JOEY L. DOWDY - is a multi-talented International Choreographer, Instructor, Performer, Director, Producer and Founder of "Joey's World Dance Groove" Dance instructional DVD. He is also author of "Sweat to Success and the Spirit of I". Joey is a graduate of Point Park Conservatory and a alumnus of Disney's Epcot Center World Dancers where he performed in many ABC Television specials. He has also danced and trained with the Joffrey II Ballet, The American Dance Ensemble, Tennessee Ballet, Kathryn Dunham;s African Dance Ensemble and Spaca-Brasil.His numerous choreography credits include a variety of work in Television, Film, Stage, Music Videos, and recent commercials for Coca Cola (Japan), AT&T, and Clairol. RICHARD PASCALE - has been coaching gymnastics in the Pasadena area for over twenty years. He was one of the youngest high school athletes to win a A.A.U. Championship Title, and was ranked number one in C.I.F. for three years. In addition, some of his significant accomplishments include 14 A.A.U. Championship National Titles. Currently, he teaches Adult Body Sculpt and Circuit training. Through his own business, Elite Fitness, Richard has trained some of the top fitness champions in the nation including Kelly Ryan, Monica Brant, Laurie Vaniman, and Cynthia Hill. BRIM'S real name Keith Junior - is the President and CEO of Core Video 101. Brim is a dancer, national/international choreographer, video director, produces music, artistic director, video editor just to name a few of many hats he wears. Brim has over 17 years of experience in various positions throughout both business and the entertainment industry. Brim got his jump in the entertainment industry when he choreographed dance moves for top selling multi-platinum acts such as: Backstreet Boys (Jive Records), Aaron Carter (Jive Records), and Blaque (Jive Records) just a few from his large list. He quickly became Orlando’s hottest sought after choreographer. With the decision to work in all mediums of entertainment, he soon gained the position of Creative Director for Big 3 Records and lead in the development and creation of a star studded show in Monte Carlo, France for the Prince of Monaco. He later went on and developed show concerts that themed at both the Rio and MGM Grand hotels in Las Vegas. Keith still appears in commercials, television and film projects including a featured talent in the hit dance movie ‚”You Got Served (Sony/Columbia Pictures).” Currently, Brim is in development for a new television show and a national/international dance convention.


JESSICA LYNN - With her versatility and flavor, Jessica Lynn is one of the most sought after Dancers in Los Angeles. She has danced for the artists Blu Cantrell, NellyFurtado, toured overseas with the reggeaton artist Adassa ,and most recently Fantasia Barrino. Over her career she has appeared in film, television, music videos and on stage with credits ranging from Alias and the hit sketch show MadTV, to the feature films Grind, Wes Craven’s Zombie Prom, and the 2004 NBA All-Star Game. Jessica’s choreography credits include the FOX pilot Hype That Track , a promo tour for Jon.B , a Century 21 commercial , and numerous videos and stage performances for a handful of up-and-coming artists. Jessica Lynn is also an established teacher and has taught master classes throughout the U.S. and Italy.


SHAWN BREATHWAITE - The girls, the girls they love him! He is teaches adult Hip Hop class. He recently has added a very spirited Cardio Funk class to our schedule. His latest acheivement is starring in the last MaDonna and newest Ricky Martin video. He is also working on a CD that is off the hook. Shawn happens to be a verrrrry good singer. Now all the teenage girls have their own Backstreet Boy teaching them the latest hip-hop moves right here at the Athletic Garage. He has the skills to get you grooving to the hottest hip-hop music and he's got the All American Boyish Good looks to make the girls go wild and keep coming back for more. Shawn is the young man to watch; he will keep you N'Sync. Shawn if on leave from the Garage. He is pursuing his singing career, but we will see him from time to time as a sub. We wish him all the best!!

Rueben Gobah, commonly called Rueben the Fitness LION – Originally from Liberia, West Africa is a multi-talented dancer, performer, singer/entertainer and was known in his native country as “Rueben the Groover|”. His talent and charisma are infectious when he is on stage as his natural dance moves and rhythms are reminiscent of many of Hollywood’s hottest entertainers such as Usher, Justin Timber Lake and the beloved Man of Soul, Mr. James Brown. Rueben has performed as a Guest Artist at the World Peace Festival for the 2002, 9/11 Victims Memorial program held at the Lincoln Memorial. He Co-hosted for POP across America on TNN TV in DC, MD, VA, won a Gold plaque, two gold medals and two silver medals for best acting, singing and dancing at the World Championships for Performing Arts in California. Rueben’s versatile performing background is only the tip of the iceberg, he not only is an International performer, and he is also a humanitarian after coming to the US after being in war for 11 years. He is a member of the United Nation’s Association of the National Capital Area president of the organization Africans and Americans United for World Peace and fitness that is trying to undertaking a world peace project to promote the unification of people around the world especially people of West Africa, focusing currently on war torn Liberia. Aside from his many humanitarian projects, Rueben is also a IFPA Certified Sr. Personal Fitness Trainer, presently working with Equinox, upcoming Chess master, Prenatal and Postnatal certified, Kettle Ball certified, nominated as Bally’s Total Fitness “Best Trainer with the Fastest Results – 2005”. He has taught his effective anaerobic “African Dance” class across the nation, for such established organizations as, Bally’s Total Fitness (Washington DC/Hollywood/Culver City), Channel 18 for two months, Curves Clubs – Fox Hills Mall, The Fitt Factory – Los Angeles, California. His classes are always packed as his clients reap the benefits of both cardio and strength training that African Dance provides. CAROLYN DAVIDSON - Ms Davidson was born in San Francisco. Her love of ballet came at the age of three. Training began at the San Francisco Ballet School. At the age of twelve she earned her first paid contract to work with Richard Cammack and Michael Smuin in San Francisco Ballet's production of the Nutcracker. She later joined Ballet Celeste International/Theatre Ballet of San Francisco under the direction of Merrium Lanova (formerly of Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo). This experience took her on several tours to various world locales, dancing in such ballets as Swan Lake, LeCoarsaire and many more. In 1992 she went to Seville, Spain to perform at Expo '92 as a Goodwill Ambassador of Dance for the United States. She retired from performance in 1996 but continues to perform on occasion as a guest artist for many pretigous companies worldwide. She founded the American Repertory Theatre Ballet also known as ARTb (based in Foster City with San Francisco roots). ARTb produces full length ballets as well as free educational outreach programs in local schools and public parks. She continues her love of dance through her Ballet company while teaching lcass in LA, SF, SD and NYC.


"AUKAI" CAIN - Aukai has performed in off Broadway musicals such a "Bare" & "Reefer Madness" as well as several Carnival pieces at the Key Club in Los Angeles and most recently "The American Idol" & Clay Aikens video "Invisible". His recent performances include top hotels in Vegas, FOX's Good Morning show, ABC's Good Morning show, and UPN's CLUB TEEN SCENE to premiere March 2004. He has won numerous awards, most notably the Back Stage West Garland Award & the Theatre LA Ovation Award for Best Ensemble Performance. He has trained with some of the top choreographers in LA , and The Athletic Garage is proud to have him join our staff. He is an off the hook dancer and choreographer. Don't miss this class!


KAMALA ALMANZAR - has been belly dancing professionally for over 20 years. She has a strong background in ballet and jazz and her style reflects these disciplines. Her credits include TV and film, theater productions, and restaurants and nightclubs around the world. Kamala is a founding member of one of LA's top middle eastern dance companies, "The Flowers of the Desert". She choreographs and coaches belly dance competitiors who have won first place titles consecutively from 1999 to 2004. Kamala teaches Egyptian and Cabaret style belly dance, as well as other dances from various Middle Eastern countries.


JASON DEROEST - comes from Pleasant Grove, Utah. He recieved his training at The Dance Club, one of the country's most respected teaching studios. Jason has been seen in 2 Broadway Tours, Victor Victoria and Footloose and most recently he performed in the El Capitan's stage show The Incredibles. Jason will be teaching Technique Intensive class on Tuesdays and sweat with him every Tuesday and Thursday for his Cardio Funk class.


PAULO ALCEDO - Born and raised in the central Philippines. He trained under Douglas Nierras of the Powerdance Company which won the 10th Saitama Worldwide Modern Dance Competition in Saitama, Japan. He moved to Los Angeles in 2002 and finished the EDGE scholarship (2002-2003). Alcedo has danced in numerous dance companies all over Los Angeles such as Hysterica Dance Company, ( Kitty McNamme/Ryan Heffington), Commonality Dance Company (Adam Parson), Collage Dance Theatre (Heidi Duckler), Strange Company (Hassan Christopher), and toured with the Rosanna Gamson Worldwide modern dance co. He was a part of the 2004 Hollywood Bowl season for the musical entitled "Mass" for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Paulo is very active in the Filipino Community for concerts and teaching dance both in his community and with ACPN. Paulo is very thrilled to be part of the Athletic Garage Dance & Fitness studio.


PROFESSOR JIM - founded the Capoeira Angola centers in Los Angeles/Pasadena and Milwaukee. He began studies in Capoeira Angola under the tutelage of Mestre Angola, the founder of the Associacao de Caperira Corpo e Movimento (1980). He has participated in graduations, congresses, conferences, and presentations throughout Brazil, Tokyo, and in the United States. His objective is to make Capoeira Angola accessible to all peoples. SALLY DONAUBAUER - is a Doctor of Physical Therapy student at USC. She holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Iowa. Prior to moving to LA, Sally spent six years in New York City working as a professional modern dancer and Pilates instructor. As a modern dancer, she performed regularly in NYC, throughout the Northeast and Europe. Certified in Pilates by the Kane School of Core Integration in NYC, Sally taught private and group classes and was a member of the Kane School Pilates Teacher Training Staff. Additionally, Sally is certified in pre and post natal fitness from AAAI and ISMA, and is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science. Sally teaches Pilates Plus Stretch and Pilates on the Ball.


DAIANA KOREN - Daiana is a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer. She holds a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Arts & Dance from Cal State University in Los Angeles. She has performed for Reebok, Nike, and Gold's Gym. She has danced professionally in Los Angeles and New York. Daiana has been seen in theatre as well as on television for various projects and is continuing her journey as a bi coastal performer. Daiana is a versitile dancer and instructor. Daiana is on leave for the Athletic Garage because she is following her dream as choreographer in New York City. We wish her luck!!


"DJ" - DJ is our newest addition to the Athletic Garage. He will be teaching Hip Hop. DJ is a natural dancer and got "hooked" on dance at 15 and has been dancing since. He has toured with Angel Faith and has danced with notable choreographers such as Wade Robson, Shane Sparks, and JJ Valar. He has choreographed pieces for Carnival and has lost count as to how many performances he gave there. You're gonna love his hip hop style and energy.


DINE' WALTON - Dine' began her dance career in high school as a member of the Huron Dance Company in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She quickly took on the role of Hip Hop choreographer since the style was not represented in this company at the
time. After a long hiatus dance was finally brought back into her life in 2001.Since this time she has danced and choreographed for several projects including the D.A.R.E AMERICA L.A SCHOOL TOUR, and lifestyle/entertainment
show TONEO TALK. She can currently be seen performing all around as a member of GROOVAHOLIX ALL-FEMALE DANCE COMPANY and teaching at L.A area dance studios, ATHLETIC GARAGE, EAGLE ROCK DANCE CENTER and THE KOREAN DANCE ACADEMY.


ARIANA OLIVA - Ariana’s first public performance was at the Los Angeles County Fair when she was 4 years old. Her early dance training in jazz, ballet, hip-hop, and tap began at San Marino Dance Academy when she was in elementary school. As a five-year member of San Marino Dance Company she competed both locally and nationally winning many awards and scholarships. Ariana has also had dance training in flamenco, afro-latino, belly dancing, Hawaiian, salsa, and contemporary dance. Her distinct dance style has given her the opportunity to work as a dancer in music videos and as a back-up dancer for new artists. This is Ariana’s second year as an instructor/choreographer at the Athletic Garage. She teaches Creative Movement and Jazz Technique to our youngest students.


VIVIANA SOTO - born in Lima, Peru Viviana has been dancing informally all her life. It was the way of life where she grew up. Viviana has led a dance team at Azusa Pacific where she earned a BA in Global Studies and has many stage performances. Currently she dances with Cuba Swift, an up and coming Latin rap/hip hop artist. Mixing her Latin background and love of Hip Hop, Viviana is representing the new generation of Latinos in the entertainment scene.


G MADISON IV - While working in film, television and theater, G. Madison has worked with The La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego and Asian American Reparatory Theaters, dance companies including Groovaholix, Ujima, UrbanFX, Golden Touch, Cal State LA’s Team Flight, Sexy Salsa Divas, X- Factor, Generation F, Positive Energy Salsa Company, Contagious Flow, and Groove Theory. With his newly acquired bachelor’s degree in Radio, TV & Film: Broadcast Journalism from Cal State LA, G currently travels with The Living Garden, having performed at numerous events around the world. While performing he is steadily training and choreographing for various dance troupes, established and upcoming recording artists and students of the arts throughout Southern California. He is one of Cal State Los Angels’ newest faculty members, teaching SALSA and Hip Hop for the Department of Theatre Arts & Dance. While he teaches in numerous dance studios on the west coast, including The Academy of Performing Arts, A Time To Dance, Black & Brown Studio, Temecula Dance Co., and Jay-Vee Dance Center. As an actor and dancer/choreographer, G has been featured on numerous television shows, music videos, staged productions and dance showcases including BRAVO, The 2005 Grammy Awards, Seeing Stars, The Tyra Banks Show, Pussycat Dolls Presents:, The DROP, The Choreographers’ Carnival, and The Dance Off. With training and an extended amount of performance experience in HIP-HOP, SALSA, and JAZZ-FUNK, G. continues to build his repertoire with the talents he was blessed with and is excited to work with others that are just as motivated and ambitious. As one of ATHLETIC GARAGE’S newest instructors for Hip Hop and the upcoming Salsa-Fusion classes, G plans to immerse you in a new style every week; training that will prepare you for professional dance work in today’s ever-changing industry.

SASHA KOZIAK - originally from Ft. Worth, Tx, Sasha relocated to Los Angeles on a professional dance scholarship at The Edge performing arts center in the early 90's. She went to work with choreographers such as Dorian Sanchez and Bubba Carr, Anita Mann, Shawnda Sawyer, and Adam Shankman, to name a few. She is a conservatory graduate of The Second City L.A., a certified Pilates instructor and mother of two. She owns and operates Powerhouse Authentic Pilates and Pole dancing studio located upstairs in the loft at The Athletic Garage! She has recently worked with the Elephant Lab Theater on choreography and movement for their current production, choreographed a country music video and a Coca Cola short film. Sasha currently choreographs and performs monthly with "The Muse Project", a cabaret review, and directs a dance group that performs with the band Pillbilly Knights" around the L.A. area.
