BIO
Karim Nagi is a native Egyptian drummer, DJ, and folk dancer. He is the creator
of Turbo Tabla, and has released two internationally distributed CDs of this
unique brand of Arab House/Electronica using acoustic instruments. Karim has
authored instructional DVDs for the Tabla/Doumbek and Riqq tambourine, as well
as two rhythm compilation CDs. He is also well versed in the ultra-traditional
styles of music and dance as the leader of the Sharq Arabic Music Ensemble, and
the Arab Dance Seminar. He has recorded music for Bellydance Superstars,
Bellyqueen, and the Bellytwins, as well as mainstream artists like Alicia Keys,
and The Urban Griot Project. He performs Arab folkdances including Tahtib (Saidi
cane) and Dabke (stomping line dance). His performances boast a dynamic
concoction of live drumming and dance, done in unison. Because of his
proficiency in both music and dance, his workshops deliver students to a new
physical understanding of the connection between these two disciplines. Karim
Nagi is a true crossover artist, uniting the Traditional and the Modern, the
Ethnic and the Urban.
I have seen a Tribal dance pattern at Fabric Land & would recommend getting that if you aree lokking for costuming. It has Bloomers, Choli, Scarves, Belt ideas etc. It would be far easier to follow then anything I have, & you wouldn't have to size it. The pattern is Simplicity #3832. Here is a link,

it under Adult costumes: Fairies & dancers. I not sure what the connection is there but....

Hi Ladies. Everyone keeps asking us about these fabulous pants that we wear. They are made for tribal Bellydancers in San Fransisco by the fabulous dancer Melodia. Melodia is a former member of the first Bellydance Superstars tour. She left the tour after her pant business took off and she now makes a living off of our obsession. Please support a fellow Bellydancer and buy them from her. Copies never turn out right and they are never the same quality. She now dances with the "Atash Maya Dance Co" who also has a tribe if your interested.

Here is the link to the ebay store

A word of advice. The mini and sash styles fit all shapes and sizes. The fringe ride low and are not advisable for girls with large hips. As well, when in doubt, buy the bigger size. It is easy to fix too large but not so easy to fix too small
And if you have any futher questions ask us or go to the Melodia Desings tribe at
