So how many of you Arians have heard about this? How many have used it and were consciously aware you were using your icy methods? Who did you use it on and how did they react?

i've always called it the "aries flare". i've got tons of aries friends and we all call it aries flare... i think it just sums up the bluntness or blunt force of our reactions to just about anything. is the ice different? i see how it could be...

Aries fire is the passionate anger we have but the ice is the more nonchallant, cold and uncaring last word type of reaction some people may get out of us. It leaves the person you're conversing with stumped on what say in return.

I thoght Aquarius is the classic sign to be cold. Either way I have mars in Aquarius so I guess this fire and ice concept applies to me.

Aquarius is detached and intellectualizes everything. Not necessarily cold though. It could be percieved as cold due to the detached nature of the sign.

What is Aries Ice? Is it when you get all cold and aloof on people and it's like they never existed? Like and indifferene ind of feeling?

      Kjetil,

Well it's more than that I think it's more a conversation where you have the last word and it's cold and cutting. You say something a person would never expect you to say and walk out of the room, not listening to what they have to say in return.

lol, all the time with people who somhow think they're right or with people who somehow think they have power over me. my gemini dad loooves to critisize me when he is in his cookiemonster modes, so I have the aries "ice, ice, baby" training down since my teens. I totally alpha male him.

        Never give away your power.

Uhm, about aries ice... It's a bit hard to explain, but it's mostly this: an Arien's fire is so dampened by rejection or neglect, etc. (i.e., too much jealousy) that he/she "freezes", or detaches from something.

    here's an example:
Carol is an Aries, and is married to Amyas, a womanizing Sagittarius. The first few years of their marriage is filled with violent confrontations from her regarding his affairs, demanding things in the usual aries jealousy (like "Oh, you bastard you, don't you expect to see me again tomorrow! I'll leave you with all your bitches and may you burn in hell!). That's aries fire. But he doesn't listen or take her seriously, and Carol one day "shuts off," or freezes. Amyas is surprised to find that Carol no longer shows any sign of defiance whenever he partakes in an affair, and merely shrugs it off. That's aries ice.

Astrology legend Linda Goodman once said that aries ice was much more shocking than aries fire, because aries ice meant that the arien no longer cared. She said the perfect barometer for an Aries' feelings (specifically of the girl Aries'), is her jealousy. The more it burns, the more she cares.

Aries ice is a very sad phenomenon, because when an Aries decides to pack up his/her bags and go over to the next challenge (i.e., leave a difficult lover), he/she almost never looks back.

When you put it like that, it not only makes sense but happened to me too.

I didn't actually do anything wrong but this Aries girl I was with ages ago started having problems and took loads of drugs.
She soon came to realise that disapproved of her actions and suddenly, overnight, she became as cold as ice.

She even went from being sexually attractive to frigid lesbian around me. She cut her hair short, developed acne and suddenly became some paranoid drug addict.

      Ugh

This is a very interesting thread. I guess that Linda Goodman, being an Aries herself, knew what she was talking about.

I think that it is all about Aries being real and not playing games. The wife of the womanizer will complain loudly as long as she feels that there is room for improvement.
The womanizer or any other party playing this game will keep up the behavior because it is giving him\her all the attention and he is playing the shots. it is working very well for him, or so he thinks.
One day the Aries wakes up and realizes that in spite of giving it his\her best shots, the situation will never work out.

Aries, having given his\her best shots moves on because that is the only thing left to do. It is played out.

The cut is clean and surgical.

If these were just games being played out, well too bad and too late.

      I have done this before.

It really came as a shocker for those involved but from my end of things it was the only logical thing left to do. This move involves logics.

I also do not look back to whatever but I noticed that the people involved with an Aries in game playing usually learn a lesson.

      They change.

I totally agree with this and have done it before. When I am cold as ice to you I know longer care about the other person/situation

I use it ALL the time :D (newbie to tribe btw). I use it on people I'm too lazy to get passionately angry with, they just never expect me to see through all that games and usually have no initial understanding of why I cut them out of it. Ariens are smarter than we look, no point investing time and emotions on superficial people and silly games. Golly, and Fire/ Airs are supposedly more "superficial" than the rest. Passionate anger, I reserve for people who are worth my time/ explanation -- channel the passion into lengthy arguments or debates, usually we're both better off after it -- new perspectives and no hard feelings.

It takes me too long! I give people the benefit of the doubt way too often. And if I love them, it can take years for the Aries ice to form! But once it is over, it is over. However, I have noticed that the older I get, the less mess I am willing to put up with. It has been a lot easier to separate the flakey folks from the genuine friends in my life. The last person that I really cared for, it took me a few months to realize that they were not a real friend. I was sad and hurt at first, but then the indifference came.
