Does anyone know what spots are coming open this year for groups to apply to obtain perm. land?

Re: Permanent Land
Wed, November 14, 2007 - 8:59 PMI actually heard a rumor about the land located directly behind the Green Dragon. Maybe Ysabeau could contact Sir Elesar for confirmation. I believe he has always camped there in the past, but Im not sure if it is their permanent encampment place. Good luck with that. The period camp you put together would look killer there. Keep in mind its the only place I heard of last Gulf War and it could be rumor. -

Re: Permanent Land
Sun, February 10, 2008 - 1:47 AMNo there is not an open space behind the Green Dragon. I am on Land staff and know that the map is off. That blank spot is where Talmere is really located at and the Green Dragon is in the spot marked as Talmere.

Re: Permanent Land
Thu, November 15, 2007 - 6:27 PMI just checked the new maps and there does indeed seem to be an empty unclaimed area behind the Green Dragon. I could contact Sir Elesar or his lady Marion, but I think they would refer you to the Land Office. There is a link to send a message on the Gulf Wars site under contacts
www.gulfwars.org/index.php
According to the rules, "Groups with permanent camping sites at Gulf Wars still need to pre-reserve at least 20 people or risk losing their use of the land. " So there may be some sites open up after pre-registration closes. I would advise that if you can get that many to pre-register under one group name and put in the request now to get on the waiting list for permanent land, you might stand a good chance.
The bigger question is whether you want permanent space within Ansteorra or just in general. If it is "in general" you might end up at the end of the world. You might want to think about whether a non-permanent camp close in is better than a permanent camp way out there.
Not an authority, just guessing... -

Re: Permanent Land
Mon, November 19, 2007 - 7:33 PMI have heard many different places that they are thinking about alloting to permanent lands. I know that none of the locations I have heard of are anywhere near where the Ansteorran gates are. Matter of fact, many of them are on the other side of the site.
I wonder if I would want to give up that for permanent land. I dont know. Would walking across site to get to the muster point, only to walk back to the field be worth it? Maybe... -

Re: Permanent Land
Mon, January 28, 2008 - 12:26 PMYou know, it might not be a bad idea for the Rhoadd/Amazon group to look into some sort of permanent arrangement if possible. Not this year of course, but in the future at some point.
Being only about 5 hours away, I'd be willing to go spend a weekend a couple times a year improving our spot(s) and arranging for/building permanent gates and whatnot.
Something to think about anyway....
