Yes, your favourite world-groove horn and drum band based in East Van has just returned from shows and festivals in Germany, the Basque Country (Spain), France, and England.

Tomorrow, Saturday July 7th, we play our first show back in Canada at the Fairview Pub, 898 W. Broadway. The date is 7/7/7, so cover is only $7. Come and help support us- we made this trip happen all by ourselves without any grants, rich sugardaddies, or sports drink endorsements.

The Carnival Band won the People's Choice Award at the battle of carnival bands in Hamburg, Germany, performed on a mountain on the solstice in the Basque Country just before an ancient pagan fire-jumping ceremony, and paraded after a number of unsuspecting traffic wardens in London, England ("What. Is. The. Name of. Your group?!" "Traffic Wardens Need Love!")

Opening July 7th are Blackberry Wood, the super-fun rag-time band with a hip-hop backbone.
