fear to go. If you jump to the left you can see robed figures move into an enchanted circle where mystery and Magick unfold. And, if you step to the right, darkness warps …into the Dallas Witches Ball 2004.
Yeah, yeah...I know...I don't mean to offend anyone who is offended by that term...

But...anyone know of anything to do that is fun for someone who is of another religious persuasion on this night?

My sister, her bf, and two others will be my companions on this eve and we were going to go to Screams? Anyone been?
I heard it was kind of cheesy so that idea was scratched...

Now we are planless on Halloween.

Ok, so last night I had a wonderfuly vivid dream about a black jaguar I had as a pet. He was huge, filled the back seat of my car, which is where he was. I was up in the mountians of Utah. I was driving out to a valley with the fall colors all round. I let the Jag out of the car so he could go for a walk. It was somthing I did reguarly. There was a man I met on the road and I had a hard time convincing him ( if I ever did) that it was not in fact a "big kitty" but a Jaguar, but he didn't need to be scared 'cause he was a very friendly big cat.

I did not remember this dream upon wakening this moring, however, while driving to work this morning I passed a big fuel truck with Jaguars on the mud flaps which brought the whole dream just rushing back.

Sooooooooo..... Anyone know the symboligy of a black Jag? Or any other feed back on the dream?
JG

Hello, all. I am looking for an herb called "ajenjible." I have found no source for it yet on the Internet. I don't even know its Latin name or if it goes by any others. I believe it to be a Mexican plant, and it is used in teas and washes.

Has anyone heard of this or know where I can get seeds, a plant, or the dried herb itself? Or even another name I can look for it under?

Thanks much,

Goddess of the Week : Isis

Isis

the great goddess of ancient Egypt whose worship came to spread across many lands and continues even today. Her name was originally Au Set (Auzit, Eset), meaning "exceeding queen" but the Greeks altered the pronunciation to Isis. The Greeks called her myrionymos - "the one with ten thousand names" - and identified her with their own goddesses. As goddess of love, she was Aphrodite, as goddess of magical arts, she was Hacate; as the wife of the king of the gods, she was Hera; as the provider of corn, she was Demeter, and so on. A Roman inscription read "Thou, the one who is all, goddess Isis."

In the beginning, there was the mighty god Ra and his wife Nut. Nut was in love with the god Geb. When Ra found out about this union he was furious. In his rage, he forbid Nut to have children on any of the 360 days that currently made up the year. Nut was very sad.

She called on her friend, Thoth, to help her. He knew that Ra's curse must be fulfilled, but he had an idea. Thoth engaged the moon goddess, Silene, in a wager. At the time, Silene's light (the moon) rivaled the light of Ra (the sun). Thoth was victorious, he was rewarded with one seventh of Silene's light. This is why the moon now wanes each month. Thoth took this light and added five days to the calendar, bringing the year from 360 days to 365. This gave Nut 5 days on which she could have children, while at the same time obeying Ra's commandment. On the first of these days, Nut gave birth to Osiris. On the second day Horus was born, Seth on the third, Isis the fourth, and Nephthys on the fifth day. At the time of Osiris' birth, a loud voice was heard all over the world, saying, "The lord of all the Earth is born."

Osiris grew and became a mighty king. He went about the job of civilizing his people. He taught them agriculture and animal husbandry. He gave them a code of laws to live by and showed them the proper ways in which to worship the gods. Egypt became a mighty land under his kind and gentle rule. His subjects gladly worshiped the ground on which he walked. When Egypt was civilized, Osiris left to bring his teachings to other lands. While Osiris was away, he left his wife, Isis, in charge. She ruled the country in the same fashion. But Osiris had an enemy, his bitter and jealous brother, Seth.

Seth began scheming against the great king. He aligned himself with Aso, the queen of Ethiopia, and 72 other conspirators. But nothing could be done while Isis ruled the country, her authority was unquestionable.

Upon Osiris' return, an evil plot was put into motion. Seth secretly acquired the measurements of Osiris and began having a wonderfully decorated box built to fit those measurements. When the box was finished, Seth had a great feast to which he invited Osiris and the 72 conspirators. Having absolutely no evil in him, Osiris suspected nothing.

Isis was the daughter of Geb (the earth) and Nut (the Sky) and sister to Osiris, set (also known as Seth), and Nephthys. She obtained immortality by tricking Ra, the sun god. When Ra was an old man, Isis fashioned a snake from earth that Ra had spat upon. She placed it in his path so that it bit him. She offered to save him with her magical arts, but only if he told her his true name. When he finally did so, she became immortal by virtue of knowing that name.

Although she was Osiris's brother, Isis became his wife. Their evil brother Set, jealous of Osiris, killed him. Osiris's body ended up encased in a tree, which subsequently cut down to build a column to hold up the front of the king of Byblos. After much searching, Isis learned of the whereabouts of Osiris's body and, by revealing herself, obtained it and took it back to Egypt. However Set soon discovered that the body was back in Egypt and he attacked it, cutting Osiris's body into fourteen pieces and scattered them throughout the land.

Once again Isis searched for Osiris and eventually she found all parts of his body except his penis, which had been eaten by fish. She fashioned a gold penis to replace it, consecrated it, and gave life back to Osiris. He proceeded to impregnate her and she gave birth to Horus. Osiris then went to rule the underworld, emerging only to train Horus to fight Set and punish him. Horus defeated set and delivered him, in chains, to Isis. But she released him.

Isis has been worshipped all over the world for 6,000 years, in her many forms. Her sacred animal is cow, for she gives life and prosperity. The consecration rituals of the mysteries of Isis are described in detail in Lucius Apeleius's Metaporphoses, or The Golden Ass (c. 100 CE).

Goddess of the Week: Medussa

Suggested Mantra: Articulation
Medussa's esoteric attributes are those of focus, communication and creative __expression. Her frozen face of rage is a trigger to unfreeze your anger or frustration and release it from your body. Articulate your feelings and needs.

Suggested Affirmations:
*I feel release through communication
*I connect with my needs, and let them be known
*It is easy to articulate my feelings
*I am freed through communication
*Freedom is a privilige I enjoy
*I release my anger, I embrace joy

Related Essences: Frangipani, tea rose, lilac, lily of the valley.

Related Gemstones: Lapis lazuli, aquamarine, turquoise ( light blue stones ).

Medussa was a beautiful African queen, an archetypal amazon warrior. Her image in the modern day is skewed to the patriarchal myth of fearful ugliness, a model of behaviour punishable by physical destruction. It is possible that the myths started through men's fear of the femine divine
wisdom represented by the snakes, and the frozen anger on Medussa's face
representing incredible inner strength manifesting in outer rage.

However, as a spiritual warrior who fiercely defended values of freedom and independence, she is a goddess to be revered and honoured for her lessons in courage, strength and awareness.

Medussa is related to the throat chakra, not surprisingly. It is through the throat chakra that communicative energy flows, a healing power allowing the reconnection of the head, body, emotions, feelings, the higher mind and psychic energy.

In some images, Medussa is depicted with golden wings. You have
permission to borrow these wings from Medussa and attach them to your shoulders.

Effortlessly, you rise from the earth and fly to a cliff-top. Open your mouth, and fill your lungs with the wind that is whistling past your strong, healthy body. From the depths of your inner body, let the air carress your larynx as it leaves your body and is catapulted back into the Universe. Watch your voice leave your mouth as it floats up past your face and carries your emotions with it.

Embrace the release of weightiness that you experience, and relish the lightness of being!

My Exorcist Review.

Dont know if anyone else is interested in the film, but here is my review if you are.

Exorcist: The Beginning.

Well, as most know, the Exorcist has been near and dear to me for damn near 30 years. The VAST majority of my life. So, here is my review, that differs quite a bit from that of a CNN review seen last week. Knowing a bit about religion, the way things happened in the World Wars, and something about demonology helps to see where this film is coming from, and where it intended to go. If you don't have some of this knowledge, it is easy to see why it would initially appear to be offensive, and vile in parts.

Ok, offensive scene number one is the very opening scene is a battle worn warrior, who is a sole survivor in a recent battle. Walking amongst the dead, and dismembered bodies. The camera pans out, and the ills are covered with crucified dead and dying. Only thing is, they were indeed inverted. Many not dead yet, but straining and dying. You knew at this point why the reviewer, who obviously was or is Christian would have been offended. Christians tend to be repulsed at an inverted cross, even if Jesus is not the one on it. Fact is, the Romans crucified people long before Jesus was around, and did in fact hang many war time and treason offenders upside down.

After that scene, you go to Cairo Egypt, where Lancaster meets up with some guy who looks to be an Indian Jones villain. They set up the film by asking the priest who has lost his faith (explained later in the film with more detail as it goes on) in the war. So, Lancatser goes into the wilds of Africa, where some "odd things are happening". It sets up a lot like the original, in that it can be a bit slow moving, but the lay out and explain a lot through that, and there are tid bids of things tossed out. The thing is, the really delve deeply into the demonology aspect of the film. Point here is that, this is the first film where you will see, keep in mind this is one of the scenes the reviewer from CNN thought offensive, when Pazuzu is born and cast out of the tribe. In case you do not know, Pazuzu is the winged demon of Mesopotamia, who is responsible for the swarms, and is the King Of Winds and Plague. When Paz, as he is affectionately known, was born, he was covered in flesh eating maggots, and badly deformed. The village cast him out, and put him to death. His spirit exacted revenge upon them, however, Paz was and is NOT and entirely evil entity. Pregnant women often wear amulets with his image, as he does protect children, and child birth from the demon Lamashtu. Well, the movie shows the birth. See, offensive you you know nothing. I guess the reviewer must have thought they just showed a baby born who just happened to LOOK like Pazuzu, and covered in maggots, the reason ht IS the demon of swarm and infestation.

The other offensive scenes are as they cover the reason Lancaster lost his faith. You see, Merrin was in the war, in Nazi Germany. One of the Nazi's was going to murder the children unless Lancaster "chose" who to shoot. So Merrin, put into that position, chose to pick the older, elder people there, and save the children. For about a 3 minute scene, the show Lancaster choosing different people, and the Nazi shooting them dead, whilst repeating the phrase "God is not here today priest". Fact is, things like this DID happen during that time, so I fail to see how this was offensive, as a blaming stroke of the film.

Fact is, this IS a good film. There are visual references to Liber Al Legis (The Book Of The Law) where one guy is crucified in the church, and the birds are pecking his eyes. And I quote, "...Curse them! Curse them!" With my Hawk's head I peck at the eyes of Jesus as he hangs upon the cross. I flap my wings in the face of Mohammed & blind him...". There are many stories inside the main story that fit into this and leave VERy few holes in the film. I am also of the opinion that Stellan Skarsgård did an excellent job with Max Von Sydow's played role. It is convincing that Stellan's Merrin became Max's Merrin.

As Crowley would say, "If you ignore the elder gods, ones many Christians see as Satanic, they become angry, restless, and begin to impose their will upon you". This film depicts that act, in full detail. Seems as though in synchronicity with the release of the film, Pazuzu is becoming active again, in Sudan and Jordan, as the swarms are on their way.

Cheers,

J E S T E R

Faith and Skepticism

Wicca & Magick: Interesting Articles & Opinions: Faith and Skepticism

(Article about mental blocks of skepticism in advanced ritualism,
written by Estara.)

It happens to everyone every so often, myself included. You'll be
going along, keeping your Sabbats and doing your everyday spiritual
and magical workings, and everything seems to be fine, when
suddenly, everything just seems to go dull. Your intuitions are off,
or your spells go haywire, or the thought creeps into your head, So,
I'm sitting during ritual work, talking to a dragon in my head.
What, am I out of my mind?

It may help you to know that several occult authors consider this to
be progress.

Let me digress for a moment into the balance of faith and skepticism
that is important for the effectiveness and sanity of any worker of
magic. On one hand, faith must play a role in the spiritual and
magical realms, since they are usually imperceptible and essentially
unprovable by physical science or the physical senses. Too much
doubt only eats away at your ability to trust your abilities and
perceptions, and eventually at those abilities and perceptions
themselves.

On the other hand, if you are going to deal with the Otherworld on a
regular basis, you must learn to measure how "true" your perceptions
are, and how reliable are your otherworldly companions--otherwise
you will stop growing or be sold a bridge by a spirit looking for
laughs at your expense.

And so, in normal workings, it pays to keep a certain mindset.
Assume, for your own sanity, that your experiences are essentially
genuine. (In fact it often doesn't matter ultimately whether a
particular journey is into another realm or into your own head, as
long as you use the information to improve yourself. The growth will
be genuine either way.) However, do compare notes with others who
take the same journey if you work in a group. You will probably find
that over time, with practice, you will more and more be sharing the
same experience, and this is an extremely gratifying thing to
discover. It also allows for things like a group journey to find a
single totem or guide who is willing to help an entire coven. You
will be able to compare the quirks of how you perceive the other
worlds and energy, and learn where you may be strong or weak in your
skills.

Another good idea is to research any teachings you receive from
astral guides, or any past life memories. You may find confirmation
of what you have been taught or have remembered, which is again very
gratifying. You may also find clarification of what was meant that
will encourage even more development for you. Or you may find no
such confirmation, and know that you need more clarification--and
possibly some revisions--before you can trust and use the information

But we were talking about the other kind of doubt--the one that
comes and sits on your head when you're about to do something
important and whispers unpleasant nothings in your ear. If you were
raised Christian, it may whisper about delusion and devil worship.
If you were raised agnostic or atheist, it may deride your work as
superstitious nonsense. If you have trouble with your self-esteem,
it will poke fun at the "specialness" of being able to do magic. It
will find your weakness and poke at it with a pointed stick.

It's you. And as I mentioned, it is by several accounts a sign that
you are getting somewhere.

Aleister Crowley defines this as an "Apophis stage." He defines the
study of magic as a continuing three-part cycle, and names the
stages Isis, Apophis, and Osiris, after Egyptian gods. (By the way,
the initials are IAO, a divine name from Hermeticism that has
several other applications in ceremonial magic.) In the Isis stage,
we have just begun a certain phase of development. Everything comes
easily, and we feel quite good about ourselves and our studies. But
then, Apophis comes. Our abilities seem to dry up, or at least
become very difficult to use, and we are plagued by dark thoughts of
failure.

We can give up here: many people do. We can leave the occult
entirely, or move into another Isis stage in another discipline. But
to deepen, we have to keep working through Apophis to get to Osiris.
In the Osiris stage, our abilities return, different than before, in
the light of our new understanding. We have gained wisdom and depth
that will enrich all of our future cycles.

For Wiccans, it will not take much imagination to compare this cycle
to that of Life, Death, and Rebirth that we celebrate, or to the
initiation in which we are tried, and symbolically die and are
reborn. For followers of the Northern paths, a comparison might be
made to Odin's willingness, time and again, to sacrifice of himself
to gain more magic and wisdom.

Of course, not every passing this is silly thought develops into a
dark night of the soul, but even the smaller ones can serve as
signposts. Marian Green, in her book A Witch Alone, discusses the
momentary doubts that plague each of us at some point. (Excerpt
follows.)

"If you commit yourself to the Hidden Paths or walking the Old Ways
you will certainly be in for some surprises. The most common of
these are the feelings, which never entirely go away, of `Why on
Earth am I doing this? Why am I wearing this strange robe, talking
to trees or invisible beings, thinking that "spells" can possibly
work in the twentieth century?' You will often find, right in the
middle of a meditation or ritual, such thoughts creeping into your
head, making you feel a fool. This is a sure sign that your magic is
working, for you have so certainly stepped out of your normal role
in life or set aside, just for the moment, the very ordinary self to
adopt that magical inner personality, that it is trying to reassert
what it considers normality."

"It never entirely goes away, as any adepts you come across will
tell you, and even after decades of participating in celebrations,
speaking directly with the Old Ones, venturing into the wilderness,
both without and within, this sense of amusement, of fun and wonder,
never really dies. It is a recollection that you are indeed straying
from the ordinary world and it should never trouble you, just
provide a moment's humour when the power is coming through."

Keep on with guarding, with faith, a sense of humor, and a single
grain of salt, and blessed may you be.

Anyone else perfome Resh ritual, and if so, do you find it to be a bit on the arousing side? Just curious as to if this is something universal or not. Seems to be from others I have talked with.

THE GODDESS HECATE

THE GODDESS HECATE

As a triple Goddess, Hecate represents Maiden, Mother and Crone; mind, body and spirit; and birth, life and death. As Mistress of the Night, She represents the three stages of the lunar cycle of New, Full and Dark.

Hecate symbolizes the dark within us, the part of our psyche we refuse to acknowledge. Many ignore the wisdom, the strength and the truth of Hecate because our fear of the darkness is so strong. Hecate is associated with the dark side of the moon, but this is the true Moon. The Moon has no light of its own, only reflected light from the sun. Dark is the Moon's true color as is Hecate's. Although most see Hecate as the third phase of the moon, She is actually a Triple Goddess in her own right. She is Hecate the maiden, Hecate the Mother, and Hecate the Crone.
Hecate can be called upon during any moon phase, as She is the One and the Three. In pronouncing her name, in the Greek language the "H" is silent.
So, to properly pronounce her name is "E-CA-TA" or "e-CO-ta."

In Her maiden aspect, she stands for new beginnings. She can also be called upon when you need to look at something in a new, fresher way....a way that you have never looked at it before. You turn to Her when the moon begins to first wax. In Her Mother aspect is a time to turn to Her when you need nurturing and protection like any mother would give. Turn to Her when the Moon is Full. In Her Crone aspect, it is a time to turn to for protection, wisdom and magick. However, please bear in mind that
Hecate is not a Goddess full of tenderness and compassion with white lace and linen.

She is also more prone to be stern with you if you brought a situation upon yourself. However, Her wrath is swift and just to those who cause harm to a follower of Hers, because those who seek Her, honor Her and do not fear Her are in Her protection and She does not take lightly to those who cause them harm. She does not tolerate nor does She coddle.

Turn to another Goddess if you seek this. Her actions are swift and without frills. So, when you do call upon Her, be prepared for Her swift actions and changes because it might not be what you expected.

Hecate teaches us an important lesson, which is that the feminine should be valued for itself, not because it brings sexuality or power, but because deep within it there is an eternal wisdom. Hecate is also the High Priestess, the keeper of the Mysteries. Hecate is not the priestess who seeks the inner knowledge, but High Priestess who has found it and imparts it to others.

Hecate, who sits enthroned before the Veil of the Temple as the High Priestess, the card in the Tarot which is ruled by the Moon. To reach daylight on the other side of the Veil, we must all become at one with the Dark Mother of the night. Whether it be Hecate guarding the home or of the temple, She will avert evil and provides protection.

The Goddess Hecate is also known as the liberator of women, as she sets women free from the bonds created by man. That is why the Christian Church put Hecate down and created her as the Goddess of evil and destruction.

During Medieval times, pagans were being tortured based on their belief in the Goddess. Patriarchy reigned and the fear of feminine power caused the Church to demonize Hecate. She was made infamous as the crone; old, wrinkled, ugly, warts protruding from her nose and chin, mysterious, dark
and loathsome.

Many mistakenly call Her the destroyer, but She is not for if you destroy something, that something is forever gone. You cannot bring something back that has been destroyed. It has been said that the Goddess's service is perfect freedom. She is the liberator because She is manifest in our deepest drives and emotions, which always and inevitably threaten the systems designed to contain them. She is love and anger,
which refuse to fit comfortably into the social order.

To be "free from slavery" once meant that, within the ritual circle, all were equal, whether they were peasant, serf, or noble in the outside world. Slavery today could be mental and emotional as well as physical: the slavery of fixed perceptions, of conditioned ideas, of blind beliefs, of fear.
Witchcraft demands intellectual freedom and the courage to confront our own assumptions. It is not a belief system: it is a constantly self-renewed attitude of joy and wonder to the world. Hecate enforces feminine independence from masculine influences and this deals in all things including the religion known as Wicca. Wicca is heavily influenced by the male God.

The Sabbats are centered around the male God. The word Wicca is a male term....a term connected to the Goddess religion.

In today's society, we hide our elderly (or look right through them as if they do not exist) our sick, and our poor so e can pretend to be immune to such human conditions. But Hecate reminds us of the truth. She sees through the facade of societal amenities. She is not deceived by social standing, education or titles and wealth. Instead, She is impressed only by what is in the heart! She is patroness to those of the heart.

Hecate originally was a Thracian and pre-Olympian Goddess. Zeus bowed down to her antiquity by granting to Hecate alone a power shared by Zeus, that of withholding from humanity anything she wished. He also "granted" her the powers of the heavens, on Earth and the underworld......as if She did not have these powers already! He gave her nothing of that which She did not already have. Of all the Goddesses, she was the most markedly triple and the most complex. She was Goddess of the Wild Hunt. She was to Greeks and Romans, especially the Goddess of the crossroads. Statutes of Her stood there, and food offerings –"Hecate’s Supper" – were taken there at dead of night, on the eve of the full Moon.

Her annual festival on August 13 was a propitiatory one, to avert the harvest-destroying storms which the Moon is apt to send at around that time. She also haunted graveyards and the scenes of crimes–as a goddess of expiration and purification.

Hecate is the Darksome Mother, in both the positive and in the negative sense. To those that dare to welcome Her, she brings creative inspiration.

She is Hecate Antea, the Sender of Nocturnal Vision, and, typically of a Moon Goddess. She is Hecate Trivia, Goddess of the Crossroads.

One of her symbols is the torch, for the Dark Mother also holds the light which illuminates the Unconscious and reveals its treasures. With Her torches she guides those who are seeking the mysteries. The light from these torches will lead those wishing to understand the mysteries.

In the Tarot, She is the Threes and the High Priestess; Her gems are star sapphire, pearl, moonstone, and crystal; Plants are the yew tree, cypress, opium, poppy, almond, mugwort, hazel, moonwort, civet, menstrual blood, camphor, garlic, aloes, all sweet virginal odors; Tools are the cauldron, the besom, knives, the key; animals are the dogs and horses, black cats.
The owl is Her messenger. Her chariot is pulled by dragons. Hecate’s colors are silver and black.

Through Hecate’s Cauldron, we must look at our true self, the nature of our motives and the results of our actions, because only through Her cauldron can we truly be reborn in becoming a better person than we were before.
Only when we look into Her dark cauldron can we see the light.

Hecate, and none but She, is Queen of all living things. It is through Her that all things live or die. She is the laughing maiden, the living mother, and the black hag of death. She is the three and the one. She smiles and the radiance of the moon, whether it be full or dark, is everywhere for there is no power like Her power and no living thing can withstand Her
power. For She is anticipation. She is the fulfillment. She is death. Hear her words, children, worship and be glad for if you seek Her, She is with you always. She was with you in the beginning and shall be with you at the end.

Days of Hecate are August 13 which She is honored and prayed to in order to not send fearce thunderstorms and ruin and the crops. November 16 is the Night of Hecate which begins at sunset. This is the night of Hecate's
supper and animals were sacrificed in honor of Her. November 30 is Hecate-Trivia--the day of the Crossroads. The 29th of each month is the Moon of Hecate.

easy beer bread recipes

Yikes... can't get any easier than this! ;~) I haven't tried this one yet but those that have say it's great!

Beer Bread

1 can beer at room temperature
3 C self-rising flour
2 T sugar

Sift flour and sugar, stir in beer until well mixed. Bake in greased
9x5” loaf pan at 325 degrees for one hour. Remove from oven and coat
with melted butter.
Dave Julian (takes a man to come up with beer bread…LOL)
Food for Thought, Indiana Business College, Merrillville, Indiana

And this one...

ESTHER SHUTTLE- WORTH'S BEER BREAD

This unusual bread is as quick 'n' easy to make as it is tasty. Just mix 2 tablespoons of sugar into 3 cups of self-rising flour, and then add a 12ounce bottle of beer (stir well while you mix in the brew, and only add about 4 ounces at a time). Pour the batter into three well-greased 3" X 6" pans (use two if you'd like thicker loaves), and "drizzle" 1/2 cup of melted butter over the top. (The butter should form a 1/ 8" -at least-layer over the dough.) Bake this bread for about 50 minutes at 350°F ... and then just try to keep your family from eatin' it all as soon as it comes out of the oven!

[MOTHER'S NOTE: One of my recipe taster/testers, Elaine Wolf, baked up a batch of Mrs. Shuttleworth's beer bread, and everybody who had a chance to chow down on the loaves found 'em delicious. Elaine suggests that you could substitute 1 tablespoon of honey for the 2 tablespoons of sugar ... if you also decrease the amount of beer used by 1 tablespoon.]

The Witches Lament

Witches' Lament
"Remorse for evil one has done,
can dampen life and bring no fun.
On Sol's bright morn 'ere the noontide comes,
and an evil deed with remorsefulness numbs."

Take parchment and dove's blood (ink) and let your hand scribe, these
words of undoing that I prescrice.
"By some lower self possessed,
and in an instant much distressed,
my hand has erred, but not my heart.
So now the dark one must depart!
The deed is done....nor would I do it.
Therefore, never shall I ever rue it!"

Light a candle of gold or yellow, and fume with Frankincense and Myrrh
to make all mellow.
Set the paper to burn from the candle's flame, as you invoke Sol's
harmonious name.
Place it in a bowl of brass to burn and smoke and change it's mass.
Take up the blackened and charred trashes, and rub your hands with soot
and ashes.
Now cleans the hands with water and soap, and dry them against the flame
for new hope.
Saying thrice, to be precise:
"My past is cleansed, my future blessed.
No more my sleep shall bring unrest."

witchy stores

hi all. i'm not much of a witch i confess, but am a friend. i love the beauty and balance of witchcraft. i moved to college station (i know, ugh) from oregon. in oregon we had all these great little witchy shops with crystals and books and scrying materials and herbs and all kinds of lovely stuff. i know we don't have anything like that in my neighborhood, so i'm wondering if there are any of these majick shops in some of the larger cities. what are they called? how can they be found?

blessed be.

Hi, I am new to Tribe.net, a witch in Denton. Have been slack this year on doing much of anything, but am looking to get back to basics. Just wanted to introduce myself!

Anyone in the DFW are interested in getting together?

Just curious if you girls would like to have a girls night out or in. I have a pretty busy life between my daughter and work, but I also really want to make some female friends as well as some friends who understand my religious choice.
Anyone interested or have any ideas? I know there is just a few of us, but what fun we could have :)
