The real Mars

Well I saw some people saying how scorpio now has pluto as a ruling planet and should leave mars alone and leave it to aries or something to that effect.

I often see that scorpio gets attributed both mars and pluto and some people think why should they get the best of both worlds. One way to look at it is for all the good traits we can have from both we can potentially have all the bad traits from both.

Saturn once ruled aquarius and capricorn, and if you know anything about Saturn one thing it's about is restriction and many other traits that are nothing like Uranus that now rules aquarius.

So I guess one thing I could ask is if you see more Saturn in aquarius or more Mars in scorpio?

And why do you think pluto only should be attributed to scorpio and mars only to aries?

Because Pluto is evil and dark while Mars is light and goodness :))

I really do think Scorpios are really much more Plutonian than Martian, which is why I say Pluto rules Scorpio and Mars rules Aries. Pluto is the underhanded, sarcastic, self-protective and secretive, covert, darker brother, and is more into mystery while Mars is upfront, forthright, in your face, free-spirited, optimistic, and doesn't have the same darkness that Pluto has. Pluto is also known as Hades for the underworld, which is definitely Scorpio. While Aries and Scorpios do share a lot of similarities and core values, our approaches to things are so different and our outlooks are different.

I definately agree to the last sentence you said, but will say as for the rest I have heard it stated that scorpio is the invisible energy/power and aries the energy/power you can see...so is that the 2 aspects to martian energy or is the invisible energy/power purely pluto

LOL...yes, Eric I am half-joking. I'm glad you understood that. I don't think Mars is all good or Pluto is all bad or any planet or person or whatever is all ANY one thing.

I just don't see the Plutonian energy in Mars. There is none in my opinion. Mars is Mars and Pluto is Pluto is all I'm saying. They aren't blended together otherwise they wouldn't be separate planets with different rhythms to begin with. They are distinct and separate, and I see Scorpio as purely Plutonian and Aries as purely Martian with Pluto being like an older brother.

I know you are half joking but do you really think mars is all light and goodness...come on if that is the case you would be perfect...I will give you mars can be that but to say pluto is evil is to deny the pluto that ALL of us have and have to face....ok I can get serious sometimes but I will turn it back to light and love in a second, you just watch ;)

if you follow the evolution of astrological thought, Pluto wasn't discovered until 1930 ~ not really all that long ago, astrologically speaking:

A commonly used keyword for Pluto is "transformation". It is associated with power and personal mastery and the need to co-operate and share with another, if each is not to be destroyed. Pluto governs big business and wealth, mining, surgery and detective work, and any enterprise which involves digging under the surface to bring the truth to light.

Pluto is also associated with extreme power and corruption; the discovery of Pluto in 1930 coincided with the rise of fascism and Stalinism in Europe, leading to the Second World War. It also coincided with the Great Depression and the major proliferation of organized crime in the United States. ... It is also associated with nuclear armament, which had its genesis in the research of the 1930's and 40's. ... The discovery of Pluto also occurred just after the birth of modern psycho-analysis, when Freud and Jung began to explore the depths of the unconscious. In art, movements like Cubism and Surrealism began to deconstruct the 'normal' view of the world and reassemble it in new and sometimes disturbing ways.

for much of our human history, we have not had the technology we now do for gazing at the cosmos & until we made these advancements, our symbols of the Universe were likewise limited ~ the classical planets (mostly visible without advanced telescopes) covered everything ~

when our consciousness expanded, when we discovered new things (new to us at least), there was also a corresponding expansion of the symbols used to describe our larger understanding ~

but what we discovered didn't make us "wrong" in the past ~ using the limited symbols was appropriate for our limited vision & as we continue to understand more & more of our universe, astrology will add & re-work more & more symbols accordingly ~ as above, so below

as soon as Pluto was discovered, most astrologers easily made the switch to the ruler of Scorpio ~ I think that Scorpio is still connected with Mars & that Mars acts as a kind of foundation (or lower octave) for Scorpio, but to me, the ruler is most definitely Pluto ~ I don't just abandon my roots! ..but I do consider new sources.... I'm a Scorpio Sun, Scorpio Moon, Aries ascendant.

Saturn was the ruler of Aquarius before Uranus was discovered in 1781:

Uranus was discovered only in 1781 by Sir William Herschel.

Astrologically modern interpretations associate Uranus with the principles of genius, individuality, new and unconventional ideas, discoveries, electricity, inventions, and the beginnings of the industrial revolution. Uranus governs societies, clubs and any group dedicated to humanitarian or progressive ideals. Historically it was associated with the principles of the Enlightenment and radical political ideas of equality and freedom, among other things. Around the period of its discovery in 1781, the idea of democracy and the human rights was prevalent, with the breakaway of the American colonies from England and a few years later in 1789, the French revolution. In art and literature, the discovery of Uranus coincided with the Romantic movement, which emphasised individuality and freedom of expression.

& Jupiter was the ruler of Pisces before Neptune was discovered in 1846.

Astrologically modern Western astrologers associate the planet Neptune with idealism and compassion, but also with illusion, confusion and deception; with religions, spirituality and mysticism, the mass media, creativity in art and music, drugs, extreme sensitivity, fantasy and imagination, psychic phenomena and altered mental states. Neptune governs hospitals, prisons, mental institutions, and any place, such as a monastery, that involves a retreat from society. Its appearance coincided with the discovery of anesthetics and hypnotism . In political terms Neptune was linked to the rise of nationalist movements throughout Europe in countries like Germany, Italy, Hungary, Ireland and Serbia, seeking independence for their nations inspired by an idealized past of legend. It was also linked to the rise of socialism and the beginnings of the welfare state. Neptune also coincided with the utopian ideals of Communism, when Marx and Engels first published 'The Communist Manifesto' in 1848. In art, the impressionist movement began a trend away from literal representation, to one based on the subtle, changing moods of light and color.
