This highly technical, thoroughly educational, delightful and empowering class will help you on your way to whatever belly dancing endeavor you chose. Gwyn offers an tribal-based fusion belly dance class with a style that is influenced by Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes Jill Parker and Heather Stanz, to name a few from the belly dance world. Gwyn also incorporates a unique style created as a telling of her life long dedication to the love and study of dance. Come prepared to be challenged by something completely new and invigorated by the positive and life-altering changes that will take place in your mind, body and soul!

***********
Gwyn has been studying Belly Dance since the age of 17. A life long lover of dance, she began her journey with ballet as a young child and has experimented in many styles which has afforded her a diverse perspective in dance. She began her formal Belly Dance training in 2000 learning mostly traditional styles of Middle Eastern Dance under Kristina Kelly of Jackson, MS. Gwyn studied and performed there until she moved to Nashville, TN at the age of 25 where she took a short break from dance to adjust to a new town. All it took; however, was seeing Rachel Brice perform one night in a local theater and she was catapulted back into the study of Belly Dance with a renewed energy that changed her life forever. Gwyn began taking classes and workshops all over the U.S. with Rachel Brice and other artists including Carolena Nerricio, Jill Parker, Heather Stanz, Mardi Love and Zoe Jakes of the Indigo, Moria Chappell and many more continuing her dance education as much as possible.

January 2007 Gwyn founded Bodhicitta BellyDance which has been nominated for "Best Performing Local Artist " as well as traveled and performed internationally. Together with her troupe mates, Gwyn offers the world of Belly Dance a unique style layered with history and fueled by passion with a careful need to be respectful of tradition while equally celebrating the evolution of Belly Dance today.
