The Goddess Garden still seeks instructors for the new studio in Phoenix!
We still have several openings for up beat, happy minded instructors to join our staff. To see what we are about, visit here:

Currently I'd like to add more world dance, ethnic dance, and variety dance classes (hip hop, modern, jazz, etc...) as well as more yoga, wellness, fitness and mind health type classes. I am pretty stocked up on bellydance type classes for now unless an instructor promises to bring a large following.
We also do not currently offer any children's classes but may be looking for classes open to those 16 and up soon.

I have loads of daytime openings, early evenings, late nights as well as all day Sunday available. (see the current schedule to see what is available)

Instructors who are interested in teaching at The Goddess Garden should email me with a casual message stating their interest and should include a resume in word document format. Please only reply if you are SERIOUS about teaching, reliable, and have a current student base you can bring, even if only a small one. Shoes are not allowed in the space as we also offer yoga classes. If this is an issue for your class then feel free to keep us in mind for next year once we get our new flooring put in.

The space is also available for rent for private sessions or for group rehearsals, workshops, seminars, etc...You should be able to bring a student base of your own as well as count on our advertising to bring some in for you as well.
Happy, drama-free people only need apply to work in our cozy, warm, happy environment.

BULK:
I am currently liquidating a ton of my old stock since I have so so much that has been on hand and my tax accountant tells me that the IRS is gonna start to wonder why it isnt moving. Since my on the road show schedule has been slowing down (my own choice, life on the road is tough!), it's been here, collecting dust when what it really deserves is to be worn.
Some, I have been listing on ebay but that I can only do so much of. Y'know, the only 24 hours on one day thing?
Anyway, I am willing to make some sweet deals to unload stuff by bulk. I have: skirts, tops, halters, belts, bras, jewelry, vests, ghawazee coats, veils, pantaloons, panel accent skirts, and so so much more! I probably wont liquidate the Sexy Sheer Beledi Dresses since those are hot sellers.
I will post pics soon to give you some ideas. Buy a load of items at screaming deal prices and mark them up in your shop. Your students will love it!

WHOLESALE:
It is that time of year again where I will be taking wholesale orders of a MINIMUM of $500.00 for tribal wares. From kuchi tribal jewelry pieces and pendants to necklaces, belts, beaded discs, rings, cuffs, chain belts, lapis jewelry, coins, textiles, old antique Turkomann jewelry, and more, leave me a note in here if you are interested and once I put together a form letter to give you all the details I will send it all at once to all interested parties. The minimum is $500.00 US and bear in mind that shipping, especially overseas, can be high since this stuff is so heavy.
EG. I sent an order to Australia for $500.00 and the shipping was close to $80.00. I shipped another to the UK and the shipping was in the $70s range. Shipping goes by weight and where it is headed so keep it in mind.
I also have refernces in case you are leary of sending me $500.00

Bring: A 12 yard or fuller dance skirt. 12-16 yards is best. 25 yards is too much, 10 yards may not be enough.
Substitute: You may opt to bring a 3-yard, silk veil instead, to improvise with, but skirts are much better

Kahlea brings a fresh approach to improvisational tribal group dancing by adding a full skirt to dance tribal with as an eye-catching prop. Referencing a tribal format, for ease of use in group, improvisational dancing, this style is perfect for use in tribal troupes or for solo routines. Flashes of color, a peek of a satiny pantaloon or a whimsical striped sock, all make for smiles in your audience as you “flash” bold streaks of color while doing sassy moves with your skirt. Kahlea adapted this fusion style with influence from Domba’s Tribal Skirt, and added hints of Flamenco dance, Spanish styles, Eastern European folkloric flair and of course, her own feisty influence.

Your Chance to Shine!

Event Details: Baby, you're a Star! Show us your stuff! Phoenix Pagan Pride Day is looking for talented amateurs, whatever your entertainment genre, to participate in a Pagan Idol talent competition. Do you sing, dance, do stand-up comedy or play Yankee Doodle on your kazoo while standing on your head? We'll watch! Performers should bring their own music or other props. The winner will be given an opportunity to perform at Phoenix Pagan Pride Day, on October 7th, 2007.

I now carry a new line of hair flowers from one of my very own dance babies, Daniyah of Natium World Dance. She sold a ton of them at TF07 b/c they are soooo purdy. She only does the gorgeous glimmer ones and if you are interested let me know. If there is enough interest, I may just post them up in my website too!
They are the pretty tiger lillies that she hand dyes then showers em with sprinkles of shimmering glitter. Loads of colors to pick from. Orders being taken now.

Darlings...come say hello!

I have seriously been sewing for weeks and you will know this to be true once you see the blisters, caluses and raw spots on my fingertips.
This year at Tribal Fest, The Goddess Garden unveils the new bra and belt sets. A little less tassles n bells and SCAish and a little more urban tribal and metal!
I have also been working with some new trims for the hardcore headgear and may very likely be able to lower the prices from those that I had been selling them at previously.
I have loads of new sari panel accents, sexy sheer beledi dresses and sexy sheer tie tops.
Of course there will be the usual bits n bobs section of tribal jewelry, bindis, kuchi pieces and medallions, etc...
I earnestly hope to meet lots of you and hope you drop by to say hi.

This was one of those really awesome notes you get from a customer on just the week you are having what may be the crappiest day.
This is the type of stuff love of design is made of. Dang...I LOVE my job!

You made me a fantastic bra last summer, which I wore to a student show in DC...then you were kind enough to add more bling to it and alter it for me in December for another show. Well I wanted to let you know that I just performed in 4 shows this past weekend in Sahara Dance's big annual show in DC, Under a Desert Moon...in 2 tribal numbers and 1 cabaret number, wearing the bra in the tribal numbers, and I am so pleased with the bra and how it makes my costume look so fabulous that I wanted to share my excitement with you! I had so many dancers ask me - where did you get your bra? - and I told them about you....

I had quick costume changes in several of the shows and I was able to get in and out of my tribal gear without a problem, and I have to say
that it was a lot easier for me with my bra- style bra than for some of the other dancers who had complicated bras that had to be tied in
several places and they needed 2 people to help them get dressed!

The other "news" I wanted to share with you is that I got "promoted" from our Intro Tribal group into the student tribal troupe called Raks Caravan West. I am going to be dancing with them starting this summer. It's been something that I have been working towards for a year now, and I have to say that a lot of my confidence in performing comes from how I look in my costume, and the bra is a big part of that - especially for someone of my size, when it is difficult for me to find even a normal everyday bra that fits! I think one of the reasons I was selected to join the student troupe is because I have "looked the part" at our shows - so I thank you so much for helping me with that!

Kahlea,
I have noticed your 'hunka' bra in the pics, and wondered what size it is? My idea is because my boobs are so big that if I get a bra that is 'almost' big enough to hold them, I can wear a choli (or other tight top) and the 'not quite' big enough bra over the top.

I find it VERY VERY difficult to find bra's that actually fit for every day wear, let alone to chop up and destroy to make a bra for dancing! And I don't have any idea on how to go about making one!
So thats why my idea has been to find a bra thats 'almost' big enough.

Woe is me. I got a couple of notices from Assurance Hosting that my domain was about to expire. So I went on their site, updated my payments and bought two more years. Low n behold I am getting repeated frantic customer requests as to where my website has gone.
I went back to the ASS host website and started a customer service ticket and tried AGAIN to update my info but now I get a red note saying "Customer Restricted".
When speaking with she who did my initial set up, she said she has heard nothing but complaints about assurance hosting company and to go elsewhere.
What to do? I am terrified someone else will buy my domain out from under me. eeeek!

Build a Set-Bra/Belt

So often I get requests via my website to design a bra or belt or matched set for a dancer. Generally custom orders are my greatest joy, especially when the customer says "I love your stuff. Make it however you want but these are my colors." Artistic license allows me to "feel" about the piece, about the dancer and about the outcome. I know it sounds way corny but I love it! Often I ask the dancer to send me a pic of themselves so I can feel the design better.
Some dancers want a basic set for a recital. Some want something more Ren Faire appropriate. Others want a really ethnic look while others still want that urban fusion, The Indigo type look with metal & hardware.
I have enjoyed this so much that I want to test out a new idea here on tribe b/f I take it live on my site. I'd like to work out a way to Build a Bra/Belt/Costume. I am open to your feedback and suggestions and of course, during this test run, if you offer me your patience while we work it all out, I will offer you a discount before this goes live on the website.
Here are your choices:

Choose:
Bra Belt Set Full Costume: bra, belt, tie vest (hides bra straps), panel skirt, beledi dress-YOU provide the skirt or pants
$75-$150 $60-$150 $150.00-$300 $275-$400

Bra choices-Your bra will be black, underwire, and will either have molded cups or padded cups to insure the heavy decorations stay put and dont drag the cup down. I do not yet make halter bras. Choose your size and it is always recommended you see a professional bra sizer first. In my experience at least 70% of women wear the wrong size bra. I also would urge you to get one cup size larger than what you'd normally wear so you can wear another, think bra under to keep sweat, oil, grime away from the decorated bra.
SIZES:
32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44 or "other"
A, B, C, D, DD, F, "other"
*The larger the bra, the higher the price due to cost of bras as well as decorating more area.

COLORS:
Pick two main colors (colors are always subject to availability and stcok so it is often best to confer with me over email first to be certain I have what you need)

STYLE:
Pick style:
Ethnic Tribal (think ATS) Urban Fusion Tribal (think The Indigo/Rachel Brice) African Tribal (think ren faires & SCA events)

DECORATION:
Light (great for smaller cups and for student dancers) Average (what most people purchase) Heavy (for you ultimate divas who insist on looking absolute top notch-great for pro dancers)

BELTS:
Belts vary greatly depending on what style you choose so let's begin there. Generally it looks best if you pick a belt style to coincide with your bra style choice.

STYLE:
Ethnic Tribal (think ATS) Urban Fusion Tribal (think The Indigo/Rachel Brice) African Tribal (think ren faires & SCA events)

COLORS:
Pick two main colors (colors are always subject to availability and stcok so it is often best to confer with me over email first to be certain I have what you need)

SIZES:
Most belt style tie in front so there is a bit of room to play with regarding size. Measure yourself around the exact place you plan to wear the belt. Dont let the tape measure be too slack, nor too tight.
32", 34", 36", 38", 40", 42", 44", 46", 48", 50", or "other"
*again, price quotes will vary depending on size since the larger the booty, the more decoration I need to use. : )

DECORATION:

SETS-I also offer matching bra/belt sets. Use the above tables to select your options.

Entire costume:
Here is what I suggest as the best looking, most put together costume I offer:
You supply the bottoms-whether a fat Cahnce Flying Skirt or your fave Melodias, this part is up to you.

Put on your pants/skirt (If wearing a skirt you will also need to buy some pantaloons). Put on your own underbra to keep the decorated bra from getting icky and sweaty. Put on the panel skirt over the pants or the skirt. Add the Sexy Sheer Beledi Dress next over top of the underbra and the pants/skirt and panel accent skirt.
Put on the decorated bra and "fluff" the girls so they look nice n perky but not so much that you are showing any aereola! Adjust the Sexy Sheer Beledi Dress how you want it. Now add the belt and "blouse" out the dress a bit so that when you raise your arms while dancing, it doesnt pull everything all around.
Add the tie vest to hide bra straps and either let the ties hand or tuck them up under the bra.

Hair/Head/Face: Nothing like spending all that mula on a fancy get up and then leaving your hair and makeup the same way you always wear it! Add Cowry Falls, Bedouin Braid Accents, Hardcore headgear, bindis, dark kohled eyes, and chunky tribal jewelry.
VOILA!

A full day of Middle Eastern Dance workshops in a variety of flavors!

9-11am HABIB (N. AZ)
MIDDLE EASTERN MEDLEY- You can make the most of your performance when understanding what
rhythms you are dancing to. Habib will introduce some common Middle Eastern
rhythms that one usually encounters in a BellyDance performance, plus a few unusual
ones. Dancers will learn their count and how to move with them, plus dynamic ways
to end a musical phrase.
Rhythms covered….MASMOUDI, ZAAR, SAIIDI, Wahida Kibira & Samaai, Variation on Masmudi Kebir

11-1pm JAZMINE (PHX)
CABARET COMBOS with ZILLS
Fill your dancers' toolbox with exciting combos to various rhythms and fun, interesting zill patterns that make them even more exciting!
This workshop is the perfect compliment and musical extension to Habib's rhythm workshop.

2-4pm KAHLEA (PHX)
BODY DRILLS & COMBO THRILLS
We will begin with some isolated body movement warm ups to get us into the swing of our day. Next come some deep, cleansing stretches to rid ourselves of toxins and bring your fabulous day of dance all together. Then we will kick it into high gear with some cardio and strength building with some of my personal faves *groan*:
Booty Bumps, Calf Killers, Abs Assertions, Quads Crunchers, and Shoulder Shredders!
Once we get through that butt busting period of class, you will learn some of Kahlea's signature ATS (American Tribal Style), Tribal Fusion and Diabolique Funky Fusion combinations.

That Tribal Look-$20.00
Learn makeup tricks for stage ("cabaret" dancers need not shy away from this) with emphasis on how to make up your lips, eyes, cheeks, appropriate color choices, makeup on an aging face, and other tips for stage makeup. What are those funny markings on that tribal dancer's face? What are those red finger tips all about? And how come she's wearing that jewel on her forehead?
It doesnt end at makeup tips either. Learn what to do with your hair, what jewelry to wear, and how to wrap a few different types of turbans, headwraps and head veils. This is perfect with the SCA's Estrella Wars coming up soon as well as for those students hoping to dance in recitals, at local performances and on the "big stage" someday.
This clinic is a bit of show n tell, some demos and some lecture. Students are encouraged to bring their makeup kits or caddies to use during the demos for hands-on experience. An absolute must for any tribal dancer's kit is a felt tip waterproof eye pen such as Maybelline's, in black.

Classes require pre-payment registration with no exceptions. You may message me ASAP for payment details and pre-pay registratons are due before January 25th.

If a minimum number of sign ups is not met, the clinics will be cancelled.

NATIUM World Dance-tank tops

We will be carrying more of our cute little girly tanks in 2007. I will have them in classes as well as at our shows. I'll also sell them here and on my website. Photo coming soon.
They will be black and the front reads in fucshia "Natium World Dance" with our logo the lotus flower and at the bottom it says "good girls".
The backside says in scarlett "Diabolique Unconventional Entertainment" with our devil's tail logo and at the bottom it reads "Bad Grrrls".
We will be selling the tanks for $20 or 2/$35.00. The sizes run S-XL and they are sized generously and nice and long.
Wear yours to a show and add your fave hipbelt and come shake it with us during open dance!
