The Carnival Band will play for the beginning of the July Critical Mass, a monthly grassroots reclamation of public space held the last Friday of every month at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

You are invited to enjoy the safety and comfort in the car-free space created by simply riding together! Bicycles, skateboards, rollerskates, self propelled couches, and any other form of human powered locomotion are all welcomed! The last ride, in June 2006, was estimated to include over 1800 bicyclists.

Gather fiveish, leave sixish, on the fountain side of the Art Gallery.

Later that evening, come to the VeloFusion Bike Party, from 8pm - 1:30 at the Anza Club (3 8th Avenue West). It's a celebration of Vancouver's vibrant bicycle culture with dancing, bands, DJ's, movies, bike art and much more dancing.

The Carnival Band plays around 10pm. Other performers include Timothy Wisdom ( people.tribe.net/timothywisdom ) (Dj), Ruggedly Handsome (Dj), Ifny (MC), DAXXX (Performer), and Ian Patterson and Jim Hoehnle (Bicycle light sculpture).

It is $3 if you come in a costume (any costume, go nuts, go wild, be as creative as you like) and $5 otherwise.
